Myrtle Beach National – King’s North Course
Upon completion of this course’s 1995 transformation from its original North Course roots, King’s North at Myrtle Beach National immediately became one of the Grand Strand’s “go to” premium golfing options.
Iconic holes abound in Arnold Palmer & Francis Duane’s redesign – including the island green, par-3 12 hole that pays homage to its home state with bunkers shaped like its initials; the par-4 18th hole, with 40-plus bunkers lining the route from tee to green; and the ever-popular par-5 6th hole, known to all who test it as “The Gambler.”
Featuring an island fairway option, the hole that pays homage Kenny Rogers’ hit song teases you with obvious “know when to hold ‘em … know when to fold ‘em” options. Take the long route, and “The Gambler” plays as a more conventional 3-shot hole that wraps from right to left around the water; or take the ultimate risk by hitting your driver long enough onto the island fairway to give you a shot at getting up in two – but with an expansive water hazard separating you from the story you’ll be sharing with your golf buddies for a lifetime.
Are you ready?

Angel
It was everything I expected and more ! Very nice and well maintained. Club house and check in was outstanding and everyone was polite and very friendly and welcomed Us. First class course with service to match. One bucket list crossed off.
Patrick
Every hole would be a signature hole at any other course I have played. This is the best course I have ever played.
Rob
It was a nice course and the staff was incredible. Play was much slower on the back nine due to having tee times on both tees and that was the only negative. We were playing well through 9, then really hit a "wall" when we made the turn and got behind a very slow group.
Matthew
Outstanding course. Hands down.
Larry
Fun course.
Rusty
Good test
Patrick
Fantastic course. My all time favorite in Myrtle beach.
Stephen
great course, challenging layout and was in great shape
Joe
Out of all the courses to play on my vacation I picked Kings North and it did not disappoint. I loved the layout and a course I will always remember. I must play course for sure!
Jack
I enjoyed the layout and look forward to coming back. It was a good challenge from the gold tees. The course was in excellent shape except for the bunkers. It appears the greens were aerated a few weeks ago and they are rolling nicely.
Christopher
Fun track! Had a blast
J.P.
Great Course, really struggled on it.
Mark
Enjoyable
Shaun
Great course, great staff. Would highly recommend and play again in the future. Only wish the par 3s had a bit more variety in their distances off the tee. Clubhouse food could use an upgrade.
Kevin
Great course, tee boxes need some help.
Christopher
Five star plus!!!
Eric
Great experience playing at MBN. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Course was in great condition and a fun layout. Highly recommend.
Christopher
Really enjoyed the course and the conditions.
Vance
A course with an excellent balance of playability and difficulty.
Michael
Great shape. Fun course.
Donovan
Enjoyed the course with my family. A lot of fun holes to play with variety. The course is going through a renovation, so the lakes were very low around the signature holes, and some construction going on. Thus it was not as visually stunning as I imagine it would be when the lakes are full. A few areas of turf were a bit thin due to not being overseeded, but overall the areas you are supposed to play from were in great shape. The greens rolled true and fast an were in great shape. Great clubhouse and staff as well. Very friendly and helpful.
Bob
Great course - but pace slow
Brian
Nice course. Good conditions. Decent pace of play 4hr 15min. Pretty forgiving off tee. Playable for all. A few forced carriers over water from ladies tee
Ray
Our group's favorite course. In excellent condition, friendly staff
Nanjoo
Great couse layout, great shape, friendly staffs.. one of my favorite courses in MB
Brett
Absolutely magnificent course. Course was in great shape. Challenging and fun. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Mike
I always enjoy playing this course - cart path only really takes away fro the experience (the Gambler especially).
Michael
Excellent greens and overall great conditions. The starter Marty was funny and nice.
Sunday
Great. Long and challenging.
Keith
Solid Course and well-maintained different layout make it fun my family and myself enjoyed the round

Bill
The course conditioning was very good. The greens putted true.
Lonnie
Loved playing here, shot my best round of the week and didn't lose a ball on the gambler. Nice conditions
Michael
favorite course of the week, great shape. played additional 9 on the West course and enjoyed that as well.
Benjamin
What a great course, fun layout, great risk reward holes. Conditions were immaculate, beautiful fairways, greens rolling perfect, enjoyed the challenges of the water holes and the challenging second shots into the par 5s. Great clubhouse with an awesome tribute to Arnie with a display of his clubs, some hand written letters, photos etc. Will go down as one of the best courses I have ever played. Cart staff was awesome, friendly and full of knowledge. Cant wait to come back next year.
Kip
Our group's favorite course in Myrtle Beach we play every year. Replayed 9 holes on the West Course not as good as KN but worth playing
Ray
Course in great shape, greens outstanding. Bag drop staff made you feel welcome upon arrival. Hope to play again soon
Kevin
Greens burnt up, leaves and pine needles all over them couldn't even putt through it. Do not pay that high green fees, its not worth it, I am a local and will not go back! Its a shame this course used to be perfect!??
Staff Response:
On behalf of Myrtle Beach National, I would like to apologize for your negative experience on King's North. During this time of year all three courses at Myrtle Beach National are going through our overseeding process. This process consists of verti-cutting greens, tees and approaches to prepare the turf for overseed. Unfortunately, your day of play coincided with the seeding of the greens on King's North. Typically, maintenance's normal practice is to blow off the debris on the greens in the morning and throughout the day as needed. Since the overseeding of the greens started on October 12th and finished on the 14th, maintenance could not blow off the greens for several days to ensure proper seed coverage. I will be reaching out to you directly with the contact information you provided~Ryan Ruddy, PGA Head Golf Profession
Erv
Fairways and greens were not in good condition. For $109, I expected much more. Very disappointed with our round. Play another course for much less and it was in great condition. Will not be returning. Too many other choices for less money.
