Stop it, Salty. You know it's all up here how you play it. Yeah. Nice. Wonder, baby. Hey everyone, I am Meredith Kirk and this is the Salty Golfer and we are at River Hills Golf Club today getting ready to debunk more golf reviews. Salty, we've had some pretty good ones. We're coming for it. And uh we're going to debunk some more reviews. And if you didn't see our last episode, but you're going to have to go watch the episode. Just go watch episode number two and you'll see what we're doing here. Let's get it. We're driving to hole number 17. Why are we driving to hole number 17, Salty? The review in question is there's too much water on the course. Well, I mean it the the title of the course, River Hills kind of to me like any if I hear like a body of water is in the name of the course, right? I kind of make an assumption there's going to be water on the course. Do you do that too? Yeah, for sure. And I think it's the town it's in too, right? Maybe that has something to do with it. I think so. Little River. So, Little River, we have so many holes in Myrtle Beach where you have to hit over water twice, right? I love a good riskreward and it's part of the fun of playing golf is having the obstacles, right? I mean, 100%. I don't want to go to a golf course where it's just wide open and I'm hitting in a field. It's all about the strategy and how you going to play the hole. Right. Exactly. I kind of like it. I mean, this is a par five, correct? So, you have to expect that if you're on a par five, you're going to be more likely to have potentially two bodies of water that you have to hit over. Right. Right. So, let's hit over both of them. And I got over. Yeah. Nice. All right, Salty, your turn. So, we got a slight dog leg left. Looks like I'm going to kind of aim at the hazard flag and see if I can peel one back. Oh, that's it, Salty. Awesome. Nice. Take wonder, baby. Love those. Okay. I'm jealous of that shot. That was awesome. All right. Well, we cleared the water, the first body of water. So, now let's see if we can clear the second body of water. Let's do it. On to the next one. The person said that it's nearly impossible to hit that second shot over the water. Like, it's just too challenging is what they're feeling about this hole. Know your limits. Know your course. Know what you can do. It's a par five. So, if you got to make it a three shot par five, make it a three shot par five. Yeah. You can still get a par. Yeah. Yeah. Just It's all about strategy. Correct. Yeah. Correct. So sometimes you have to pull it back a little bit. Sure. And then sometimes, you know, I can go ahead and have fun and take a risk. There is a difference between taking a risk and complete stupidity. What are you thinking? You know, on on holes like this where you're hitting over multiple bodies of water. My goal right now is just to get it over the water. I mean, I have about 125 yards that I have to clear. If I get close to the green, great. But if not, it's okay because I'm just going to pretty much lay up. And that's the option that players have is they can lay up. I think they must have been feeling really stressed about their golf game when they wrote this review. Worst case scenario, you could still get pretty easy par on this hole. You know, it's all up here. How you play it? Yeah. Just like that. That was the goal. Right in the fairway over the second body of water. professional. If you like this video so far, don't forget to like, subscribe, comment. We want to hear from you. Now, back to the video. Nice salty that a boy. We cleared the water. Okay, so this is my first time here. Mhm. This is hole 17. I like this place. It's fun. It's challenging from what I've played so far, but it's fair. Yes, it is fair. It's a fair golf course. I am a riskreward guy. I like challenging the hole and myself. We still have a shot at birdie here. I mean, you never know what can happen. So, we're in good position, Salty. Yeah. All right, let's go after it. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Oh, didn't hit it. Nice par. Thank you. We did it, Salty. We parred this challenging hole, which is course management. It's not scary. It's not scary. If you know what you're doing, you got to plan. It's a great hole, though. It's an absolutely outstanding golf hole. Um, I love it here so far. Yeah, you just got to change the perception, right? Right. So, here it's like, oh, this is easy. You just hit over twice, use good course management, and there you go. Perfect. I think I think they were scared. Yeah, a little bit. You know what? Come out and play River Hills one more time with a different perspective. Just plan those shots. Know strategically where you want the ball to go and I'm telling you, you're going to fall in love with 17. I promise. If I can make a par, you can make a par. Promise. Okay. So, our first review, Meredith, is from Eric and it says, "No coolers with your own drinks. Won't be back to the courses that have this policy. See you bye. See you. Bye. Yeah. Does he know that it's