Allen Terrell, Director of Instruction at the Dustin Johnson Golf School at TPC Myrtle Beach, Earns Another National Accolade

In the last 14 months, Allen Terrell has been named one of “GOLF’S Top 100 Teachers in America,” won the Palmer Maples Teacher of the Year Award from the Carolinas PGA Section, and watched his star pupil, Dustin Johnson, win The Masters.

It’s been an unforgettable stretch for the director of instruction at the Dustin Johnson Golf School, and as 2021 comes to a close, Terrell has added another accolade. Golf Digest released its biennial list of “The Best Teachers in Your State,” and Terrell was included among the Palmetto State’s finest.

Golf Digest ranked Terrell as South Carolina’s sixth best teacher, and he was the only Myrtle Beach instructor to earn a spot on the prestigious list.

Based out of TPC Myrtle Beach, Terrell is the Director of Instruction at the Dustin Johnson Golf School, one of the premier instructional facilities in the southeast. With state-of-the-art technology, indoor and outdoor hitting bays and even a gym, the school is the perfect complement to the TPC golf course, which has been ranked among America’s top 100 public layouts.

Terrell, Johnson’s long-time coach, has helped DJ to the top of the sport, but he works with golfers at every level of the game. From PGA Tour players to newcomers, Terrell and his staff are dedicated to helping golfers play to their potential, and that means understanding your swing and how to execute, whether playing under tournament pressure or just out with friends.

The Dustin Johnson Golf School is home to one of the fastest growing junior programs in the Southeast, and Terrell has been a driving force behind the emergence of the Dustin Johnson World Junior Golf Championship, which is played at TPC Myrtle Beach. The top four players in Golfweek’s Junior Boys Rankings all played in the 2021 DJ World Junior, highlighting the strength of the field.
