Yeah, in this business, you've got the Jack Nicklauses and some of the guys who come in from the playing standpoint. Most of us have a landscape architecture degree, and I fall in that camp. We look at the visuals as equally important as how it plays.
I mean, I enjoy all of it. That's actually a fair way to make a living. The routing is like a jigsaw puzzle, and then working out the features. Probably doing the grading plans for the greens is the most fun when you can really do that.
And the mounding here that you can see in the background—the nineties was an era where they were getting into, you know, the bulldozer operators and equipment operators being artists. And they really are.
Instead of a paintbrush, they've got a ten-ton bulldozer or a trackhoe, which is just amazing to me that they can get all these unique shapes out of a straight blade.
The overall scale of this place is one of the things I think did set it apart. So people will notice, playability-wise and visually, that the greens will be going back out to become pretty large.
