Myrtle Beach is home to more than 1,500 restaurants, so you have plenty of places to eat on a golf trip, but who among us doesn’t like to try some place new? As always, a bevy of eateries have opened along the Grand Strand in 2019, so we’ve put in the hard work to identify the three your group will most enjoy. If you are looking for new restaurants on your next Myrtle Beach golf trip, here is where you need to go:
— 44 & King incorporated the best elements of the European pub culture and Southern comfort food to create one of the area’s best new eateries. 44 & King prides itself on serving fresh local ingredients and antibiotic and hormone free meat, a combination that has quickly made it a favorite among locals. The corn fried chicken bog on a stick is a must-have appetizer, and the chicken pie, a creamy dish, which includes vegetables and a crisp buttery topping, is a winner. If your group is feeling particularly ambitious, The 44 & King, a 44-ounce porterhouse, paired with a pound of crab legs, awaits. The menu is complemented by an extensive selection of craft beers and cocktails, adding to the experience.
— The most popular restaurant along Murrells Inlet’s Marshwalk, Wicked Tuna, has come to Myrtle Beach. Located at Second Avenue Pier, the new Wicked Tuna combines a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean with a menu that specializes in fresh, locally caught seafood and sushi. The location is new but the menu will be familiar to diners who have visited the Murrells Inlet venue. The Wicked Shrimp – fried, tossed in a spicy mayo sauce – is a winner, as is anything off the sushi menu. The fresh catch of the day will never let you down either.
— Our third recommendation is equal parts activity and restaurant, but if you are reading this, then Topgolf is place you want to go. You already know it’s fun, but the food is good, too, and the bar area is great. Even if you aren’t interested in continuing to swing the clubs, Topgolf is an enjoyable place to have a meal and take in a game. But, I’m betting you will be at the first available hitting bay trying to beat your buddies one more time.
If you are looking for dessert or need a sugar fix before heading to the course, the new Duck Donuts in Surfside Beach also comes highly recommended!
