The greens had just been aerated and heavy rains led to cart-path only conditions, both not the fault of the golf course.

We liked Wachesaw East but it not live up to the hype and online descriptions. The staff were friendly. We were surprised that that was very little drinking water available on the course, which was greatly missed on a hot day. With a little more attention to conditioning, the course would be more impressive. When we played it was merely comparable to many others in the area and did not stand out.

Great experience. Was paired with three locals, two were only playing nine holes. Nice folks and good conversation. All played from Senior tees. Play was a little slow but not bad.

I was warned by one of your package operators at PGA Superstore, that many of the Southern courses had experienced (a Winter rot) of sorts. This was true here with many greens having deteriorated surfaces, which made playing towards the hole sometimes impossible. Because of split tees we were unable to begin our second 9 (because, horror of horrors) we play too fast.

I hadn't played this course in years. Decided to try it again. I like the layout, and I found the course to be pretty good shape. Not sure if fairways had been cut so they were a bit slow, not much roll. Sandtraps could use a bit more sand and needed to be raked. Also, the greens putted well, but they had been topdressed and had lots of sand. I would play here again, but from past experience, I would not play this course if there had been lots of rain in the area since it can be a "wet" course.

Glad to see that this course is back in good shape after the flood damage last year. The staff was great as well. Greens were great, This is a nice layout which does require accuracy off the tees. We will definitely be back.

We played that course many times. It was sure value until yesterday. The majority of the greens are in really bad condition. Because of it they gave us a round free witch is fair. I would suggest not to play this course right now. Wait for the habitual course conditions.It's usually a very Nice course.

This course is typically in descent shape and a nice layout. However,at present the greens are in very bad condition and in my opinion the course shouldn't even be open until they get this current problem fixed. At very least they should be notifying patrons of the problem when they call in & they should be charging them a reduced rate. I fully realize what a financial burden this might cause but it is totally unfair to pass that burden on to unsuspecting golfers.

This is normally a nice course BUT until the greens are back in shape, it is a bit discouraging. The majority of greens are like putting on cardboard. We understand that the weather has been an issue but that should be told or the customer before the tee time is made.

I like the layout of the course and the staff is friendly but that's about the only good thing that can be said at this point in time. TOO MUCH RAIN and not enough drainage. Carts on path on some holes and should have had the carts on paths on every hole. The fairways are thin and about 1/3 of the greens have NO grass. They are painted and almost unplayable. I would go anywhere before I go back to Wachesaw because putting is a big part of the game. Sorry that I have to give them a bad review but I would avoid this course until the greens recover.

An absolutely beautiful course with an outstanding staff. Fairways are in excellent condition and greens are like velvet. A challenging yet very rewarding course that everyone should play at least once if not multiple times. The grill is excellent for a 19th hole as well. Very good fare with great drink prices! I give it two thumbs up and five stars!

First time to play the course and really no map on the scorecard, so a couple holes had water dangers that I was not aware of. Overall very playable course. Course was in good shape.

Played with a foursome. Each of stated the greens were in avg. to above avg because of a lot of the greens had spots of sparse grass along the perimeter and other areas. The dabs of patchy grass on the greens did not seem to interfere with the roll of the golf ball. Overall-We all enjoyed every aspect of the course and will most definitely return to play again.

I'm a local who lives in the area. First time playing the course and everything was great. Only draw back was the ranger was never seen so the group in front was extremely slow and took multiple tee shots.

I am a local, with membership at Indian Wells. With my brother-in-law from out of state, played your course this week. We found the course in excellent shape (comp to the Super.) the personnel made us feel like we were members. I can't say enough about your operation at Wachesaw East. My brother-in-law is going home, very impressed with the whole experience. Thank You.

Some of the fairways are very narrow in spots especially for golfers who are long off the tee. The greens are very large,fast and in excellent condition.

Course personnel were great. I had made a tee time online for the wrong day, but they figured it out and fixed it quickly. Much appreciated!

