All Are Welcome: Terrazza 19, New Restaurant at Grande Dunes, Sets a New Standard

Grande Dunes Resort Course underwent a significant renovation project in the summer of 2022. The newly restored greens and renovated bunkers elevated a layout that was already among the region’s best, but for area foodies, the biggest story was the opening of the course’s new restaurant, Terrazza 19.

In addition to the work done on the acclaimed layout, the Grande Dunes clubhouse was completely remodeled, leading to the opening of Terrazza 19, which features indoor and outdoor seating.

The most important thing to know about Terrazza 19 is this – it’s not a “golf course restaurant.” Whether you are in town as part of a trip or you are a local in search of a meal, expectations for Terrazza 19 should mirror those you have for a traditional stand-alone restaurant.

From the avocado toast to an assortment of paninis, burgers, wraps, tacos and more, executive chef Sheila LaTour’s menu is creative and the kitchen staff executes her vision to perfection, delivering a dining experience golfers and local residents are flocking to.

Two of Terrazza 19’s most popular items – the Buffalo chicken wrap and Cuban panini – were standouts during a recent lunch. The wrap was chocked full of fried chicken (there was an option to have it grilled) and accompanied by a cheese blend, buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. It was outstanding.

Of course, the Cuban panini (top photo) – pressed with ham, pork, swiss, pickle and mustard – was no less satisfying. Throw in your choice of sides – French fries, coleslaw or potato chips, with an option to upgrade to tater tots, onion rings or mac and cheese, and the post round lunch options are tasty as they are hearty.

Terrazza 19’s appeal doesn’t end with its menu. The new bar, which offers an unobstructed view of the course’s 18th green, has proven to be a powerful draw for golfers who want to enjoy a cold beer or craft cocktail while reliving their day on the course.Terrazza 19 Bar

The impact of the bar, which also includes large screen televisions that beg players to hang around and watch the game, was immediate and with the launch of a new happy hour menu, its appeal will continue to grow.

If the bar vibe doesn’t appeal to your group, the outdoor seating, which offers golf course and Intracoastal Waterway views, certainly will. Heaters and outdoor fire pits – perfect for s’mores – make outdoor seating possible throughout the year.

Bottom Line: How many times do golfers stand around in the parking lot trying to figure out where to go for lunch or dinner? Terrazza 19 solves that problem in the best way possible. To reiterate the point made at the top, this isn’t just a golf course restaurant. The food, ambiance and service are outstanding but don’t take my word for it: eat at Terrazza 19 after your next round at the Grande Dunes Resort Course.
