Palmetto Jacks, Pawleys Island’s Newest Restaurant, Opens at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club

Palmetto Jacks, Pawleys Island’s newest restaurant, opened its doors at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club on October 24, offering both golfers and the public a memorable dining experience. Nestled within the breathtaking landscape of the Pawleys Plantation golf course, Palmetto Jacks boasts a creative menu, expansive indoor/outdoor seating, and panoramic views of a picturesque tidal marsh.

Palmetto Jacks is open daily from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., serving breakfast until 11:00 a.m. before giving way to a lunch menu that is served the rest of the day. A wide selection of dinner entrées are available beginning at 4 p.m. Dinner entrees are offered Tuesday through Saturday.

With a small plate menu that offers calamari, she crab soup and street tacos, among other selections, and house, Caesar, beet and caprese salads, it will be immediately clear that Palmetto Jacks appeals to discerning Pawleys Island diners. The lunch menu consists of an assortment of burgers, chicken sandwiches and po boys, complemented by the choice of fries, collard greens, onion rings and sweet potato fries.

Pawleys Island is home to some of the Grand Strand’s premier restaurants and the dinner menu at Palmetto Jacks will make it a hotspot for couples in search of a memorable evening. Among the featured entrees are short ribs, stuffed flounder, filet & frites and Osso Bucco – a slow roasted pork shank, with tomatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms and garlic parmesan risotto. There is also a daily pasta special, a chef-inspired dish that will delight.

“Pawleys Plantation is one of South Carolina’s premier golf courses, and the Palmetto Jacks experience will broaden the property’s appeal,” said Steve Mays, president of Founders Group International. “Palmetto Jacks will be a favorite of golfers, but the reasons for its popularity – great food and an appealing menu – will make it a go to spot for everyone in search of a memorable meal and a good time.”

The outdoor deck (top photo) will also allow the opportunity for live entertainment and relaxing happy hours, further enhancing the charm of the restaurant.

Renowned for its beauty and challenge, the Pawleys Plantation golf course underwent a renovation project in the summer of 2023, highlighted by a comprehensive greens and bunkers restoration effort.

Every green complex and the surrounding fringe was stripped, tilled and restored to its original specifications, netting 40,000 square feet of additional putting surface while dramatically increasing the size of every green complex.

Even more dramatic than the restoration of the course’s greens was the reimagining of the bunkers at Pawleys. The sprawling bunkers on holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 12, 16 and 18 were replaced by smaller fairway traps, native areas and expanded fairways, enhancing the course’s playability for mid to high handicappers without reducing the challenge for more skilled players.
