Myrtle Beach National – West Course
As one of two sister courses to the heralded King’s North, West Course at Myrtle Beach National also plays through expansive pine forest with a notable absence of homes and development. It’s just you and nature, on a course that offers plenty of room off the tee and plays into greens that, while open in front, feature several that are sloped heavily from back to front.
For all the room that West Course offers off the tee, it won’t exhaust you with its length. All par fours here play less than 400 yards from the middle sets of tees, while the par five holes play less than 500 yards from the same sets of tees – and offer multiple opportunities to reach in two to boost your scoring chances.
The finishing hole at West Course is a par three – a bit unconventional for the market, but also making for a dramatic finish as you steer clear of the water that runs the entire left-side length of the hole.

It's a very open course that forgives if you hit a slice or hook. The pace of play was excellent and never had to wait for a hole to open during the entire 18 holes and only lost two balls. It seem liked the course took quite a bit of rain recently as some of the fairways were wet and some mud had been dragged on a few of the holes. I felt it was a fair price for the round of golf.
Michael
Loved the course, golfer friendly but still challenging enough to enjoy.
Robert
Excellent value for the money, will play the other courses when we return in 2025
Marvin
Me and my wife enjoyed everything about our experience at Myrtle Beach National - West course. From the time we pulled up the staff quickly and courteously unloaded our bags and on to a cart. We recognized the professionalism of this course, they certainly do the volume and handle it very well. Everyone from the clubhouse staff to the starters were extra friendly. The course is in excellent shape and the ground keepers are seen hard at work while you're out there playing. I would recommend this course as one to play when you're in Myrtle Beach.
Chris
Nice
Bob
Loved my day at MBN! Course was beautiful and fun. The people were very friendly. The only slight drawback was the snack bar. Very busy, and not much selection. We will make this course an annual stop on your trip for sure!
Ashley
Boys day out with my sons and they thought the fairways and greens were in good shape overall.

Wonderful day. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. Course was in pretty good condition and pace of play was reasonable.
Kirk
I found the pace of play relaxing and the course to be quite friendly. Sand traps and Tee Boxes need considerable attention.
Trevor
Course was in decent shape, greens rolled well. Pace of play was terrible.
Connie
It was a beautiful course and we thought the conditions were good given it was February.
Mark
Beautiful course and well maintained.
Wayne
Not too challenging and fun. Was our first day so a good course to start on after not playing for a few months.
David
in great shape for late October. staff was extremely helpful.
Craig
Pretty wide open, fun to play in nice shape. Best score of the week for me
Bill
Very nice experience. Friendly design. Decent condition.
David
Nice, wide open course. Despite the current drought circumstances it was in great shape. Entire staff was very friendly but I was shocked at not being able to use a credit card with the beverage cart. While understand the use of cash, it's a massive inconvenience. Even the dumps I play up north take plastic on the course. That really should be a addressed.
Thomas
Super fun course, wide open, great for the average golfer
Bill
Better than I expected. Very friendly layout. Condition was very good, despite the dry weather in Myrtle Beach this spring.
Timothy
MBN West is a credit to the Arnold Palmer name. Very playable and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Wonderful playing by yourself. Unfortunately cart path only
Scott
Nicer than south creek.
Brian
really a 3 1/2* but can't do that on this site. an better than 3* so rounded up.Have played here 1/2 dozen times. for the first time there was no bag drop guy around when we pulled up around 1130am. Not sure if we caught them on shift change or lunch or what. No big deal. check in seamless, prepaid via internet. Diving range still mats only which is always disappointment but early in season so i get it. 2 good size putting greens to warm up around/chip.Don't hold it against them. course is pretty wide open and gets a ton of play but always manage to play in 4 hours or slightly less. Greens on this day while rolling true were a little sparse. i am guessing because it was early in growing season and the really wet winter that the area had. definitely not midseason form but did not hurt the enjoyment of the day at all. fairways were fine. side note this course is one of the better draining courses around which is reason i picked it this go round given the aforementioned wet winter. Was down in January and played Thistle and Blackmoor as well as MBN West and the first 2 were cart path only for all 18 holes and deservedly so. Cart girl was out and saw her twice on each side.
Nathan
Excellent course with opening fairways and great shots into greens that were in a condition that seemed well beyond my expectations.
Amber
Had a great experience playing this course, just wish I could have squeezed a second round in.
Gary
soggy from flooding, early season, no problems with maintenence crew, we enjoyed all other aspects of MBN
Les
Great layout. A bit wet given the recent rain. Some of the fairways were fairly bad due to cut grass and rain build up. Will probably play again.
Kevin
Great course and great layout. Got 5 inches of rain Wednesday and course was in great shape
Greg
this is a great course and in good condition
Chad
Helen
Well maintained, good tee box advantage for women, for comparable priced courses, you won't find anything close to as good shape. Have already recommended to friends.
Gordon
Always nice friendly folks who seem happy to have you. Quality courses as well!
Johnny
Great course for a couple of recreational golfers like my wife and me.
Brett
Great course, easy to navigate.
Joel
Very nice course overall. Fairways little wider than expected.
Timothy
First time playing west course.I liked it a lot. Only down side it was cart path only. It was due to rain the day before. It was fun to play.
Allen
Very fun and nice track. Pace was pretty slow. Only complaint was the greens ran a little slow and fairways needed to be cut. More than satisfied with the course and its conditions for only $38. Starter was very friendly to us and had a nice conversation
Tiffany
I really like the course. Its fun and easy. Staff is very nice as well
Bryan
West is wide and a comfortable parkland experience. It is a place to relax and play. North is the King and the South Course is in between. Love MB National.
Alan
Very playable for any golfer
Tim
Pretty course in great condition
Melvin
fairways were a little spotty but everything else was in good shape
Richard
Great course, excellent condition
Conor
Beautiful course, very well managed for a day they were filled to capacity.
Dave
Great conditions...3 of us played the West course in under 4 hours.
Scott
Excellent just what I was looking for. Wide open and I only lost one ball in 2 rounds. Great for the weekend warrior
Kevin
Started on number one today played with no one infront started early in the cold conditions,so we could not have alot of people in front of us since we were going to play 36 holes today. got to number 10 and 4 groups on the hole.it was totally crazy and the second 9 took 4 hours to play. so if u go there dont get up early and dont freeze trying to get a good early tee time. sleep in and its like u are first on the tee box when u arrive. we will write the MBN courses off our playing courses at the beach. all they care about is the cash and getting the most players as they can.course was great but unless u have 8 hours to play, find another place to play at the beach.
