We know you are going to have a good time on the course, but what are you going to do when the clubs have been put in the trunk for the day on your next Myrtle Beach golf trip?
A walk on the beach and a trip to Brookgreen Gardens are wonderful options, but if we are being honest, those aren’t things a group of guys typically do together. Here are five activities, most of them with a competitive component, your group will enjoy, assuming you can convince yourself they aren’t just “kids” games.
● I’ll start with the low hanging fruit – Topgolf is a must. Myrtle Beach’s Topgolf has 70+, climate-controlled bays, the food is good, and you can even watch a game. By now everyone is familiar with Topgolf, but we aren’t taking it for granted. This is a must on your list of Myrtle Beach’s off-course activities.
● Visiting a PGA Tour Superstore is almost a prerequisite when taking a Myrtle Beach golf trip. Even if you aren’t in the market for new clubs and don’t want to buy anything, the hitting bays, simulators and large practice putting green ensure entertainment for everyone.
● Dave & Busters. I know you are thinking, “D&B is for kids,” but give it a chance. I’ve had more than one good adult night there enjoying a few cold pops while playing air hockey, pop-a-shot, et al. Your group will absolutely enjoy Dave & Busters.
● If you are looking for a more unconventional way to compete, let me recommend Jack Axe Throwing. With two locations – one in Myrtle, the other in North Myrtle – Jack Axe is accessible and it’s a lot of fun. Don’t be intimidated by the concept. A Jack Axe instructor will teach you how to throw and it’s not as difficult as you may initially think.
● Don’t roll your eyes because I’m telling you, your group will absolutely enjoy a trip to the Broadway Grand Prix (formerly NASCAR Speedpark), a go-kart track. There are seven tracks, including three – Grand Prix Pro Track, High Bank Oval and Slick Track – you will race multiple times. It’s unconventional, but Broadway Grand Prix delivers a good time.
A buddies trip is about doing things you don’t normally get to do, and that extends off the course as well so take advantage of your opportunities in Myrtle Beach.