Staff Response:
Hi Erv—We were forwarded your review and will be reaching out directly to discuss your round at King’s North. ~Ryan Ruddy, PGA Head Golf Professional
William
Greens rolling exceptionally well--fairways fast and firm. Very friendly staff from bag drop, to clubhouse and on the course. Played in just under 4 hours...great day!
Ken
Beautiful, challenging but fair. The fairways were almost completely burned out, which is surprising for May. At these prices, I should not be hitting off dirt because there’s no grass in the middle of the fairway.
Alan
Love this course layout gambler holes par 3’s will play every visit
Dez
Love the layout. Fun course. Good condition.
Kevin
I love MBN Kings North, and the experience was great again. The course was in fantastic shape and the starter did a great job accommodating the fact the person I was to play with didn't show up...
Ben
Fairways were in great shape and so were the greens, but the rough was very brown. I expected it to be in better shape for it being the middle of May and a hundred dollar course. The layout of the course was very fun and challenging with a lot of forced carries off the tee box.
Brian
course in very good shape, always a challenging layout.
Steve
Love the course
Jeff
Course was beautiful. Fairways were burnt a bit to charge top price. Overall, I enjoyed my experience.
John
Great condition with a ton of memorable holes even beyond those that get all the hype. Only issue is clubhouse and range can get overwhelmed by all the golfers on site.
Mark
We really were impressed by how everyone was eager to help and inform us on where to go. Course was in excellent shape, a real pleasure to play.
Tom
Very cool and challenging. Fairways and greens were in great condition. Friendly staff
Derrick
Fantastic course. Liked the layout and great conditions. Pace of play was good.
Ross
Decent course but disappointed comparably to the other courses.
Dave
Course was awesome. Practice area was awesome.outside staff was friendly. Food was good but it took a long time to get. I played 3 days. The starters on the 1st and 3rd days were great. The 2nd day starter was either clueless or untruthful. I checked in with him at 8:00 for my 817 tee time which was supposed to be 4th out. He informed me that they were running on time and he was going to get me out after a group of 32. I told him that was 8 groups and there was no way he was running on time. He told told me he was teeing off both nines. He pretty much told me to go to the putting green and come back when he yelled for me. My 4th time out scheduled for 817 with no weather delays turned into hitting my 1st tee shot at 843 and hitting my last putt of the day at 1:52. The inside staff was very sympathetic to the bad service I recieved from 1 individual and told me that definitely wasnt the norm. Based on my other 2 days playing there they were correct.
Gary
favorite course at MBN, offers different challenges
Edgar
Very pleasant staff. I believe Scott, who was at the carts was such a nice man.
Yasuhiro
The 6th hole was a really unique PAR5. I hit the tee shot towards the floating island and almost succeeded in two-on. There were many other holes with ponds and bunkers, but it was exciting and I was excited.
Gerald
One of the courses we leave on our list each year, never disappoints. In really good shape. Staff does a nice job especially with having three courses.
John
Slow slow slow. No rangers out to have people pick up the pace of play
R
For the money we paid, the conditions were awful. Tees not level, and looked more like the rough. Grass covered the tee when you put it in the ground. Cart paths like a mine field. Fairways were the worst. Yes the conditions were wet, but it was really inexcusable. We rented clubs, but they made me and my wife walk into the clubhouse and get them, and bring them to the cart, and take them off the cart, and return them to the clubhouse. Staff does not bring them to you or take them from you when you are done. Don’t waste your time or money.
Staff Response:
Hi RG--we apologize for your experience, unfortunately the course was wet the day you played because of all the recent rain (Close to 7 inches of rain Tuesday night through Friday morning, which impacted our mowing schedule dramatically) I will be reaching out directly to you with the e-mail address you provided to address your day with us. -Ryan Ruddy, PGA Head Golf Professional
Pam
Fun course to play, even with some forced carries over water it was enjoyable. The rest of our group enjoyed as well. Will be on our list again to play
William
Great variety of holes, always fun to play and was in excellent condition. Staff very friendly as usual.
Cole
Fun course plenty of bunkers I’d suggest polishing up your short game abs bunker play before attempting
Marcus
Excellent course, Fairways were soggy with the night before rain. Loved the layout and experience.
Gil
Overall excellent experience, we played the day after heavy rains which created some wet conditions, but for the most part the course and greens were in very good shape
Scott
What a disappointment this course was. It was the most expensive on this years trip and it was subpar to say the least. No frills for a lot of money
Noble
Great layout and conditions
Matt
Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The work they put into maintaining the course really shows.
Justin
Nice golf course
Carl
Course is beautiful and the layout was great. May help first timers with a little more signage/direction to the next tee box as it isn’t normal for people from other areas to drive through sand areas or bunkers. Just a thought.
Kohle
One of my favorite courses! Was in really nice shape.
Mike
Great course. Lot of fun. Greens were sandy, assuming they were recently aerated but weren’t notified of it.
Truc
Lovely course. Played at 8am with the course being completely wet from the morning dew so it played longer than expected.....especially around the greens which was soaked with morning watering. This made all approach shots nearly impossible to roll on to the green, especially with front pin location. I get it you have to water but most of my shots were half plugged. I'd advice to play later in the day to have optimal course condition.
Cheryl
We come here every other year and always make a point to play Kings North. It is our favorite in the area. Have played it at least 10 times. However, this past round was very disappointing. The greens were in horrible condition, sandy, bumpy, and slow. The fairways were ok, a lot of rough patches and bare spots out there and tee boxes needed some TLC as well. Just not the experience we have always had here. The guys in the pro shop were very friendly when we checked in, but didn't mention anything about the course conditions. Wish we would have been made aware that the course wasn't up to par.