Ray
Enjoyed our round, fun course, friendly staff. Unique finishing up on a par three
Andre
Always enjoy playing the West Course as I can usually make a couple of birdies-friendly staff, helpful
David
good course with lots of forgiveness
John
Very enjoyable
Mark
I happened to have a very good round, so of course I had a great experience! My partner thought it was female-friendly, which is an important consideration as to where we play.
Martin
2nd best course of my week. Myrtle Beach
Paul
Pretty good shape
Chandlir
Very nice golf course. Nice mix of holes.
Bill
had a great time
Scott
I enjoyed the MBN west course. Beat me up good. Greens were wonderful. very true when rolling putts.
Don
Very nice course at a great rate.
Dennis
Very good golf course both for beginners and experienced players. Generous off the tee, but challenging approaching greens. Played with my 2 daughters ( age 22 and 11) and a friend who only plays once a year and we got around in great time.
Joshua
Nice course. In great shape. Greens were fantastic. Good service at front desk and the starters.
Dustin
It was an excellent course and in great condition.
Walter
Good choice for higher handicappers
Lisa
The course was nice. Play was slow. Rangers could do a better job keeping play moving.
Bruce
My FAVORITE course on the Strand!
Scott
Very nice layout.
Scott
Great layout. Very nice conditions.
David
The course provided very wide fairways and very well-maintained greens
Rick
Amazing! Staff was great! Course was maintained. Fairways were wide, but holes were still challenging. Very happy with my experience
Ryan
Decent course. Condition good for the price. Really not many memorable holes, but a great course for a fun and relaxing round for those looking to not take themselves too seriously on the course.
William
Very forgiving course, nice fairways and greens were in great shape!
Randy
Fairways ragged and inserting foursome ahead of morning tee times is not a good thing. Would have been great other than that.
Ty
Really enjoyed it.
George
Beautiful course but not in peak condition
Chris
Disappointed with the course condition Especially the fairways I was told this was due to the dry weather the area was experiencing Would have been nice to know the conditions ahead of time
Chris
Disappointed with the course conditionrnEspecially the fairways rnI was told this was due to the dry weather the area was experiencingrnWould have been nice to know the conditions ahead of time
Ted
Greens are starting to come back after being aerated last week. Some bare spots on tee boxes & fairways but not bad. Pace of play was outstanding 3 1/2 hours for our foursome. Give it a couple weeks & hopefully some rain & it will be fine.
Tim
Course was in great shape and I had a great time.
James
Course was in good shape. Easy checkin at proshop. Pace of play was excellent.
Paul
Average conditions tee to green. Nice greens. Relatively easy course
Dale
good conditions; course is well laid out
Steve
Enjoyed our round here.
Greg
Course was in great shape considering the rain. Played there several times & love it every time.

Like the course
Ralph
The course was in good shape and the pace of play was good.
Jeff
Always play this course first day. Fair, good shape and you can get 18 holes in 4.5 hours or less.
Tim
Nice course. Summer grass had not yet come in.
J
Slower than it should have been but tees, fairways and greens were fabulous. Don't recall Seeing a ranger on the course all day. Very happy with clubhouse and kitchen staff
Dave
The course was in excellent shape. Fairways had not been mowed, but it was 7:50 on a Monday. Staff was pleasant and very helpful.
Bruno
Excellent conditions. The course was very wide open and very mich on the easy side. This was a perfect course for my wife who is just starting to golf. The staff was very friendly and informative.
Ted
Course is in fantastic shape. Plenty of room off the tees but the pin placements were TUFF!!!!! Only complaint was the starter was not very friendly. In fact once he found out we were locals I felt like I was treated like a second hand citizen.
Clint
Great course wide fairways challenging greens not too long great price / value
James
Large facility. Great setup
Craig
Very Nice, well maintained, fun to play.
Ryan
MBN West was the highlight of our trip. It was a challenging, but not too difficult layout and had some of the best rounds from my group. We will be making the West Course a must-play for future trips.
Michael
I liked it. Traditional course in the pines. No gimmicks. Fair with generous landing areas for drives. Good pace of play as we finished in about 4 hours
Larry
Always very nice
James
Great shape. Excellent staff
Joe
REview 5
Ted
Course is in excellent shape. Not a lot of trouble until you reach the greens. Some very difficult pin positions but lot's of fun. It was nice that the fairways were dry & you got lot's of run out on the tee ball. Very busy & we still finished in 4 hours. Staff very friendly inside & out
Chris
Great course, great staff
Eddie
Played this course several times. 90* rule was in effect as fairways and rough still has some VERY wet spots. That said the course was very playable. Our group covered a lot of the course looking for our missed hit balls and found everyone among the trees and in the rough. Course was in overall good shape. Greens were firm and speed was manageable. 2 putted every green. (No 3 putts) Not a flat green on the course, that's why I like it.
Ted
Course is in excellent condition. Pretty wide open fairways but very tough greens. Don't be above the hole. 1st group off this morning & still finished in just over 4 hours with double teeing.
Ted
Course is in excellent condition. Pace of play was under 4 hours for our foursome. Greens looked fast but putted a little slow which took a few holes to get used too.
Don
Played the West course. Great condition. Always look forward to playing here.
Don
Played the west course. Great condition. Always look forward to playing here.
Ted
Tee Boxes, Bunkers & Greens are in very good shape. Fairways were spotty & brown ( not sure why with all the rain we had this July & August ) Pace of play was excellent Just under 4 hours.
Ted
Overall the course is in good shape as compared to just 2 weeks ago when it was almost unplayable. Kudos to the crew all around. Good Job!!!
Jonathan
Very nice course and very friendly staff. Will definitely play here again.
Frank
We played recently on our spring trip, and our entire group was VERY please with the course and the condition of the course. As good or better than some higher priced tracks!
Ted
Course is in very good shape tee to green. Some of the best kept bunkers in MB. Pace of play was outstanding. Staff always very nice. Not overly difficult course but enough challenges to make it interesting. Good warm up course to start you golf vacation or just a nice place to play if you live here. Holes 15 thru 18 are nice finishing holes. Recommend playing here.
Ted
Tee Boxes & Fairways are in excellent shape. Greens have recently aerified but still putted very true & fast. Staff were very friendly & seemed concerned because of the heat. Kept reminding us to drink plenty of fluids. Pace of play was good 4hrs 10mins with foursome & extreme heat
David
Opening course of our trip, so quite a gentle start. Not too taxing, nothing stunning but a nice solid course where everything is laid out in front of you. Not bad condition either.
Mark
Enjoyed playing this course, it is open and fairly easy with no water. Good starting course to get warmed up. Should have played the back tees or hit 3-wood of the tee as there were many dogleg holes where a 240yd drive means your through the fairway. Greens were decent and rolled well but had bare spots. We were early for our tee time but were hurried to play with the other twosome who was even earlier than us. I would play this again as a warm-up course, but the King's North course is a much more challenging layout but not in any better condition than the West course.
