From the Fairway to Fresh Catch – Mr. Fish Makes Dining Easy for Golfers

You come to Myrtle Beach for the golf but fresh seafood is a nice perk, and Mr. Fish, a family owned seafood market, is now bringing the best the area has to offer to your doorstep.

After a long day on the course, if you want to crack a cold drink and enjoy a meal made with fresh, often locally sourced, ingredients without having to leave your condo, Mr. Fish is the answer. A seafood market and restaurant, Mr. Fish now caters meals tailored for golf groups looking for convenience and quality.

“I love golfers,” says Sheina Hammerman, who co-owns Mr. Fish. “They’re the greatest, and they love the convenience of ordering seafood boils, barbecue, sliders—all the good stuff. After a long round, they just want to come back to their rental, have the food delivered hot and ready, and relax. That’s exactly what we do.”

Mr. Fish specializes in drop-off catering, featuring an easy online ordering system where golfers can choose from seafood boils, clam bakes, taco bars, hibachi meals, and more. With just 48 hours’ notice, they’ll have a freshly prepared meal delivered to their door.

“They tell us when they’ll be back from the course, and we make sure their meal is waiting,” Hammerman says. “We coordinate everything via text, so if a group is running late, we adjust—making sure it’s hot and ready when they arrive.”

The food itself is a standout. While Mr. Fish sources the best seafood from around the world – like Prince Edward Island mussels and Faroe Island salmon – it also offers plenty of local options, including snapper, flounder, oysters and shrimp. Popular catering choices include the Lowcountry boil, packed with shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes, and the clam bake, which offers an even heartier seafood selection.

For golfers who prefer to cook their own meals, Mr. Fish’s market is stocked with a rotating selection of fresh seafood, from mahi and grouper to unique seasonal finds like corvina and parrotfish.

“Most people like to come in and pick out exactly what they want,” Hammerman said. “But if a group wants a large order delivered, we can make that happen too.”

And for those who want to dine in? Mr. Fish welcomes golfers straight from the course. “They can come in all sweaty, grab pitchers of beer and a steam pot, and just enjoy,” Hammerman says. “It’s casual, fun, and affordable.”

Affordability is a big part of the appeal. Without traditional waitstaff and high-end restaurant markups, Mr. Fish offers top-tier seafood at lower prices. “You’ll save a lot of money here compared to a fine dining restaurant, but you’re still getting quality food,” Hammerman says.

Soon, golfers will have another reason to stop by – Mr. Fish is adding a sushi bar, bringing expertly crafted rolls to its already impressive lineup.

For golfers looking to unwind with a great meal after a round, Mr. Fish is a must-visit.