Tahir
Kings North is a great challenge. The course was in great shape other than the greens were a bit slow to me (about 7.5 - 8).
Brett
Ok condition.
Ricky
fun beautiful course
Henry
First time back to Myrtle in 30 years. Course condition was horrible and price was outrageous. Greens had recently been aerated, and the top dressing made for a bumpy ride on every putt. 50% of the bunkers had large puddles in them.Tee boxes had patchy grass that was not mowed tight. Drives plugged in the fairway. With over 100 alternative courses to play in the area, this was a huge disappointment.
Staff Response:
We appreciate you taking the time to write a review, and I do want to apologize for your experience on July 4th. Unfortunately on that day we were not at our best, and it was largely due to the massive amount of rain our golf course received from June 29th through July 3rd. I will be reaching out to you directly with the e-mail address you provided. ~Ryan Ruddy, PGA Head Golf Professional
Jonathan
Amazing experience, amazing course.
Stephen
The condition of the course was a bit rough. But it had rained pretty good the night before. One bunker was being worked on/repaired while we were playing.
Tony
This was not a $70.00 golf course at this time.. everything was great but the condition of the greens was horrible as far as being punch and looks to be v cut.. should have told customers before making reservations.
Roger
Overall an very nice and enjoyable round
Rob
Very nice course. Great staff at the pro shop. The course was a lot of fun and in great shape!
Chris
It is still a great course but not as lush and remarkable as I remembered from the last time I played it in the 90’s.
John
Excellent course and pace. Great condition
William
Interesting and varied layout. The greens were a little slow and grainy.
Patrick
Absolutely love this course. Wide variety of shots needed, doglegs left and right, island green, drivable par 4, and the Gambler. Was in great shape and choices of tees for all handicaps.
Roger
Nice course and decent shape
Shannon
I have played a lot of courses in Myrtle Beach and this is my new favorite. Staff was courteous and course was in great shape.
Joe
Love the course and the staff was great
Stanford
This was the 40th anniversary of our golf trip and I have manged these trips for 40 years. MBN is usually overbooked and crowded with courses in average condition. Kings North was emaculate. The best conditoned course we have played in 40 years of playing golf at Myrtle Beach!
Shaun
Great course, friendly staff
Mike
Very good layout. Greens were a bit slow
Frank
Edward
Course is always fun to play, in great shape
David
Extremely nice course
Richard
Awesome course, Challenging and fun. Great Condition
Lance
Great condition with entire course overseeded.
Jerry
Decent, not great.... Definitely not worth the cost! Fairways and greens were average to good. Sand traps were low quality. Considering the cost to play this course, our expectations were higher. Plus, you have to pay for range balls! ... For the $100 cost, we would not play here again .
Harry
Gimmicky
John
Great- was kind of windy, course a little wet, but was awesome- we enjoyed it a lot.
Edward
excellent golf course
Byung
Well organized and managed golf course which I wanna come again. I will recommend this course to play.
James
We play this course every year. We're here a month early this year. The course played tough. The greens were quick. Rolled true. The island par 3 had construction on the walls and wood cart paths. Didn't affect the course at all. They told us they would be done by April 1st for our spring trip. I would highly recommend putting this course on your card!
John
Great layout and conditions. Worth playing just for the 6th hole.
Ray
One of our group's favorite layouts in Myrtle Beach. Friendly folks here--no houses on the course which is a plus as a couple people in our group spray the ball.
Michael
Great course and very friendly staff--enjoyed the layout very much and will come back to play when it's a bit warmer
Stephen
So we played today and the course was great the bar and food staff were terrific top notch. BUT the old grumpy in the pro shop sucked. I had a $27 gift card to use in the shop. I’m in the military and maybe one day after vets day I thought I may get a discount on some merchandise NOT THE CASES HERE I’m in the Canadian military and was told NO DISCOUNT FOR YOU PEOPLE. my purchase of some underwear came to $25.10 so I thought I can get a golf ball for three dollars for free but he still charge me the extra money $2.10 for the ball with a logo on. Thinking I’m going back to play there not a chance. I hope that old grumpy guys get what’s coming to him. SO UPSET.
Staff Response:
First and foremost, I would like to thank for playing at Myrtle Beach National and for your feedback. I also would like to confirm that we do not allow our staff to offer additional discounts on merchandise, nor do we allow staff to give away merchandise for free. With that being said, I do apologize for comments that may have been taken out of context, but I find it unlikely that my staff would use those exact words or phrases, when informing a guest of our policies and procedures. The staff member in question has already been spoken to. Thank you again for you feedback. Ryan Ruddy, Head Golf Professional
Chad
We played 4 courses in the Myrtle Beach area, all of them very nice, but Kings North was our hands down favorite. There were 6 of us in the group and the other 5 were double digit handicappers - shooting mid-90’s and above - and they loved the course for its playability and beauty. The layout was fantastic. The golf shop was great as well. Overall, a five star experience.
Dave
Great course, challenging and in good shape. Very friendly bar and restaurant staff.
Laurence
It was nice
David
great course....well maintined
Jay
Nice course but wetter than I expected and greens were little slow.
Sam
Great course and service. Play it every time I come to MBN
Justin
Slow play was an issue, course design was beautiful, a little bit more groundskeeping work throughout would make this course 10/10.
Denise
My favorite course I played during the week. Very challenging, especially the bunkers. Loved "The Gambler" hole, but played it safe. The starter was very friendly and helpful.