Danny
Best course we played all week. Greens and fairways in great shape. Played with two guys from Myrtle Beach area who were a great help. Staff in pro shop as well as greeters were excellent. Would recommend this course to anybody. Great course for men and women very fair. Can't comment on grill since we didn't eat here but the club house is beautiful and very well kept.
Ted
Bag drop very busy with 3 courses but enough help to move you along. Counter people not overly friendly. Pace of play on front nine was very good, Back nine slowed down quite a bit. Wide fairways, lots of bunkers around greens. Course was in excellent condition.
David
Greens are very nice right now. The course was very wet due to all night rain but it was still in pretty nice shape. It's a very fair and fun course to play.
Roland
Nice course in good shape. It was cart path only, although it appeared to be dry enough to ride on the course.
John
Played in the afternoon after an all-morning rain. Even with the wet, the course was in excellent conditions and fun to play. Different set-up than that the North course, the West course served up enough challenges, especially having traveled over 7 hours that day to play.
Gilles
Excellent.
Mac
Very good overall.
Seldon
Very good.
Charles
Average MB golf course! Good layout! Good job setting pin for average golfers! Our group has been playing for 27 years, and have played about all courses at MB. Overall good course!
Crystal
Good.
Dewey
OK course at best, hate the Bermuda Greens, too long for Seniors even from the gold tees.
John
Very friendly staff, had a car problem a staff member gave me a jump and told me were the nearest Honda service center was.
Doug
Loved it -- great course.
Eddie
We have a group of 20 guys that comes down every year. Everyone was very happy with the course. The tees were excellent, fairways were excellent and the greens were in great shape and fast. I would highly recommend this course for anyone planning a golf trip. I've played both the other MBN courses and this one is just as nice as the others. King's North has a few fancier holes, but we really enjoyed the West course. Beautiful holes, well manicured. The only problem I had was my cart stopped working on the second hole. I had to make 2 calls to the clubhouse and finally 18 minutes later they brought me a new cart. Being on the second hole near the green, the clubhouse was only 300 yards away. Three other groups went through while my group waited. I finally decided to walk to the clubhouse to get a new cart myself. I got halfway there and noticed someone was finally on the way. It happens, but they were very slow in responding. It's the only bad mark I gave them.
Albert
Outstanding.
M/M
Hard to rate the course because it was so wet from the rain.
Michael
Very playable course.
Scott
Traditional starting course for our group because there isn't too much trouble wide of the fairway (for the rare ball not down the center). MBN clubhouse and staff always nice.
Lonnie
Fantastic
Jeff
Really good
Hugh
Attendants at lot were stars - very friendly, helpful people. Starter was a grumpy, mean man.
Jim
Starters were good....Attendants very disorganized as usual . They have no idea about your tee times / when to load you up or when to send you out to the starter. No one is in charge out there. We had to grab our own carts and load our own bags on to our carts, while attendants socialize with others...We have been playing myrtle national for over 15 yrs and your attendants out front are always this way. we have come to expect it at Myrtle National. Other courses we play at run so much more efficiently/ in control when it comes to the out front attendants. ,,,But we keep coming back because we like your courses and club house
John
My favorite course in Myrtle Beach. Love hole ##18.
Timothy
We played on 2/23/14 and had a good day with the weather and the course. It's an easy course relative to the other Myrtle Beach courses. It is a nice starter course for people just starting their golf for the year. The course is wide open with plenty of room for error and recovery. The greens were in good shape and a little tricky with some good slope. I would recommend it to high handicappers and beginners.
David
Beautiful course! Very well laid out and manicured.
Earnie
We've played MBN West a number of times and always enjoyed it until this trip. Although the staff was technically correct, we felt they could have been a little more player friendly. Won't be back for awhile.
Don
My 2 sons and I played MB National on Dec.30.(I have played the course before). MB National-West is an excellent course. From the regular tees the average golfer has a chance to score well if the short game is working. I like the fact that from the men's tees, the course is not too long and most of the fairways are forgiving. The course was in good shape and the staff was excellent. I shot an 82 which is good for me. Best course on the strand for the money.
Gil
Enjoyed everything!
Richard
Great layout, greens were excellent. A fun 18 hole course. Starter was a little pushy. Just pulled our cart up and he rushed us off the first tee in a hurry and we ended up waiting on groups in front of us most of the front 9. We couldn't even warm up.
Francis
Again, wet due to overseeding. very good course
Robert
I really liked the fact I could find my yardage from anywhere after my drive. The greens are faster than im use to. Missed some short putts.
John
Beautiful course & grounds, well maintained. Staff treated me very nice.
Elizabeth
Nice course. In good shape. Fun to play and staff very friendly. Played this course last year and again this year. Will stay at the top of my list of courses to play for next year!
Richard
Good overall course. Nothing superior or lacking.
Patti
The greens putted true even though they'd been sanded.
Raymond
Excellent challenge, . Enjoyed the lack of water dangers, but enough trap and water to keep one honest
Dan
One of the most enjoyable rounds I have ever played. Superb conditions and the staff treated me as if I were the most important person they had met. Ever.
Don
Super fast greens but rolled true. Very nice layout. Teed off in the first group at 7:30, they doubled up the tees front and back. Made the turn at 9:10 and had to wait until 9:39 to tee off the back nine but pace was still about 2 hours for back nine. Very enjoyable round of golf.
Sid
Availability of chipping green.
Lou
Excellent conditions, greens rolled true, fairways well maintained. Excellent dollar value, highly recommended. Also played King's North, pristine.
David
First time I have ever seen sprinkler heads in the middle of tee boxes! Did like having map at each hole with outline of hole showing water etc. very disappointed that grill closed when we made turn as we needed food and water and it was only 6 pm. No one there when we finished and there were groups behind us
Todd
Played here over the weekend and I must say I was very impressed with the condition and layout of the course. With inviting fairways and rather large greens, this course is a golfers dream. Everyone in the Pro Shop was very friendly, especially the ladies behind the snack bar. Saw the beverage cart plenty of times throughout the day to keep us hydrated when it was scorching hot. I got a glimpse at the two other courses at the facility, King's North and South Creek, which was tempting to go play another 18 on either of those. Very pleased with my experience and Myrtle Beach National will always be on the list.
Joe
The course was nice but I wouldn't say anything stuck out as been great. Course was in decent shape and had some interesting holes. I was disappointed in the group of employees (starters) that were playing behind our group. They were rude and disrespectful to members of our foursome. We were playing at a good pace and still had to deal with them. Employees especially should cater to paying customers.