We arrived 30 minutes early for our t time and were greeted by very friendly staff at the bag drop.. We went to check in but were told the computer t sheet is down so we cannot sign in come back in 15 minutes That was not a good greeting. We went to putt on the practice green which was large in great condition and very indicitive of the green speeds we saw on most holes. We got to t off 8 minutes prior to scheduled and flew through the round in less than 4 hours. We did not have to wait on any hole any shot. The fairways were very wet, every t shot in the fairway plugged. Guess thats expected with all the recent rain. T boxes were in good shape but chewed up a bit by golfers who did not fix their mishits. For the most part greens were in good shape in general but a couple were still rough from what appeared to be recent ariation. We never saw a ranger on the course although we flew through. But would have liked to see a beverage cart at least once. We did not use the grill. All in all a real good experince would love to play again when conditions are dryer.

We enjoy playing this course very much. The staff is always helpful and the course is always in good condition.

Played at Wachesaw East with 3 friends. We had a fun day and enjoyed ourselves. Clubhouse and bar/grill have been remodeled and are very nice. Bag drop guys and Clubhouse staff are friendly and helpful. There is a great practice range area and practice putting area - convenient to use prior to playing. Course is a nice layout - greens and fairways are in great shape. We had lunch in bar/grill after our round - really good food and drinks at reasonable prices. We had a great day and really enjoyed ourselves

Did not see ranger until 8th green. He did not stop to offer to get our twosome through the foursome in front. Lucky the foursome's pace of play was very good.

Great course. Tee boxes I guess had been just reseeded because they were very high. Play could have been faster. Took almost 5 hours to play.

Well, I have a new favorite course in MB. Previously, it was Glen Dornoch. Now, it's Wachesaw East. I love the course and the staff were great. The course is challenging even though I had to play more Senior tees than I would have liked. My knee and shoulder dictated that. The course design was much better than the other course I played, Shaftsbury Glen. If the LPGA played it a couple of times it must have been good, right? Right! After giving golf lessons all summer, it was a pleasure to get to play by myself last Tuesday afternoon. I could try a couple of shots along the way, not push anyone, and not get in the way. I even spent 2-3 hours practicing chip and pitch shots out of Bermuda rough and putting on Bermuda greens Friday afternoon as a winddown to the week.

I was down there a few weeks ago and just loved it. During the time, I was struggling with my game so I took a lesson with the teaching professional, Bill Gunderman, and it was the best lesson I ever had. The course was in great shape. I really enjoyed the day at Wachesaw Plantation East. Can't wait for next year.

I was with a group of 36 ladies that played Wachesaw East on 9/25/13. It is an excellent course, in great shape and the course staff was most helpful. The day ran smooth and we all had a great round of golf.

I have been playing Wachesaw East for many years. It has a very nice lay-out and I have Never seen the greens and course in better condition.

I have been coming to MB twice a year since 2001 and 2013 was my first visit to Wachesaw. Having played most of the MB courses, I am asking myself why didn't I play here sooner? The course is a treasure, the staff is friendly and accomodating and the grille is a treat. Playing midweek, I had the opportunity to mix with some members and interact with the staff and if I could choose a location in MB to make a permanent home, this is it!

Wachesaw was outstanding golf course love the course. greens rolled great and the shape of the course was great. Proshop staff was very friendly as well as the bag drop. Would recommend this course.

Was paired with another single; very much enjoyed that and the company and his quality of golf. Pro shop had us going off back; starter put us off front. After 1 hole, entire front side was backed up which made for a very long day. Golf is not meant to be played with 10 minutes between shots.

Enjoyed the course. There were some bare spots on tees and fairways but the greens were good. Good layout. Starter was really friendly. Would play there again.

We played on 1/26/13 and had a nice time. I think some of the high ratings are a bit inflated. The greens were not real good with a lot of grain and some of the fairways were thin but overall a nice course. The course winds it's way through a housing community which detracts from the experience. I think there are a lot nicer courses around so I wouldn't pay too much to play here. The staff was nice and obliging.

Great condition, little wet.

Nice track the only drawback is the distance between the holes being a walker it can lead one to forget he's on a golf course. Nice green complexes were running quick. Which is always a good thing.

We played on 1/26/13 and had a great day. The tees are fine, the fairways are a little thin in spots and the greens are very grainy but that may be because it's January. Overall, I enjoyed the layout with some easy and some very difficult holes. I would recommend a trip to Wachesaw East. The staff was very nice to boot.