Michael
Fantastic layout... greens were some of the best we played. Staff was wonderful.
Victor
Great golf course
Brian
Beautiful design and incredibly friendly staff!
David
Awesome!
Heide
Fun course. Very difficult rough. Not used to the type and depth of the grasses in the rough.
Kyle
Great course, super friendly staff, would go back in a heartbeat!
Tim
Nice. Decent price, conditions good but not great. Recommend leveling the tee boxes.
Matt
Excellent layout friendly staff good value
Cory
Fun course with some very unique and memorable holes. However, the fairways were not nearly as nice as some of the other course we played. Also, I think when someone books a round at any of your courses, they should be notified if the greens have been recently aerated. We would not have played here had we known this when we scheduled our tee time.
Aaron
Beautiful and brutal. I like the beach by the ocean not here.
David
The course was mostly in great shape. The fairways were clean, the rough was rough, the greens were immaculate. My only disappointment was the poor maintenance in the sand traps. Maybe these are standard in SC, but not up North in New England. The sand traps...didn’t have much actual sand that wasn’t all matted and muddy. It certainly made me play my sand shots differently, but of the 5 or 6 traps I hit into, 4 or 5 times, my ball was in mud.
Ryan
Great course with friendly staff. Coming from Oklahoma the course was pristine. There are very nice courses in OK but a very different experience in myrtle beach.
Daniel
A very pleasant experience from our arrival through the pro-shop check-in to the ranger and our round. Course was in good shape and pace of play was reasonable.
Severin
Course is beautiful and quite tricky. Starters and Marshalls are very friendly
Benjamin
The course overall was great, but for more than half our round we had mowers or sand crews on top of us.
Jesse
Great course overall as expected
Steve
overall great day. loved the course and staff. Loved that it supported Folds of Honor in the clubhouse. Driving range was ok, only course I played the whole week where I had to use mats.
Thomas
Very enjoyable day
Robert
Great course, challenging, but fair.
Chris
Very nice, fun course.
Jeff
Was a really nice course, we just got rained out halfway through
Bruce
Very scenic course with lots of variety and shot making challenges
Jeff
Fun layout. Starter was great and accommodating. Great experience
Tam
Great. Helpful, friendly staff, nice course, very good time overall, no problems whatsoever.
Zack
Wonderful experience! Staff was awesome! Course was in great shape and pace of play wasn't too bad.
Rick
Tough track but fun.
Jeffrey
A great challenge great layout
Garrett
The course was it good condition despite the recent aeration of the greens. There were a lot of memorable holes and offered a great challenge. I would definitely come back and play at your facility.
Chuck
It was Great!! Everyone we talked to was very helpful and friendly.
Giulio
Unfair greens were punched.
Brady
The whole experience was great. No complaints about both the golf course and the staff.
Matthew
Switched rounds to World Tour
Scott
Course was in decent shape. Bare spots in fairways and more noticed around greens. Had to hit off mats for range practice and that was not impressive for the reputation of this course/facility. Should have been told this before purchasing range balls.
Lawrence
Fantastic and fun gold course. Challenging without being overly penalizing. Has a few "stylized" holes like 5 and 12 that add character without being too gimmicky. A lot of fun.

C
A very pleasant experience, challenging yet the course gave you confidence in your stroke. Multiple hazards on every hole , encourages course management and club selection.
Dave
This is a great course to play. I have never seen a course like this that has cart paths go through waste bunkers. Very cool. Helps blend them into the course.
Joan
Great golf course, never disappoints. The Staff is super friendly and always willing to help you.
Christian
Great, challenging experience. Busy in the mornings but by the time we were going around the back nine it had already slowed down. Me and my friends are high handicappers so we played best ball, but we had the time of our lives. We’ll be back ASAP. And don’t be afraid of the gambler, one of my buddies got it over! Just enjoy this beautiful course, regardless of your score.
Ron
Nice course!!!
Andrew
Been a few years , but still a nice course
Robert
layout was great. loved the challenge on the par 3's most had water
James
It is a beautiful course and very well maintained. Unfortunately, I was paired with the most obnoxious three "golfers" I have ever met in my life. They were slow, were still drunk from the night before and were only interested in drinking more, discussing which strip club they wanted to go to that night and blasting a portable speaker. It made the round miserable.

Erik
Nice track, some neat holes and layouts. Average conditions compared to other courses played that week.
Craig
My wife and I played the South Creek course in the am(first off) and loved it...finished that round and then took on Kings North after a quick bite to eat. I gambled and lost...just for the record...lol. Fantastic courses...fantastic shape. Vil is an awesome gentleman too...if you get him as your starter...you'll see what Im talking about. Great guy!!! My wife and I are already planning a return visit this fall...I need my revenge on the Gambler!!!
David
First time playing King's North and can see why it's the prized course of the 3 MBN courses. Loved it!
Daniel
Interesting layout which takes full advantage of the surroundings. Course was in great shape, greens rolled very nicely. Would recommend and pay again.
Rob
Amazing! Played here 20+ hrs ago with my dad and two brothers. Had the opportunity to play it this week with my 9 yr old son. One of the best days of my life!
Mike
Nice course but always slow play on 2nd nine. Drop a tee time our keep play moving
Andrew
Very nice course. Busy. a lot of poor care from golfers - many divots not replaced or sanded on the approaches to greens especially, and on fairway. Many many pitch marks left on the greens, affecting putting. Needs starters to remind people, and rangers to actually enforce more rigorously, as it is ruining a great course.