Matthew
Well kept!! Nice course!
Robert
We switched to the Southcreek course and really enjoyed the course.
Dennis
MBN is always a great place to play. Offer a lot of options from King's North, South and West. Staff is very friendly and helpful when needed.
James
Best I played on this trip - greens were good no blind water, just a good course
Dale
The course was a blast, the starter was not very friendly and was rude. We Had a 9:06 start time when I handed the starter my receipt he said he would be right with us that it wasn't our turn, that we were 5 minutes early, then he sent 2 groups that had a 9:14 starting time out before us, even thou we were there before them.
Amy
Should be more water coolers available on the course, not water fountains, those are not hygenic
Dave
Great, a little issue with tee times
Rick
Starter was rude and impatient probably due to handling such a large volume of golfers.
Dave
Its not Kings North by any means but still a great course It was in good shape and was great for my wife and son
Calvin
Player friendly.
Jason
The PRO shop was like a retail store very very busy and just pushing people through. BUT, the starters were very nice, most of the fairways were excellent, three or four didn't have a nice grass growth. The greens were excellent.
Robert
Had a wonderful time and a good round. Course seems very fair. Had my best round there.
Richard
Excellent staff and facility. Everyone would enjoy playing it.
Kevin
Great course in excellent condition. Pretty tough track from the Blue tees. 18 is 225yd par 3 over water. Lay-up to the right if you have any wind at all!
Paul
Greens were slow and hard to read.
Michael
Thought the course was in great condition for this time of year. Thought the rate of play could have been better. Slow groups had rhythm all messed up for round
Danny
Rained, would like to come back
Kenny
Terrific
Jackie
The starter was a bit rude (as were some of the players waiting at the first tee... complaining about the tourists and how they shouldn't be allowed on the course!). Luckily we were playing with a very nice couple and the day turned out to be a lot of fun. Would definitely play here again as we loved the course and it was a good one to start with after not golfing for months!
Michael
Course was in great condition even with the dormant rough. Facillities were clean and grounds well manicured. Bag and proshop staff were great. Starter was ok...didn't really infom us about the course, no tee reccomendations for the mixed level group, was more concerned about time, than our enjoyment...only downside. Would certainly comeback to play the other courses.
Joseph
Very playable for all handicaps. Fairways are great but the lies are a little tight. Greens are challenging with many slopes and breaks. Could use a little more sand in bunkers.
Jared
Played on Friday 2/22. Some rain and cold but MB National was great. Staff was friendly and helpful, even the nice ladies in the snack bar and restaurant. Course was fun, fairly flat but perfect for the day. I would go back again and play.
Chris
Course in excellent condition and everyone was very friendly.
Mark
Love the overseeded tees and fairways in the the winter time. Love that there are no homes on the course--not a residential golf course. All the greens, w/ very few exceptions were tilted from back to front--if you are above the hole, expect to three putt--very disconcerting. A lot of back and forth from one hole to the next on the front nine, back nine much better about that. Enjoyed the experience though--not sure I would go back w/ so many choices in Myrtle Beach, except to play the King's North course--that looks like a major step up from the West and South courses.
Edward
Really enjoyed.
Matt
Always a great course to play, unfortunately we got rained out and were unable to finish.
Craig
How fast the greens were but anyways I would love to come back to play the other two courses for sure but a Junior Tournament was going on.
Chuck
Excellent!
Barry
Great golfing at this course - was in excellent condition- looking forward to coming back to play the other 3 courses at this location.
Barbara
Loved this course. Second time I've played it.
Kevin
As always one of my favorite plays at Myrtle Beach. Great attitudes from all employees. Course in very nice condition. Played with a couple from London, England and had a wonderful time.
Stewart
Great layout, day was very cold and ball wasn't traveling but once I got used to it my score greatly improved. Would play it again anytime.
Walker
An open course with challenging pin locations provides a pleasurable round. Met some new friends and had a great time. Will play again.
Joe
Great weather and course was in excellent condition. Had the pleasure of playing with Chuck, your retired photographer. Would love to do that again!! Thanks.
Bill
Greens were fast and true. MBN is an excellent facility. We have played the West and South courses.
Dave
I really like this course layout and level of difficulty. Clubhouse staff both pro shop & lounge were very friendly. Nice experience and will play here again.
Jack
Liked all aspects of the club.
Ed
Tremendous golf course.
Daniel
Great course to start the week. This course has all the extras that you would expect. Fast greens. Available GPS would be nice.
Nick
(Would like to have known prior to play) that they do a double crossover.
David
Course conditions were excellent. Impressive clubhouse.
Edward
Nice layout.
Richard
The course is very solid and enjoyable to play. It is definitely challenging from the tips. Everyone in our group enjoyed the course. No complaints.
John
It was very good.
Tom
(Liked the) greens, fairways.
Paul
I'm good.
Tom
Very vanilla but great for my wife.
Wayne
My 10 year old son and I had a great time playing on the course. The round was a little slow but nothing too bad. We were paired up with another twosome which I expected. The course was in good shape and the staff at the bag drop off was very nice.
Bob
Nice layout, pretty course. Felt rushed in the beginning, people behind us were rude.
Warren
OK course.
Steve
The course was challenging but not difficult, perfect for my level of playing.
Oscar
The course is in great shape. Greens were relatively fast. The West Course is generally open. Lots of water, but little of it is in play. Bunkers were generally firm, as a result of the rain that has hit the area. But they played well. The rough penalizes mishits, due to the Bermuda grass that is tough to get out of, as it should be. Attention to detail by the staff was amazing. I booked online a couple of months ago, and when I showed up, everything was waiting. A completely enjoyable experience.
Matt
Wonderful course! First time we played there and conditions were above par. Only problem was over watering, so small amount of rain left standing water on fairways, thus cart path only. Some holes force you to shape shots are you could end up in trouble or have a long second shot. Overall a great course and for the price $35 it cannot be beat.
Joshua
The West Course allows you to hit your longer clubs off the tee yet still demands them to be placed in the correct area of the fairway for a good approach into the greens. The greens are second to none in my 14+ years coming to Myrtle Beach. I loved playing this course and will play it again upon my return to MB!
Jim
Just all around great at MB National.
Randy
Course was really nice for what we got to play. We got rained out after the 5th hole. We have rain checks and will make a trip back to play the course again.
Michael
Rough was difficult but made you have to hit a good drive, not real straight putts.
Richard
Great course, superior condition and service. Quick check in.
Kevin
The conditions were good. I found the course to be fair and there is plenty of room to hit fairways.
Randy
Course in great shape. Yardage marked well.
Timothy
Great Course. Well maintained!
