What's going on, guys? Brian here at TPC Myrtle Beach with Myrtle Beach Golf Trips. Welcome back to Tip of the Week.
Today we're going to talk about ball position when it comes to hitting your driver.
A lot of people already know that the ball should be positioned toward the front of your stance, and you're right. But remember, the driver is the longest club in your bag. That means it takes a little more time for the clubhead to square up.
Instead of having the ball in the middle of your stance, we're going to position it off the left heel. That's going to give the clubhead more time to square up so you can hit straighter and longer drives.
When I set up, I'm going to put the ball off my left heel, set my clubface, take my grip, get nice and comfortable, and take a nice deep breath before I swing.
Once you do that, you're going to start seeing a lot more straight drives.