Lloyd
8 out of 10
Nick
very good course. makes you think as you play
Ryan
The layout on Kings North was amazing. We played Kings North in the afternoon after a nice lunch in the clubhouse after finishing up the morning on the West Course. The course was in great shape and the facility was great. The one negative we had on the North Course was the pace of play. We played the West Course earlier in the day in just over 4 hours and the staff and rangers were excellent. For Kings North, we almost didn't get to finish the round after teeing off slightly after 2 PM because no rangers came out after we got to the turn (approximately 2.5 hours later). There were 2 groups ahead of us with 5 open holes ahead of them, but no rangers to move them along. We found out at the end of our round (slightly over 5 hours) that the rangers were sent home after the last group (the one following us) made the turn. If those two groups could have been pushed along, the round would have been closer to 4 hours and 15 minutes. We'll know next time that we should try to book for the morning round because everything moved perfectly when the rangers were there.
Matt
Exactly what I expected from a Arnold Palmer course.
Daniel
Great round of golf!
Robert
Nice condition, staff was exceptionally friendly,
Andrew
Great course, best I played all week
Matt
Exactly what I expected from a Arnold Palmer course.rn

David
wow. great course.
Ed
Very nice course - great conditions - friendly staff. Pace of play was very disappointing - 5 hours - never saw a marshal/ranger on the course.
Steve
The course was in great condition. Bag handlers and desk did a great job. We moved along well and it was very busy.
Chris
I always play this course when in MB. The course was in great shape
Tom
One of the top 5 courses I have played in Myrtle Beach.
Sally
Great course. A lot of sand.
Jason
Ok.. I have played this course many times although it has been years. I must say that we were very disappointed!!! We played it on 7/11/18. The greens were absolutely horrible! I am not a green snob but they were non playable. I understand that things happen (disease, heat etc..) All I ask is be fair and adjust your prices accordingly or at the very least warn the customers. I paid $85.00 and felt totally ripped off!!!
Dr
Called for tee time...quoted $49 to play only to be charged $62. Had no idea the greens were in such poor condition, but had to play auto 2 putt to get on and off the course. Great layout but one to avoid this summer.
Mark
Greens are in really horrible shape. Burned up between the winter grass and summer grass the ranger said. But, still charging full price as if the greens are immaculately kept.
Rob
I've played all the courses in SC and myrtle beach national is my all time favorite.....its the best of the best !
David
I loved the layout of the National North Course with all of the water and sand traps. The National North Course is a must play for golfers visiting Myrtle Beach!
Kyle
Played the Kings North course this week. Had a great time. The conditions were fantastic and we all loved the layout.
Brian
Course is gorgeous. Very fun to play. Greens true with great rolls, but hit the center of the cup or you will just roll nicely past. Staff very friendly.
Jason
King's North in great shape, always enjoy playing here with my group
Dave
Had booked first off tee time several months ago, but was placed behind another group. They obviously were way overmatched by the course. Waited on every shot and did not finish last 3 holes as rain moved in after 4:20 into round. No ranger in sight. Went to clubhouse after round to see about a rain check as we couldn't finish. When I explained how early we booked in advance, the staff said they did not have enough players for double teeing so they placed the back nine group in front of us. Any time we play on the point we play 31/2 to 3:45 rounds. Tremendously disappointed in staff's response to their booking error, will not play their again.
Jong
Love playing this course. Was a little disappointed with the greens. Several thin areas and a little bumpy. Usually the greens are in very good shape, but not on the day we played. Staff was very helpful. Really like the layout of the course. Will continue to play the course in the future. Just hope that greens will be in a little better shape.
W
Was a wet day but what a great day at MBN Kings North. I'm a little partial having my 1st hole in one on #12. Best part was having my friend Paul witness the shot :) will return.
Paul
Continues to be a favorite, staff was outstanding and course in great shape. Will continue to be a must play.
Tom
Course was well maintained and cart path only because of the recent rain and watering from growing season. We may need to schedule in different time frame because of the age groups. Too much to walk for the older folks. :-) Loved the course but couldn't justify cost with so many courses here and needing to walk.
Sean
It was great experience.
Jim
Enjoyed the course very much. I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for over 30 years, and the greens at King's North today were the best I have ever seen in Myrtle Beach. The starter was extremely friendly. Started at 7:45 and finished in less than 4 hours. Carts were allowed on fairways. Bunkers were in excellent condition. In summary, I thoroughly enjoyed the course.
Phil
For 3 course facility called MB National, I expect adequate bathrooms and a much better grill and pro shop.
Nick
Great experience from parking the car to pulling out of the driveway. Staff was excellent, well organized and friendly. Huge clubhouse with plenty of merchandise. Course was fantastic...greens perfect, many memorable holes, i.e. The Gambler, island green. Top notch will be back for years to come.
Tom
Enjoy the layout and challenge of the course. The location is convenient when staying at the beach.

Living in Myrtle Beach, I have played King's North several times this year. As always, the course is well manicured, although the greens were not as fast as expected...not that they were slow by any means. However, surprisingly, the cover of winter rye grass is not as good as would be expected at a premium course. A word of caution from a single digit handicapper....you will find more than a few forced carries over water, which can wear you out with the significant fairway irrigation required to keep winter rye grass healthy. So, give the tees you select to play from due consideration.
Gilbert
Very good.
Rick
We were playing a twosome and were trying to play quickly to beat the rain. Caught up to the threesome ahead by the sixth hole and had to wait on every hole. Missed the last three holes do to a storm. Never saw a ranger the whole time on the course.
Mike
Very challenging but well maintained course.
Paul-Andre
Loved the starter who gave us the opportunity to play alone (our twosome) with out being paired up to strangers, really appreciated that. The most beautiful course and clubhouse seen, within the 5 different clubs we visited in our trip to Myrtle Beach.
Stephen
Wonderful experience. I highly recommend it.
