Seven Myrtle Beach-Area Courses To Host Conway Medical Center Golf Classic

Annual Tournament Has Raised More Than $2 Million To Support CMC Foundation

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.Seven premier Myrtle Beach-area courses will be hosting the annual Conway Medical Center Golf Classic throughout the month of July.

The event has raised more than $2 million to benefit the CMC Foundation’s strategic initiatives,  which include CMC’s Healthreach Program, Smart Snacks, Mobile Mammography Center and Scholarships.

In years past, the CMC Golf Classic has been a three-day event, but with America’s still battling the Covid-19 pandemic, the decision was made to make this year’s event a month-long tournament with digital scoring via the Golf Status App. Play will begin on July 1 and conclude on July 31.

As part of the festivities, participants will have the opportunity to play two rounds or more at Pine Lakes Country Club, Grande Dunes Golf Club, World Tour Golf Links, King’s North at Myrtle Beach National, Pawleys Plantation, TPC Myrtle Beach, and Wild Wing Golf Plantation, seven of the Founders Group International Courses (FGI) and the Myrtle Beach area’s premier layouts.

The $750 entry fee will include a $400 FGI gift card that can be used to cover the cost of tournament rounds, merchandise, food & beverage, a premium Puma polo shirt, ProV1 golf balls, a gift bag, a $25 Rip Tidz dining card, and additional golf at FGI courses.

Golfers will be placed in eight flights, based on handicap, and play a maximum of two tournament rounds, with the lowest score counting toward the standings.

“We are honored to host the Conway Medical Center Golf Classic,” said Steve Mays, FGI’s president. “We look forward to providing players a safe environment and great golf courses to enjoy an event that benefits our entire community. Spreading the event over the course of a month will add to the fun and bring even more people to the tournament.”

After tournament rounds, players will enter scores in the Golf Status app, which is included with entry, allowing participants to enjoy a real-time leaderboard.

“Conway Medical Center has been serving our community for nearly 100 years,” said Ted Milford, CMC Foundation Director of Development. “The CMC Foundation is truly grateful for all of our sponsors, partners and participants that ensure our continued success. We value our relationship with The Founders Group and together we can continue to build on our tradition of excellence in healthcare and service to our community”