Michael
The only thing I didn't like was I could tell the greens had recently been punched and they were very slow, but I understand that is something that has to be done.
Patrick
Course was in great shape. The starter was excellent. The only drawback was a slow foursome in front of us.
Larry
A great experience. Staff very helpful and attentive. Will definitely book again on any return visit. Thanks for great memories.
Abrusley
The course was in EXCELLENT condition despite the time of year. Very, very hilly fairways and the greens were extremely difficult to read. Challenging but we had a great round! It was a beautiful championship type of course and we enjoyed it so much! The staff was excellent and the clubhouse was beautiful! We really enjoyed the experience!
Menard
As I played single, the starter made it easy for me to join a group of three golfers and I had a very nice round. The marshall came to see us at a time to explain the delay in the play on that day.
Brian
Our threesome got stuck with a female single golfer - she was OK, but it's not fair to do that to three guys in a group. Other than that, it was great.
Jason
This being my first time on any of the National courses I was pleased. The fairways were forgiving and the greens were fairly soft for this time of year. The course was in good shape considering the extremely high temps over the past couple of weeks. Due to the heat, the fairways and greens were showing signs of stress. I will definitely be playing this course again in the cooler seasons!
Todd
Always good conditions.
Pierre
(Liked the) greens.
Walter
Had a great time. Course was great for all level of players. Greens were a little bumpy due to having been aereated not too long ago. Difficult enough for better players but not too difficult for double digit players. I've played it before and I will play it again.
Charles
Beautiful course. Challenging but fun.
Andy
Course is fun to play. The greens were a little tough.
Eric
A very good course for average to beginner players. Course was in good shape, and enjoyed playing between all of the pines. Not much water in play.
Richard
Very nice! Played West this year & SouthCreek last year, the entire complex is Top Notch!
Sam
Staff was very cooperative.
Ronald
Unfortunately it rained the whole round ... the greens were excellent and very consistent ... but the rain made it tough to hold on to the club and I mis-hit a lot of shots ... the course was wide open and I only had one penalty which for me is wonderful.
Bob
Very playable for a mid/high handicapper. Really enjoyed the course!
James
Very playable for the average golfer.
John
Too bad it's a power cart required course. It would have been a great walking round.
Richard
Staff were very polite. I would have liked better weather, rained almost the whole game.
Roger
Friendly staff and pro shop. Greens in good shape.
Steve
Outstanding golf course.
John
Nice course - no real trouble.
Shawn
Got to course 30 min. ahead of tee time to warm up, went to range, realized we needed a token, went back to clubhouse and was told we did not have time and was refused a token. Clubhouse clock is set 10 min. fast. Marshalls and rangers were very nice.
Robert
(Liked the) condition of fairways and greens.
Daniel
Probably the group's favorite course in MB! Great pro shop, men's clubhouse and grill. We play it every year on our last day, great place to change clothes, eat lunch before our drive back to Ohio. We'll be back!!
Rick
Great course. Lots of variety. Risk/reward on several holes make for interesting day. Our foursome also played the West course. Next year we plan to play all three because we were impressed with the great conditions of the whole facility and the proximity to our resort.
Shirley
The course is very well maintained. Playing early made the greens a little challenging with the wetness, but once it warmed up it was great!
Karl
S,low play waited all day. 5:15 to play round - same thing happened last time. We are not great golfers but we play ready golf and it is always slow there!
Rodney
Loved the course, could not have had a better day, everyone was so nice, will play again soon.
David
First time playing here. Pace of play was OK for a busy course (4.5 hours).
Donna
Course was very WOMEN friendly. Great shape. Everyone was very friendly.
Anthony
Enjoyed the experience.
Jeff
Amazing course I would play again every chance I had.
Kevin
Staff was great.
Michel
We were the first ones out at 7:30 a.m. We were less than impressed with our starter. He had us literally driving in circles to the tee and then he tells us that we had to wait 20+ minutes before he could allow us to tee off. We played fairly quickly, and when we came up to the turn, he pretty much admonished us for playing so quickly and told us to wait while a group of 16 in front of us started off. There were three in our group and two in a group behind us and they were pretty much told the same thing. So we all waited quite a while for the groups in front of us to get going. Not at all impressed with that part of our golf experience.
Robert
Best course we played in Myrtle. Looking forward to playing the other 2 courses next time. Liked everything.
Joseph
It's a great course and we like playing all the courses at MBN; however, it would have been nice to know the course was so busy we had to wait for a cart to come in before being able to play. This backed up our tee time and created confusion, forcing us to miss hitting balls off the range before playing.
Dom
Greens were pitiful! Nice layout.
Colin
Wanted to play South but I was confused when I made the booking. Really liked West; greens were excellent. Will always play MBN last day because on the way home.
John
Good conditions, playable fairways, not over long from white tees.
Daniel
Well kept and challenging.
Jeff
Very nice golf course. Lots of great scenery.
Dan
The West Course is always a pleasure, MB National is always welcoming. Great to see the juniors out for their tournament. Our daughter competed in the George Holliday many years ago. First-class tournament, keep up the good effort.
Eddie
Everything I expected from tee box to green. Excellent facility. King's course next trip.
Ryan
Wow! What a place to kick off the golf vacation! I have never seen anything like this Arnold Palmer compound. Amazing clubhouse and staff was very friendly and helpful, especially our starter Tony DiBart. The practice facilities were great. I have never seen a course so busy but we weren't even paired. Pace of play was excellent for how busy it was. Course was in excellent condition and very playable. Pretty easy to score. Not too much trouble and you were able to bump up to most greens. Fairways were in great shape and greens rolled true. Perfect place to kick off the vacation and get the confidence up.
Shane
We were down in Myrtle Beach for the first time during the weekend of March 23rd and played five courses. Myrtlewood, MB National West, MB National SouthCreek, Man O' War, and Wicked Stick. MB National had the most organized course by far. They appeared very concerned about the pace of play and the tee time structure was very good. We moved along with very little delay. We liked SouthCreek more then the West course. Would like to try the North course next time. Nice course.
Jason
Everything was top notch as usual, can't beat this course for the money and overall value.
Leonard
Very nice condition. A little confusing getting around as the people working at the course did not seem to anxious to be helpful. Overall experience was good.
Dennis
Course is pretty wide open. Good for the beginner to moderate player. Shouldn't lose too many balls. For mid-March the course was in good shape.
Reese

The staff in the pro shop are great people. They serve you directly with a smile and make sure that you get the best price.
The only problem was the starter. He held us up for a 4-some that was late. The 4-some start time was 8:04, but they didn't show up until 8:12. The entire number one fairway and green was open as we stood waiting on the foursome that was late. He should have let us go so that they rest of the tee times didn't back up.