Neil
Nice course, good experience, again.
Chris
Had a great time at King's North. That's one tough course to play. I will be back. Thank you!
Ed
Excellent.
Richard
Pace of play too slow, too many golfers.
Michael
Our favorite course to play...challenging..lots of water holes, tons of traps, hilly fairways, dog legs fun to play...I refer to it as a strategy course, where have to pick your landing spots...IF one can execute them!
Vince
Good.
Reco
Great course!
Robert
It had rained all week before so it was a bit soggy, understandably cart paths only but very nice course. Would never pay the $120 fees here again though. This is NOT Tru Blu or Caledonia. $70 course in its best condition.
Rick
Too wet.
John
Great shape every year.
Gerry
Rain
Joe
Kings North - Impeccable!
Richard
Beautiful course, like new top line rental clubs. Pro shop excellent staff. At special rate of $55 would play again and again.
Ed
Outstanding.
Chris
Great greens & fairways, very playable. Will definitely be back next trip.
M/M
(Would like to have know prior to play) that greens were recently aerated.
Paul
While very playable course still recovering from punching and top dressing of greens.
Noel
Very beautiful and challenging course I will surely recommend to whoever I talk to ... Staff are very cordial and very considerate, they know that a good number of people who play here are from other states. I really appreciate the STARTER because after the hold due to rain the starter before we continued on the 10th, he greeted me and addressed me by my name, and that was really something. Bless his heart ... And because of that I shoot 3 over on my back nine! And almost birdied the last hole by only an inch! See what this SIMPLE THING WILL CHANGE SOMEONES GAME! Or I may also say someONE'S DAY! ...
Chris
Course was in good shape. Loved the layout, true Carolina course. I would definitely play here again during my next trip to the area.
Jeffrey
For $85, the customer service could have been much better. The starter and beverage cart ladies were surly. Little course information was provided by the starter. Much of the course had been top dressed with something resembling a mixture of mulch and mud. The greens were incredibly slow and vertical cut markings were still evident. And we were told the course condition was an 8 out of 10. Hardly.
Stephen
This course has a great layout; however, sadly we will not be playing this course again. The first problem was with the course conditions. I would expect a company with any integrity would notify customers of the course conditions. We booked our rounds online in May; however, there was no mention of the aerification of the course. The course was punched 3 days before we played. Had we been notified, we would have played another MBN course. To add insult to injury, the service was appalling. We had to get our bags out of the car and request the clubs be loaded on a cart. The shop attendant's service was surly at best. We will never be playing another course owned or managed by Myrtle Beach National.
Steve
Service in the grill was great. One of the best turkey and Swiss on marbled rye I've had in a long time. Encountered a rude-unaware course attendant that encroached upon us unnecessarily during our finishing hole. His incompetence was not enough to damping our overall great experience at MBNKN
Josh
Excellent!! Me and my 12 year old daughter played today, and course was in great shape. Very enjoyable experience. Only complaints would be water on course is not very cold and cart girl, while we seen twice, said she was heading in for the day at 330 or so. Still quite few playing at that time it seemed. Other than that a very fair, beautiful golf course!
Richard
Best course ever
James
No rangers took 5 1/2 htd to play very slow group in front would not let I'd play thru. Beverage cart came around after 13 holes
Art
Played the King's North course and really enjoyed the new greens. Firm and fast and really improved the course when they switched. The course overall was excellent it really is a good test of golf and requires every club in the bag. Art from Lindenhurst NY
Corey
Nice course, would definately golf it again.
James
The course was in perfect condition with lush Tee boxes and fairways and immaculate greens that ran true. Surrounded by lush landscaping and trees the day was everything I could have hoped for golf. Loved the Island green and the Island fairway which I was fortunate enough to carry and reach the green in two. Pace of play was good and did not feel slowed down or rushed all day. Definitely add this course to your list of places to play.
John
Played King's North after having played the West Course in the morning. Greens were much faster on the West Course. Very nice shape. Have played it before and enjoyed it. Grill staff is a little unfriendly and seem to have poor customer service attitudes.
Dave
Long walk from where you must leave the fairway with the cart...sometimes don't know distance remaining to green and have to walk quite a ways with several clubs after parking the cart behind green.
Anthony
It's ok not up to all the hype
Brad
Again, slowish greens
Ken
As before for the time of year the course was in great shape would like to see it in late summer or fall
James
Just a great place to enjoy golf. It was everything you could want when you play golf. This was truly a perfect course to play
Dayrell
Golf course needs work I have played this course 15 years now. Greens are new and some are turning in the wrong direction maintaining Superior Quality is always a lot of work.
Andrew
Greens were in bad shape
Frank
Beautiful course, unfortunately got rained out. Will pick it up again next trip.
Henrik
Fantastic design course, a bit scruffy condition everywhere caused by to many rounds played on the course I think, Industry feel, not personal or friendly
Mark
Very nice holes but let down a little by the quality of the greens
Mike
Everything at MBN is great very challenging course but in great condition as usual. Starter was great and had a good personality.
David
We call this the Grand Daddy of the courses (like playing in the Rose bowl). Course condition, layout, and service has always been top notch
Jared
How much water the course holds after a big rain
Gordon
Fairways and greens in excellent condition. Very friendly starter and course staff.
Jamie
Great course, loved the Gambler hole.
Pat
Played Kings North 2/25/14. Fairways, rough and tee boxes in great shape. Greens were a little fast and a few greens were iffy in spots. Traps, if you end up in them, as i do from time to time, easy to get out of do to depth of sand. Nonetheless, enjoyed the time with friends and had a good round golf, too. Always do enjoy a round of golf at any of the three courses at Myrtle Beach National. Really can't go wrong on any of them.