like illegal in South Carolina to actually bring the coolers? I I don't know. Um he probably didn't know. Probably didn't know, but he's going to have wherever he goes in South Carolina. That's for sure. Right here at the snack bar and the beautiful clubhouse um here at River Hills. And uh we've got a bag of ice with what looks like some salty golfers in it. Thank you, Miss Kristen. Well, I'll be darn salty beer with a salty golfer. Isn't that great? So, to drink at a golf course in South Carolina, this is how you do it. You do it. This is how you do it. And it stays nice and cold. You can't bring your own. No. You got to support the course. Also, um once the beer is gone, the ice will be melted a little bit and then it becomes a uh you know, a cooling off. Yes. Yeah, another review debumped. Right. So, I don't know about the whole see you buy. I think he needs to to come back. Yeah. So, I'll I'll Hey, I'll buy you one. I'll buy your first couple on Salty Golfer. Just come on back. You'll be fine. All right, Salty. So, for the next review, this guy Joe gave River Hills three stars, which is fairly decent. But the reason why he didn't do the five stars is because there was some issues he had in the pro shop saying that some items were not did not have tags on them. And then also he felt like he wasn't allowed to touch anything and I think it bothered him. So let's go into the pro shop when you um your parents say don't go in the your grandmother's and don't touch the living room. Don't touch. Yeah. So like if I go like this stop it. Don't touch. Don't touch. I got it. I got it. Just look. But we need to find out if they're price tags. Yeah. Okay. I see a price tag. See a price tag. Okay. Oh, look. Price tag on the hats. Yeah. Price tag. There's a price tag. But stop touching. Sorry. Not touching. No touching. No. Cuz you get Yeah. Look at all the tags over here. Ladies section. Maybe something from his childhood. I don't know. I mean, I've been touching stuff a little bit here and they haven't said anything. So, I think we're good. You're you're welcome to touch products, items, merchandise here at River Hills. You're allowed to feel the shirts. Yeah, it's it's a great pro shop. Go check it out either pre or post round. And um Thank you, sir. Yeah, another another review. Hey, Bong. I'm going to try to get through this without uh without without touching anything. I'll see if I can super mission. And I did it. I did it. All right, Meredith, we got another review here. It's from our good buddy Chris four or five years ago. It says there is no river and the course goes through a neighborhood. I guess with the course being named River Hills, he was looking for a river. A river. But we are in uh the little metropolis of Little River. Little River. So, we're pretty sure that's where the name comes from. And also, uh, the neighborhood is called River Hills. So, Right. that that probably is the reason why this golf course is called River Hills. Yeah. And I will say though, there is a lot of water out here, but technically they're not rivers. They're just lakes. Yeah. Yeah. Small lakes. But if you maybe attached them all together, you might be able to get a small river. You might. I mean, actually, yeah, you could. All right, Salty. This last review was from a woman, Darlene. She said that she worked but did not play the course and gave it one star. Yeah, let's dive into what that could possibly mean. Worked it, didn't play it, and didn't play it. One star. I have a couple of theories on this. Maybe it's she was having an unfortunate time out on the golf course and it felt more like work than it did playing. That's a possibility. Yeah. Yeah, that's a good I've been there. And then maybe she was a disgruntled employee. I actually thought that too. Yeah. Like maybe she was working. She wanted to play but you know had to get a job. Right. And what what's what's cool about the reviews we've done today is we've had to go way back to find reviews. Yeah. Some of these reviews were four and five years old which is which says a lot about the golf course. Right. It does when you and sometimes people take how their day is going out on the golf course. True. Yes. Yeah. And which is what we've I think that we have found in the in the last couple episodes that we've done is is they're they're reviewing their bad day and not really reviewing the golf course. Give it 72 hours after you play a course before you write a review. Or maybe like um the course was great, the layout was great, but I sucked today. And so I'm giving myself a one star, but I'll give the the course a five star. Yeah, that's what they need to do for reviews, actually. Put like how the golfer play. We need to know how they played first before we read the review. Agree. That would be fair. Salty, it's been fun debunking golf reviews with you here at River Hills. And listen, guys, if you haven't checked out our other debunking videos, you need to go check them out. But in the spirit of one of our reviewers today, see you. Bye.
