Tournament organizers believe the Myrtle Beach Classic is ready to soar to new heights with the help of its new title sponsor, ONEflight, and a star-studded celebrity pro-am scheduled for the Wednesday of tournament week.
ONEflight International CEO Ferrin Rajput revealed that the private jet company has already received commitments from Kevin Costner, Kurt Russell and Anthony Anderson to play in this year’s event, and he is in discussions with actors Bill Murray and Jon Hamm, in addition to country music star Jason Aldean.
Rajput envisions 18 celebrity foursomes teeing it up in the pro-am of a tournament that enjoyed a rousing start.
“The success of our first year created momentum, and now with Ferrin Rajput and ONEflight helping us elevate the experience, the Myrtle Beach Classic will be even bigger in 2025,” Nelson said. “We want this to be a must-attend event, and adding this kind of entertainment value is a huge step.”
In addition to the celebrity pro-am, the Myrtle Beach Classic will feature two concerts, highlighted by a Saturday night performance from Tyler Hubbard, formerly of Florida Georgia Line. Hubbard counts “Undivided,” “5 foot 9,” and “Back Then Right Now,” among his many hits. Chairmen of the Board, most famous for their hit “Give me Just a Little More Time,” will play after Thursday’s first round.
The second annual Myrtle Beach Classic will be played May 8-11 at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club and will once again feature a field of 132 players competing for a $4 million purse, with the winner taking home $720,000. Coverage on the Golf Channel and Peacock will reach over 120 million households worldwide, putting Myrtle Beach in the national golf spotlight.
While the Myrtle Beach Classic will play opposite the Truist Championship, one of the Tour’s “elevated events,” tournament director Darren Nelson, made it a point to highlight the quality of the field in last year’s Myrtle Beach Classic. Six players in last year’s Myrtle Beach Classic went on to win seven PGA Tour events, including two-winner Robert MacIntyre and Joe Highsmith, who just won the Cognizant Championship.
That doesn’t include teenage sensation and fan favorite Blades Brown (pictured right), who made his PGA Tour debut at last year’s event, finishing T26.
Tournament week will be filled with engaging activities, including a more robust Patriot Outpost for current and former military members, the return of the Junior Golf Clinic, hosted by Project Golf.
Family Day on Saturday promises to be another can’t-miss event, featuring kids’ activities, food trucks, and the ever-popular fan zone. The tournament will also continue its tradition of honoring mothers on Mother’s Day, with Blue Star Mothers once again distributing flowers to attendees.
With over 40,000 fans attending last year, the tournament is poised for an even bigger turnout in 2025. General admission tickets are on sale now, and youth 15 and under receive free admission with a paid adult.
