We're out here on No. 9, the Valley of Sin, here at Wild Wing. It's a great short risk-reward par 4 where golfers can either lay up short of the bunkers off the tee or try to attack them, carry the bunkers, and leave themselves a short wedge into the green.
Looking at the new design features of this hole, we're adding a couple of bunkers on the right side, but really the biggest thing you're going to see is the expansion of this green back to its original size and the return of the true Valley of Sin that you see behind me. I think that's going to be an exciting feature for all of our golfers.
The great thing about this hole is that you have so many options for how you can attack it. I personally like to lay up short of the bunkers on the right-hand side. I think it gives you the best angle into the green and provides a clean approach shot to the hole.
When golfers play this hole, they can play down the right side and lay up short of the bunkers, try to attack the bunkers, or play down the left side. From the right side, you'll have a great angle into the green, but you won't actually be able to see the putting surface.
Going over the bunkers or playing left of the bunkers is a much more difficult tee shot that brings more danger into play. It's a great risk-reward opportunity, but you will be able to see the green. With the green expanding back to this size, hole locations are going to become very important. Understanding where the hole is located when you're hitting your second shot will be a key factor for players.