Ryan
Thought it was a beautiful course!
Jim
Was a rather cold windy day and there was a great deal of water to handle. The gambler hole was very hard to figure how to play and we all lost a ball to that hole. There seemed to be no place to bail out to and still shoot a decent score on that hole. Much beeter greens
Andrew
Have been playing this course since my junior golf days. Exceptional layout, unique hole designs, and greens run about a 12 on the stimp and roll true. I would rate this as one of the top 5 courses on the Grand Strand.
Cheryl
Love the layout. Conditions are always excellent. Love the gambler and the par 3's. Would have liked to have a yardage book. Considering the price, a yardage book should be included. But the gps was adequate.
Jignesh
Challenging and rewarding course for a golfer. Loved the gambler. The staff was helpful. The starter allowed me the flexibility to hit a few balls on the range although I was running tight for the tee time.
Ken
Third time playing King's North. Hard test and weather was cold and rainy so it made it even tougher. Will always recommend this course to others.
Morgan
Easy short cuts to each hole and an estimated time of starting (we were told 9a shotgun, but waited about a half hour or so before we actually began).
Will
Top of the line
Kevin
GPS is great but mine didn't work.
Bruce
Wonderful playable design for all handicaps. Gambler hole a real treat. You must play this course. I will come back every time I am at the beach
Mitch
Just a fun and challenging course to play!
Gary
Fertilizer was applied to the greens but starter didn't provide that information ahead of time. Cold misty day, so ball was covered in fertilizer after each putt. Lady on beverage cart didn't appear to enjoy her job.
Wesley
This was my favorite of the four courses. It's challenging enough, but playable for intermediate level golfers. The greens and fairways all in great shape.
Dave
King's North was our premium course of the 3 we played during our annual trek to the Grand Strand, and it is a great course. Upon arrival, the staff is focused and efficient at getting you out to the course. The design is really something special, with a lot of variety to the design, and lots of tees for all skill levels. There are a lot of smiles on the course, from the island green with the S C bunkers to the gambler hole and others. The course was also very fair, playable but reasonable for our group with handicaps that ranged from 16 to 33. Conditioning was very good, and the greens were particularly impressive because they were quick, true and consistent from one hole to the next. The dedication of the staff was visible in workers moving leaves (we played in October) and smoothing tee boxes between groups. There was only one rather large negative for us: pace of play was much too slow, due to a packed tee sheet that needed more time between groups. The scorecard indicates they expect your round to take 4 hours and 36 minutes. Ours was closer to 4 hours and 50 minutes. All the players we saw were pretty good and pretty quick, there were just too many groups on the course at the same time. I asked my buddies for whom I plan our annual trip, and they both indicated we would have gladly have paid another $15 - $20 each to eliminate the wait....on.....every....shot. If we come back to Myrtle Beach at a less crowded time of year, we would love to play this one again, but not during the busy seasons of April or Sept./Oct.
Mike
One of our favourite courses.
Sanford
Great course, will be back next time to MB to play golf
Tim
My favorite, it was so much fun
Angel
Great course. Will play again
Stephen
Beautiful course. Play it every year. Always a pleasure. Well maintained and visually appealing.
Don
Marker with distance to clear water on short par 4 was misleading; ground crew explained it was direct to green instead of to obvious landing area. Can you fix marker or keep tee box staffed?
Craig
Good golf course with several memorable holes. Greens were very consistent hole to hole.
Joe
The course is in excellent shape and boy were the greens fast. this course is very challenging and definitely worth the $ to play.
David
Played late August. Course was in great shape. Greens were fast and true. Several interesting holes. #6, the famous par 5 gambler, is high risk if trying to score, otherwise 'go for it.'
Francis
Course was challenging and unique. Loved the 18th, 12th and I thought one was a great starting hole. Staff was very friendly. Seemed to enjoy their jobs which was nice.
David
Haven't played King's North in 25 years. Still as challenging as I remembered it. Teed off at 7:30 in the fog. Had trouble seeing for first several holes. Especially a problem on ##6.
Tom
The greens were in great shape and fast.. was pleasantly surprised it wasn't cartpath only after all the rain we had in the past week or so.
Suzanne
It was great my son and I played 18 holes enjoyed every minute......the greens were fast, smooth and true
Tracy
Pro shop person was not very pleasant. Waited a very long time to play in Myrtle Beach and was very surprised at the way my family and I were treated. If this is Southern hospitality,, no thank you
Lambert
The course is great the pace of play is fast 3 1/2 hours.
Chris
One of my favorite courses.
Donald
The fairways were in great shape and plush. I thought the course was very playable for me, I had a challenging first few holes but played the last 12 at 5 over par which is very good considering my handicap. My favorite hole was the par 3 island green.
Jae
Beautiful course! Challenging too. Overall, excellent course for the price!
Trey
Greens were nice
Justin
Starter was not to be found and we had to get a scorecard from the group behind us. Additionally, the group in front of us was incredibly slow and when we mentioned it to the ranger (who we only saw once), nothing was done about it. For the price paid, we expected MUCH more from this course.
Normand
The view was very beautifull. Staff perfect. We love our day at King's North
John
Pro shop and starters were very disorganized.
Josh
King's North has a unique layout on every single hole - you can't say many courses. The Par 3's are beautiful, The Gambler is simply awesome, and the course has just the right amount of undulation which is unique for a Myrtle Beach course. One of my Top 3 favorite courses of all-time and I've played over 200 of them!
Jimmy
Great course; very fair but maybe a little tough for my wife and me. Had some good scores but ruined my round on a couple of real tough holes. still a very nice course
Sam
It was cart path only. This makes for very slow play. Round took over 5 hours.