Good course conditions and enjoyed our round. Finishing hole was a real challenge!

Cart only holes were verbal only. It would have been nice to have a written reminder in the cart. No towels in the carts. We had a great experience for a great bargain.

Great course. Wind was blowing and it was cold as crap, but the round was fun! 90 degree rule in effect, so everybody in our group could enjoy their round! Will definitely play again!

Challenging but not too difficult.

The course was very female friendly. I would like to have a score card with a map or diagram of the holes. I wish they only started people off one side because the second 9 played extremely slow.

Beverage cart free pouring vodka without spout. $6.75 for a short pour is ridiculous. Will not be back.

Overall great course and service with exception to starter. Arrived early bought range balls and after 5 min starter yelled for us to get on tee. It was 20 min earlier than tee time. Wasted range balls and he was cranky/rude.

The course was beautiful and well maintained. The staff were all friendly. However, we had a bad experience as we were behind 3 or 4 groups of women that were very slow. We basically waited for every single shot! I expressed this to the ranger/starter, and he didn't do anything. He said as long as they were within 15 mins., he won't say anything. Oh well, to me these ladies definitely took their time hitting. In addition, the course was very wet. It has been a very bad experience overall. Sorry, we won't come back.

Course was too wet. Needs to improve drainage. Length is fair for 10 handicap golfers. Loved the greens!

Even in spite of the course being wet from all the rain, it was still an incredible visit, spectacular layout and immaculate condition.

This course was in excellent condition and played fairly; the weather was against however with extreme humidity at the onset, and a cart path only policy which led to overheating and an extremely long 18 holes!

I had previously played at Pawleys Plantation and the Wachesaw East course was quite a bit easier. Wachesaw East was a fun course but not quite as well maintained as Pawleys.

Course is in excellent condition - greens held well and putted true. Heat and humidity made the course challenging, but not so tough the enjoyment was taken out of it. Rangers did great job of keeping groups moving - finished round in under 4.5 hours.

We all thought it was a great course. The only issue we had was the amount of standing water, but that was no fault of the course due to the torrential rain the 2 days prior. Overall, a great course, and we will be returning.

Nice course layout with interesting holes. Many of the tees were in rough shape, having to dodge the sand filled divots to fine a spot to tee it up. The greens looked like they had been raked with a wire brush, not terrible, but this had an impact on short putts. Also, on a couple of the holes 15-17 the walking path merges with the cart path, so people are jogging, walking their dogs, etc. right next to the tee, and they walk right next to the fairway, and green. This was very distracting to the higher handicap players in our group ... Overall a nice course to play. The greens could use a little tweak ...

Pro shop staff was excellent and concerned that we would have a good time. Starter was helpful and seemed genuine as he explained the course and related information. Overall good experience and good value.

I liked the layout, the length was good, good challenging course that felt like resort golf, but was still playable.

I feel that the course is a great layout with some challenges off the tee. The big challenge was dealing with the starter and the outside service crew. Just very unprofessional; they didn't take a second to listen to you. They just start ripping your clubs off the cart that I had to put them on. And said my cart is not ready 1 hour prior to tee time. No ride to the range, no dropping me a cart by practice tee, just rude. 10 minutes before my tee time I still didn't receive a cart. This would be the second time I strap my clubs on a cart to get question about that's not your cart it's not ready. I hit the gas, drove to tee box this time, because now I was past my tee time. So if you can work around them there are still great holes of golf to be played out at Wachesaw East.

This is (one of) the most underrated golf courses in Myrtle Beach. Always in great shape and challenging. Just played it on Friday.

Lovely course - friendly welcome from the bag drop to the pro shop to the grill ladies and the starter. Red tees were great for women players. No long carries necessary. Played very fairly for all players. Greens were tough to read, but a good challenge. Very enjoyable for my first MB course. I would come back.

My wife appreciated the location of the forward tee boxes. She enjoyed teeing off 100 yds. ahead of me on some of the holes.

I thought it was a great course and my group was very happy.