Crystal
My husband especially likes this course because it is wide open and playable. Also, there are no houses on the course! It is woman-friendly which I like. It is our favorite course when we come to MB.
Wayne
Not much terrain differential, course fairly flat, staff and starter very friendly and helpful (i.e., gave course info and cart rules without having to be prompted).
Patrick
Course was packed, but pace of play was very fast, and we finished in 4 hrs. 5 minutes. Very forgiving to my one son who is a novice golfer, but still enough challenge for the other son and me.
Vincent
Greens are in great shape. Large bunkers but approach shots could be bumped through on most holes.
Mike
Course had a nice layout and was in excellent condition. The greens rolled nice, not too fast. Pro shop needs logo balls for each course; could not get for West Course.
David
Liked course. Pace was good.
Ross
The course is in excellent shape. Clean and well maintained. Bag drop, cart staff and starter are very friendly and make you feel welcome upon arrival. The course can be very forgiving if played sensibly. Although we played our first nine in under two hours, our back nine took 2 hours and 45 minutes. Didn't see a course ranger at all.
Vincent
One of my all-time favorite facilities. All three courses are fantastic and the people that work there are first-rate.
Timothy
We played on 2/9/2012. Overall good course that plays easy. The fairways had some thin spots and the greens are painted but they putt true. I would recommend this as a feel-good course.
David
Staff were very courteous and helpful. Greens were smooth and fast even though they had been sprayed.
Daniel
Many enjoyable rounds on MB West, always in great condition. The greens are consistent and just the right speed, never a bad lie on the approaches. Haven't scored this well in some time. Staff, always congenial and helpful. The West course is one of the best deals in MB.
Allen
The course was well maintained and in very good shape. I picked this course because I have a high handicap, and though the course is challenging, it is forgiving on bad shots because when you miss the fairway, you can still hit your ball with very little chance of losing your ball. This course is very good regardless of your handicap and I would recommend it to anyone coming to Myrtle Beach.
Maurice
(Liked the) layout, but not speed of play - members walk, and are very slow.
Ron
The staff was great. Course was in great shape, will definitely play here again.
David
Fast greens and wide fairways that are tree lined. Very challenging course and demanding shot placements.
Mattie
Wide fairways.
Michael
We play the West Course every time we come down. Love the whole complex at Myrtle Beach National.
Michael
Good course, even though it seemed extra wet around the greens and tee boxes.
Anthony
Wide fairways make for faster play.
Gayla
Nice friendly course for women. In very good condition.
Nelson
Good layout. Know about overseeding and other unique aspects of course.
David
Greens were great.
Barry
Nice layout, but not very green. Perhaps between grass seasons and tees were well worn.
ArtMBgolf
Fairway/tee conditions were very good. The new in 2011 Mini-verde greens were smooth, firm and fast. This course is forgiving and good for a warm-up round as needed. The pine tree lined holes are cleared out in the trees, so it's easy to find the ball and punch out, possibly with a shot to the green. There are only 2 places you can hit it into water and both are hooks, with one a par 3. The steep back to front tilt on most of the greens presents some interesting approach shots and putts. New sand was added to the greenside bunkers. The fox squirrels at MBN will go into your cart and eat out of your hand.
Frank
All of the MBN courses are great, and all are in excellent condition. All staff are friendly, courteous, and helpful, and our experiences have been extremely enjoyable.
Tony
The starter was very pleasant and informative.
Joe
Loved the course; had a ranger on the course making sure we were in keeping on time along the course; was the best-conditioned course of all 4 that we played.
William
Greens were much better than in the past.
Jason
As usual the West Course was in great shape. Greens were very firm, but consistent throughout.
Michael
Beautiful golf course and challenging for players of my level.
Joseph
Fair playing course.
Kenny
Everything about the course was great from condition to the challenge of the holes.
Tom
There had been several days of rain prior to our date of play, course was still quite wet, greens were great.
Pete
The play was slow.
Kenneth
I would recommend this course to any one who enjoys golf.
William
The course was in excellent condition. The sand traps were like white sandy beaches and usually my weak spot, but not today. I was on fire on every trap I landed in, which today was quite a few. I was out and close to the pin in one shot.
Eddie
Played om 10-12-11 after 3 dates of on-and-off rain that was heavy at times. 7:30 tee time and only one hole was wet, greens were soft, fast and rolled true. Great place to play. Only lost one ball (in lake). Course people are nice. Golf cars are in great condition.
Jay
Should allow coolers.
Lyn
Have played at this course many times through the years.
John
I've now played MBN South Creek, West and King's North. The courses were in great condition, the rate was reasonable for the value, and really liked the staff there. I'll be back next fall!
Mark
Awesome course! My favorite of the weekend. Very challenging greens!
Donald
There was too much confusion at the bag drop area, no one was telling anyone where to go. It was seemed like a factory just trying to push more and more people through. Also, there was way too much traffic on the course. Carts repeatedly were driving up and down the cart paths. Several with two women and they were constantly talking while we were playing. I have never experienced this kind of activity on a golf course.
Harry
Great condition and always fun to play.
Douglas
Very nice course. Challenging, and beautiful.
Alan
Good experience.
Michael
Although very crowded & busy, starters and cart crew did an excellent job - course wet (from weather) but overall in super shape.
John
Enjoyed our round that we played ... we actually replayed the course again after our first round - we are just average golfers but enjoyed the layout and challenges it brought us.
Larry
We knew it would be expensive to eat at an on-course restaurant, but decided it was one time, and it was convenient. The hamburger was terrible, and $17.50 was insane for two bad burgers, a bag of chips, and two candy bars.
Thomas
Even though I was a single I was paired with two locals (one worked for the company) and I had a great time.
Gerald
New greens! Very nice, but it was very wet so we couldn't judge whether they were too fast or too slow that day.
Martin
Very enjoyable.
Robert
We started play on the 10th tee of the SouthCreek course and after finishing 9 holes had about a 45-minute wait before we could tee off on #1. Roger (the starter) was very helpful and professional and went to the starter on the West Course to inform him that we may be a little late for our 1300 tee time on that course due to the backlog on the SouthCreek course. He came back and informed us that all was well and that the starter was aware of our situation, but everything worked out well after all. I was most impressed with the clubhouse and all of the Arnie pictures and items on display. Just a wonderful time at your facility, enjoyed it very much and look forward to playing there again.
Chris
One of our group's favorite courses, play every year.
Michael
Very nice golf course. Straight forward. I didn't have to know the course to play it, which is great for someone visiting and playing the course for the first time.
Kevin
Course was in fantastic shape ... tees, fairways and greens ... it's a gem for the price and it's on my list of courses to play every time I visit Myrtle Beach.
