Litchfield's been here a long time. We opened up in 1966, so we are 56 years old now. We got fantastic greens. It's not a golf course that's going to beat you up. It's pretty much straight in front of you. It's not very tricky. It's very welcoming to women golfers, senior golfers, beginner golfers. That's some of our defining characteristics.
If you want to score well out here, the one thing you have to do is keep the ball in the fairway. My favorite holes on this golf course are actually 13 and 17. They're actually two of our signature holes. 13 is a par five. It's got water down the left hand side, trees and out of bounds to the right hand side. It's still a reachable par five for longer hitters, and it's just a beautiful hole. It sets up well. And number 17, par three, it's just a beautiful hole the way it's laid out. It's just all straight in front of you, but the fairway dips down, rises up a little bit to a raised green. You've got water left and right, and some beautiful landscaping around. Big piece of advice, keep it in the short grass because you get in the rough here, it gets tough. Greens are in fantastic shape, and they're running ] around in the 10 and to 11 right now, and they'll be doing the same thing this spring.
It's a great golf course, especially to start your trip. You're trying to knock off that rust from the winters up north. You can do that here at Litchfield.
