Five Players to Watch at the MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate

The Resort Course at Grande Dunes is preparing to host the second annual MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate, bringing some of the nation’s top young players to Myrtle Beach.

Sixteen teams will compete in the 54-hole event, and if you enjoy watching great golf (the tournament is free to attend), here are five players to keep an eye on:

Emil Riegger, Maryland – The junior played in all nine events for the Terrapins last season, including a T12 finish at the inaugural MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com Intercollegiate. He posted four top 10s, highlighted by a fifth place showing at the Big Ten Championships, and earned an individual NCAA Regionals bid. Riegger has the game to contend for the title at Grande Dunes.

Sakke Siltala, Texas State – A native of Finland, Siltala is a two-time All-Sun Belt performer who advanced to NCAA Regionals as an individual, where he finished second in the Amherst Regional. The senior had a stroke average of 70.83 last season with 13 rounds in the 60s and four top five finishes. A first collegiate victory could be within reach in Myrtle Beach. (Pictured right)

NaShawn Tyson, Florida Atlantic – Tyson has the ability to go low. The junior recorded 17 rounds of par or better, including a 64 at the UNCW Seahawk Invitational, and made 111 birdies – the second-highest single-season total in program history – as a sophomore. An NCAA Regional qualifier and All-AAC selection, will Tyson’s firepower lead to victory?

Drew SykesDrew Sykes, Coastal Carolina – The Englishman will lead the host Chanticleers. As a freshman, he earned third-team All-Sun Belt honors and was named Sun Belt Golfer of the Week after finishing second at the JT Poston Invitational. Sykes will look to make a statement. (Pictured left)

Jackson Byrd, Clemson – While much of the focus is on returning stars, Clemson freshman Jackson Byrd will be one of the event’s biggest attractions. The son of five-time PGA Tour winner Jonathan Byrd, Jackson was ranked No. 2 in the class of 2025 and was a member of the 2023 U.S. Junior Ryder Cup team. He arrives in Myrtle Beach riding momentum after making the cut at the Myrtle Beach Classic in his PGA Tour debut last May. (Top photo)

These five headline a field that promises to be both deep and talented at Grande Dunes.