Norman
Nice course; wide open with good greens.
Adam
Great course! Tees and fairways were excellent. Greens were a little too soft but rolled very smooth and true. Would definitely recommend to others!
Kevin
Great course. Greens were real soft.
John
We had a blast playing the West Course, also enjoyed the starter who made us feel great, came by and checked on us and made sure no one ran up to us, starting us on the back first. He was the reason we played another 9 holes. Even greeted us at the end of our round and sent us off right with another laugh. We would golf at MBN again due to this treatment we received.
Tony
Forgivable play for a mediocre player. Not a frustrating course for a casual player. I will be back.
John
Good course. No beverage cart on a hot day was a minus! Green maintenance is poor.
Jim
Always a good experience at MBN.
Robert
Nice course, great value. Play here a few times a year.
Johnny
Wide open, not very challenging but in very good condition.
Ryan
It was nice.
Roger
Always in great shape. Friendly staff. Fun course.
Joan
Course was very attractive, holes were well laid out and senior friendly.
Shane
Overall good experience ... poor green conditions and the sand in the traps was not consistent. I don't understand how the South and West courses are the same $ when the South seemed far superior.
Brad
Great course for the money. Always enjoy Myrtle Beach National. Been to Myrtle many times and never disappoints. Great pro shop, grill and staff. Enjoy the squirrels there; they'll eat right out of your hand.
Nathan
Everything was great.
Sheila
Wide fairways for the most part; a forgiving course; a few holes requiring accurate shot placement; place your shot below the pin, most greens sloping - a great experience.
Stephen
Very nice course, not super long but made you keep it in play. Very windy afternoon, made for some changes in club selection. People were first rate there. Enjoyed myself all day!!
Ralph
An ideal course if you are looking for one with few obstacles and easy flow.
Timothy
I would avoid this course if I could. We played 2/18/11 and the greens were the worst I've seen in Myrtle and I've played 11 other courses since January. The course stuck a foursome in front of us at the turn and they were weak golfers who backed up the course. I called them in to the pro shop and was told I will try to find a ranger. NO ranger ever showed up and the back nine was a death march. Totally ruined our day. We got into the grill and there was only two people working, and at 1 p.m. there was a steady flow of people. My advice is to find another place to eat and review your day. Overall, I will not go back unless it's the only course available. I played here last year and things went well but this year was a very bad experience.
Chad
Excellent course!
Wayne
I liked the West Course just fine, but a couple of my friends thought the fairways were too sparse. They didn't think that there was enough grass on the fairways. What I mean is that they wanted the fairway grass to be a little higher.
Yvonne
Unfortunately, I secured my tee time with my charge card and you put it through and then realized your mistake credited me but I was left with a $5 gap, considering exchange rate, etc. We were using a rain check so there should have been no charge.
Pat
Beautiful course! First time playing in Myrtle Beach ... was a little nervous being a new golfer, but we were paired with another couple who made the round very enjoyable. Got off to a late start because of the frost ... a little congested at the start, but otherwise a wonderful day!
Mark
Fun course to play.
Grant
MBN West was great. However, we also played at Tradition and felt we should have been told it was cart path only as one of the guys in our group had a hard time walking all day.
Richard
First time I played this course. I liked that it was fairly wide open. Greens were in great shape. Would play here again. Clubhouse was very professional.
Dane
Staff was very accommodating in seeing we got all 36 holes in that we signed up for.
Roger
We usually love everything about this facility but the greens were in tough shape - golfers left divots all over the place. And the pin placements were brutal!
Bob
(Would like to have known prior to play) if the greens exceptionally fast, and how crowded does the course get on certain days.
Jason
I was pleased with the overall experience. We took advantage of the tee time discount and it made the round very affordable. The course overall was in good shape, the greens were fast and other than the ball marks were in good shape.
Tim
Nice starter course ... a little more wide open and forgiving. Always a good staff and MBN ... greens were a little rough compared to other places.
Ken
I enjoyed the course, it was in very good condition, nice pace of play and friendly staff. Very enjoyable.
Walt
More open. Less hidden hazards.
Richard
The West Course was enjoyable to as tough as South Creek but the seven of us had a great time. Open, couple of water shots, no real challenges, just a good course - not hard and not easy. More of a relaxing course than a mental course. Had fun, would play again - probably on first day as a warm-up round. B-
Steve
Loved the course layout. Wide-open fairways but the greens were not in the best shape. Still enjoyed it though. Staff was pleasant enough. Played the round in 4 hrs., it moved along nicely. Will come back.
Jeremy
The greens were re-done a week before I got there.
Scott
The course was well maintained and even though there was a pro am in process the staff was still attentive to our needs.
Michael
Good course, wide open. Got rushed by the starter on the back 9.
Carl
Great course, good layout, staff were very good and friendly, greens were in poor condition (lots of marks and small holes) but still enjoyed the course.
Timothy
The greens were horrible. Very bumpy, just aerated.
Shannon
I liked the speed of play on the course.
Bobby
Golfer-friendly course. Greens were not in good shape at the time but were playable. Every other aspect of the course was in great shape. Enjoyed my round.
Peter
Need to change junior pricing. I should not have to pay full price for a 13 and 10 year old.
Pierre
The greens were bad. Apart from that it was a good first course to try in Myrtle; not difficult, lots of space.
Douglas
Everything was outstanding. You might want to update your directions with Mapquest because they have you located east of the Intracoastal Waterway off of 3rd St. But besides that we had an awesome time except for the heat [96], oh the idea of having a fan on the 16th green was awesome.Thank you all; looking forward to coming back.
Eddie
Course is open and fun to play. Had heavy rain two days before and they were mowing a lot, lots of clumps of grass around the greens, really bad. Greens were very rough and dry, drought was very rough on them. Starter was late, had to wait on him to get us started. Had to wait to start back nine due to other groups being started on the back ahead of us (we were first foursome of the day). Overall a good experience, scored well, but have enjoyed other courses more.
Michael
Excellent service, the course was in a really great condition even if it was raining on half of the game. The fairways and greens were in perfect condition and even playing in the sand traps was fun.
Linda
You should advertise this course as very woman-friendly. My friend who doesn't golf much enjoyed the lack of sand and water. Am playing this course with three others in September and I anticipate they will like it because it is so open.
Daniel
Enjoyed the experience but the greens were not in good shape this year. Pace of play was good and overall the course is good!
Rex
It was my first experience and they made the situation easy. I was playing with my 4-year-old grandson, who loves to play golf. The starter was very nice and understood our dilemma. Especially, that we would probably be playing slow. He let us go off as a twosome which made it so enjoyable. Thanks MBN-West Course.
