Golf, Go-Karts & Good Times: What to Do After Your Round in Myrtle Beach

Even if you’re playing 36 holes a day, there’s still plenty of time for off-course fun, a fact that plays into Myrtle Beach’s many strengths as a destination.

After you’ve secured tee times and accommodations for your next visit to the Golf Capital of the World, it’s time to start planning for the rest of your trip, and we are here to help.

If your group enjoys a little sophistication, Brookgreen Gardens comes highly recommended, but if you are like most, a weekend with your friends lends itself to good times at the expense of culture.

Here are five things to enhance the fun on your Myrtle Beach golf trip.

– Chances are you and your buddies are sports fans, which means you should check out the schedule for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, the Chicago Cubs A affiliate. The ballpark is great, the location is convenient, and the gameday experience is outstanding. The Pelicans offer the opportunity to see baseball’s rising young stars while enjoying an evening with the boys. If the Pelicans aren’t in town (or in season), don’t sleep on Coastal Carolina’s athletics program.

– If you haven’t been to PopStroke, it should be at the top of your list. A venture that includes Tiger Woods and TaylorMade among its investors, PopStroke offers 36 holes that are somewhere between mini golf and a real putting course. Throw in massive televisions and drink service on the course and PopStroke is a winner. (PopStroke top photo)

– For groups based in North Myrtle, don’t sleep on Jack Axe. If you’ve never been, axe throwing is more fun than you think. There are old-school video games, and likely unbeknownst to you, Jack Axe has a golf simulator as well. The beer is cheap, and the vibe is welcoming. What’s not to like?

– If you are looking for a throwback activity, go to Broadway Grand Prix and race the evening away at seven go-kart tracks. If you want a greater test of skill, go to K1 Speed, an indoor go-kart track in North Myrtle Beach. The electric karts reach speeds of nearly 45 mph, and you can compare lap times with people who have raced throughout the day. Broadway is for trading paint, and K1 is a test of your ability to drive.

– Last but not least, TopGolf, which is located across from Broadway at the Beach, is always worth a visit. The three-story facility has 70 bays, a 28-foot video wall, 200+ HD televisions, and of course, all the golf games you can play.

Whether you’re enjoying beers at TopGolf or racing go-karts, these off-course options can add a layer of fun to your Myrtle Beach golf trip. Just don’t forget to set that early tee time.
