Myrtle Beach golfers in search of good news got a little more with the announcement of two new nonstop flights to the area and the resumption of other routes.
Spirit, Myrtle Beach’s largest carrier, will be launching new service from Akron-Canton to the Golf Capital of the World on April 15, allowing players the opportunity to enjoy the area’s peak spring season.
With Covid-19 cases dropping and vaccination distribution picking up steam, Spirit just resumed flights from Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, almost a month earlier than originally planned.
Delta will begin new nonstop service from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport on April 12, meaning golfers in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” will be just two hours from 90 courses and temperatures in the mid-70s.
Additionally Delta has added capacity on their daily nonstop flights from New York’s LaGuardia Airport to Myrtle Beach through September.
Myrtle Beach International Airport is South Carolina’s busiest and it offers the state’s lowest average fares, a win for golfers who want to shorten travel time.