Mickey
Beautiful course in great condition. Would like to know why they started a junior tournament off on the back nine. When we made the turn, they were just getting started. Also no beverage cart came around on the back nine. Was only 100* out. Wanted more than a drink of water.
Matt
It seemed to be overbooked and it took us almost 5 hrs. due to congestion and such, we asked for just a threesome and where told that would be OK and then at the tee we where told we had a single joing us. I still like the course but like to enjoy the round and not feel like it is overcrowded.
Benny
Great staff and the course was in great shape. A couple of the greens were in bad condition, but overall, a great experience.
David
Greens on back 9 of West Course a little rough, but other than that course was in great shape.
Brett
The Web site gave all the information that I needed.
Brian
Like the wide-open play of the course.
Frank
Openness was beneficial and provided a gentle breeze to help cool us.
Michael
Everything was excellent (bag drop personnel, front desk, starter, cart lady and the grill inside the clubhouse). Course is in nice condition.
Robert
In and out of the pro shop in under 1 minute. Very professional. Course in good condition. A couple of greens starting to stress but putted true. Condition was wet due to previous night's rain, and was cart path only, but drained well.
Charlotte
I love the wide greens, ##18 is so pristine with the water. I love the challenge of this course.
Kevin
(Would like to have had prior to round) better directions from the mbn.com site. Had to look up directions separately on Google since the address listed on the site was a PO Box, and had I followed those directions I would not have found the course.
Chris
The course was very friendly inside and out.
Edward
Very good course and well maintained.
Pat
We booked a 5:30 p.m. tee time because it was the first available at the 'twilight' rate. Course staff was surprised that happened?! But it made for a wonderfully enjoyable round for us - no one pushing (except the cart guys, who wanted us in). We completed 18 prior to a beautiful sunset ... For us it was a great round.
Gary
Course was great. We were a bit miffed that the cart girl visited us once in the first 13 holes.
Roger
We love everything about MB National.
Sonia
Excellent course, will return next May 2011.
Robert
Another very well-maintained course, groups moved at a good pace as there were only my wife and I. Very nice greens and fairways. Enjoyed the round.
Jeremy
Course was in good condition, service was great, but it was a course lacking in any WOW factor for me. This was probably not helped by my playing with others who played off the whites so I did too, which meant that many of the par 4s were a bit short for my driver. A solid track, but I would try others ahead of it on my next trip.
Roger
Just a well-kept, fun course.
Tracy
Wonderful as usual.
Karl
Easy and very forgiving.
Frank
Course was in excellent condition, all of the staff was friendly and welcoming. Watch out for the fox squirrels though, they are not afraid to hop in your cart and steal a snack.
Thomas
This course met all the expectations. An incredibly friendly pro shop staff. The cart guys were very helpful with proper suggestions on how to play the West Course. As a single, i went off as a twosome. Ahead of us were two foursomes playing a best ball. The starter was very known on the front side and kept a very good pace of play. The back nine, the starter was not seen as frequently as the front, causing a a bit of a delay. My partner left after 14, I skipped a few holes and at least finished ##18. The pro shop went above and beyond to make up for the delay. The course was in great shape. Will play this course everytime I am in Myrtle Beach.
Linda
I love the greens, take awhile to get used to but the course is soooo green. The squirrels are so cute too. We play it at least 2 times when we are in MB.
Laura
Great golfing experience! Staff was friendly and helpful.
John
Great course, paired with a great family. Will definitely return.
Hugh
They put a junior tournament out in front of us on the back nine without telling us. It took an hour to play 3 holes and we had three groups waiting on the par 3 13th tee. We left at that point, figuring we didn't want to play the back nine in 3 1/2 hours.
Steve
the west course could have been a buit more challenging
Lyle
Nice course with tighter fairways and smaller greens.
David
Yardage book might have been helpful, to better illustrate what lay ahead - but overall we loved the course!
Steve
Greens were great and the course was more open than Kings North and MB South.
Barbara
Not much challenge.
Thomas
Cart path rule in effect due to the amount of rain the previous days.
Roger
Course was quite wet. Greens were VERY thin on grass - they need some help in the late fall.
Georgiana
The West Course is my favorite course to play in Myrtle Beach! We have played it several times, and always make it a point to play it each time we go to Myrtle Beach. The course was in immaculate condition considering the time of year; the greens were very fast, which is to our liking. What we like best about the West Course is the layout through the woodlands area and all the wildlife you see. We don't like playing courses that wind through neighborhoods, so the West Course is perfect for us. We have played other courses designed by Mr. Palmer and find them all to be very challenging and fair (unlike Pete Dye courses). It's always a pleasure to tour Mr. Palmer's gallery at the clubhouse, and it's hard not to be a little overwhelmed by the setting. The pro shop is one of the best I have ever seen, and the inside staff very helpful. However, the cart attendants left a lot to be desired... It was a little busy when we got there so we had to unload our clubs, which wasn't that big of a deal. One of the attendants did greet us after we unloaded and told us to go ahead and check in and then they would put us in a cart. After checking in and returning to the bag area, our clubs were still where we had left them and no attendant to be found so we ended up loading them ourselves. It wasn't a big deal, but it's not the kind of service we've come to expect from MBN after all these years. My husband is a cart attendant at Biltmore Forest CC in Asheville, NC, and he said that this lack of service would be grounds for dismissal if he should fail to accomodate a member or guest after speaking with them and saying he would get them set up. But we didn't mind, and it wasn't that big of a deal to us. It won't stop us from returning there in the future. And the rates we payed were even cheaper than the public courses we play at home. Thank you for setting us up, and we will definitely be turning to you for future bookings. We are still puzzled as to why it cost more at Possum Trot than at MBN. PT is more like a public course and MBN feels like a private country club!
Alan
We enjoyed it very much.
Richard
We had a 12:30 approx. tee time. Didn't tee off until 1:30. The starter kept putting groups in front of us even though there were times when the tee box was empty for 10-15 minutes. We finished in the dusky times.
Mike
Always enjoy MBN.
Terry
very fair well maintained course
Larry
Friendly layout for my wife, who is a beginning golfer.
Randy
The course was in good shape, I thought the greens were a little slow. The starter did send us off the 10th tee and that was great.
Roger
We normally play the South course but due to aerating we played the West Course. We were a little unsure of this course because of the houses along the course, much to our surprise it was wide open and the housing was not a problem. We would definitely play the West again and not confine ourselves to the south.
Jim
Very enjoyable overall.
Brian
Course was in great shape. Staff was very friendly. Can't beat the price.
Lane
An excellent course, not too much water. Great condition. Loved the bentgrass greens, but wish players would repair ball marks.
Sean
All holes are different, challenging layout but fair.