Very disappointed with our experience. We booked a tee time for 2 about 4 days in advance. When we arrived at the course we were told we needed to pair up with another twosome already on the 1st tee. We got to the tee and the starter said that group had already teed off and we needed to join them on number 2. We could play number 1 when we finished 18. I could understand this request if we has showed up late for our time or were a walk in, but this will keep me from ever playing here again. Course was in great shape and grass on greens was excellent. Whoever cut the cups that day tended to pull the turf up when removing the plug so putts tended to break away at the cup no matter what line you chose. That was annoying, but understandable. Being made to rush to the 2nd tee was not.

I was wearing a shirt that didn't have an actual collar. This is the same style shirt that many tour players wear on national TV. The guy behind the counter almost didn't let me on the course. Cart attendant was very nice, but worker using the bathroom behind the water cooler on the 6th hole, not so good.

Course was in great shape and a good overall challenge for myself without being too difficult for my son (a junior).

Played on Monday the 13th. Course was in fantastic shape. Greens were immaculate & the fairways were plush. Bag drop greeted me upon arrival & the pro shop staff were very friendly & helpful. Would recommend to anyone!

Best value on the Strand! Course is always in great shape, fairways firm and the greens have subtle breaks. Best staff around. Always on my short list when I go to MB.

Starters are not friendly, it seems like they are doing you a favor in being there. This was consistent with what other guests were saying.

Played there in the FDNY Memorial outing on 5-25-11. Course was in fantastic shape and was the best buy in Myrtle. The absolute best part of playing Wachesaw is the staff! Everyone there went out of their way to see that we had the best possible time. If you're in M.B. and you don't play Wachesaw, you're denying yourself an outstanding golf experience.

Wachesaw was a disaster. In addition to conflicting instructions from the starter and bag drop off staff, we were placed BEHIND a group of 32 players, i.e. 8 foursomes, which we caught at the third hole. These guys took 5.5 to 6 hours to play, making our rounds interminable torture. True Blue on the other hand had a large charity group following us and gave us early enough tee times to avoid any conflict between our round and the charity rounds. As one of our group commented, this is Myrtle Beach - they take your money and forget you. Interestingly enough, we requested at the turn that a ranger, which we never saw all day, expedite play and were assured that would happen. Wrong. We also asked the cart lady to call the pro shop and ask that play be expedited and she commented, It's 3 o'clock, they are all gone. As you might conclude, we will never play Wachesaw again.

I enjoyed the course very much, liked the relaxed cart paths winding through the condos. The fairways seemed like they were finally coming back after a dry summer and the greens held well and putts rolled fairly true. I would definitely golf here again.

The greens will be in great shape in a few days. The only reason we rated them good is there was still a good amount of sand from top dressing. Great course and look forward to playing again.

Course was in good condition. I do not like how this Web site charged my credit card prior to playing. I had no intention of paying for my entire party. Plus 1 of our players was comped as he works at another local course, however my card was still charged for his round.

Since I got my tee time for one person the starter paired me with a threesome and changed my tee time to 30 minutes earlier than I had booked. This was a very nice arrangement and I enjoyed playing with the other three people. The course was in excellent shape and the greens putted true with some speed to them. I had the best putting round I have had in quite awhile. All of the employees made you feel at home and welcomed. The staff seemed to be somewhat disorganized in handling people at both the start of the round and at the end of nine since they were using both nines to start on. The pace of play was very good with our round taking just over four hours. This may have been due to the fact that we were the first group off the tenth tee because the second nine was much slower than the first.

I have played the course several years ago, and remembered the excellent conditioning of the course, but none of the holes left a lasting impression on me, so I thought I'd give it another try. Again, the conditions were excellent, a little soggy in some places from the rain the previous night, but to be expected. The greens were a little slower than I am used to down at the beach, but they rolled true and putts held the line. Lots of subtle breaks on the greens. The Par 3's stuck out to me this time around. Overall, it is a very nice place to play golf, but it probably won't be your most memorable course.

Greens a little slow.

Had the pleasure of a quick pickup game at Wachesaw East last week. It's been about a year since I last played it, and the change (improvement) is noticeable. Course, and staff, are now equal with some of the best GS courses.

I do not have extensive playing experience in Myrtle Beach, but I have a tough time imagining there is a better value. Great course for the price, excellent condition and challenging layout.