Steven
I paid for two online but was told my son (11) plays for free. I called this website for refund instructions yesterday. No one called back. Please advise. Thank you.
Darren
Great conditions, but second to Grande Dunes for sure. More of a golf factory, which loses the southern hospitality we like in Myrtle. Greens were not as true as on previous trips. Food from beverage cart, sandwiches were rather skimpy. Practice Range had more sand than grass/dirt on it, so I'd skip it next time. Good fair layout.
Mitchell
One of my favorite courses in Myrtle beach
Debbie
Terrific
Nick
King's North is as advertised!! Extremely nice course layout, conditions, and aestetics. Would highly recommend. Challenging holes but very playable.
Jong
Played 3/30/13. First time playing here since new greens. Course was in great shape. Greens were fast and rolled true. Course is challenging, but playable for higher handicaps. Love this course along with Grande Dunes, Moorland at Legends, TPC. Will definitely play Kings North again. Put it on your list.
Barry
Beautiful layout and great conditions for March
Tom
Loved this course.
Chip
They have several nice unique holes, but the people that work the bag drop have attitude problems. The course gave away our replay tee times and the whole place seems like it is interested in processing as many people through as they can. The grill is ridiculously understaffed as the cashiers are also bartenders and cooks.
Dennis
RAIN played only 14 holes. Like to play again on a dry day so we can enjoy it.
Pat
Great time. Number 6 gambler was fantastic. Keep up the great work guys
Leroy
All aspects of the course itself were great, as usual. The problem was we had a 9:10 tee time but when we checked in we were told that they had our name in their system but no tee time and the sheet was full. This despite the written confirmation I presented. Did,however, get off at 2:30 due to efforts by the golf desk (D'Ann) at the Caribbean Resort.
Jerry
Very fine course...enjoyed playing it
Joseph
Pace of play was VERY slow.
Ted
Will definitely come back, always an awesome experience.
Joseph
I like the Gambler.
Eddie
Ok. Made tee time @ 11:50am on Friday for 9:24am Sat 2/9/13. With 2' of rain early Thursday morning the course was in very good shape! On our way to 1st tee the starter informed us that the front 9 had no cart restrictions but on the back 9 it was car path only as they just sprayed rough with round up and do not want tires to carry spray onto fairways. This is something that would be nice to know BEFORE making a tee time as I can not walk to far with knee problems. Hence the car to ride in. When I let the pro shop know about the cart path only rule on the back 9 his response was, they don't let us know what they are doing out there, they show up and do what they do. Sorry. Tell My knees that. King's North is a very nice course, but not worth what they charge over West or SouthCreek courses. If you can play at a reduced rate, play it, If not, play MB WEST. Plays as nice and at 1/3 to 1/2 the price, more fun.
Dick
Better directions to next tee or a better map of the layout .
BILL
Gives you the opportunity to play recovery shots. challenging but fair.
Phillip
Would have liked to know that they do not allow walking. I've walked longer courses then this one without issue. Also the fact that the airport had planes taking off right over the course was a bit distracting, every four minutes a jet was flying over your head. Other then that this was a nice track interesting layout; I like courses that make you think off the tee.
Timothy
We played on 1/14/13 and had a great round. The greens are some of the best around, firm and fast. The layout is great with a number or risk and reward holes. Tee to Green it's in great shape. The only drawback is the grill which is designed to handle large numbers of golfers due to the fact that there are 3 courses, it's cafeteria lunch, not really classy. We plan on returning soon.
John
The whole experience was wonderful. Can't wait to play it again.
Harold
Always enjoyable.
Paul
The course was in excellent condition. We were sent off as a twosome and were able to play at our own speed with no one in front or behind us.
Ray
Very slow play - I mean intolerable slow play. Where are the marshals on this course? We had 3 golf carts and and 5 golfers in front of us and they still kept pace with the slow golf course. Course was great, but the pace of play was poor. I cannot recommend it even though the course was great.
Donald
Great course. Lots of interesting holes. Great shape for this time of year.
David
Loved layout and scenery. It was busy on the day we played though. Not sure about the cafeteria style food which lacked a bit of class and was not in keeping with the quality of the the course.
Rookie
Cool course.
Gil
1st time to play it ... too much to deal with.
Diane
There is a lot of sand that you are allowed to actually drive through like a cart path. I would like to know the distance from the tee to the dog leg or hazard.
Keith
We enjoyed it.
Gabriel
One of the best for the price. Super layoff!
John
Best course we played. Luckily we played a scramble.
Bill
Great course. A real mix of challenges. Also very scenic. Several opportunities to risk a short cut not just on the 18th. Probably my favourite.
James
(Liked) the Gambler hole.
Gregory
Fabulous course. Am playing it again today.
Greg
The SC Hole was unique, along with the par 5 with the island landing area.
Danny
I would have liked to know that they use the crossover method for tee times. Was anticipating a quick round. Other than the crossover, I enjoyed my round and will play this course again the next time I am in the area.
Gerald
Because of the wet conditions we were unable to take carts to our balls which slowed play down also we had a senior with us and he was unable to play the next day because of the extra walking required. By the time we reached the back 9 conditions improved to allow 90 degree play. Beautiful course. Holes to remember, #12 par 3, with all the rain there was a small river running through the green. The Gambler and #18.
Kevin
Great course other than very slow greens. I have never had so many putts stop on a down slope. Would play again though.
Joe
Starter was an old crabby guy that was rude to our group. Do not plan on returning to this course.
Chris
Very unique and challenging. In great shape all around.
David
King's North was the best course we played by far. I can't think of thing that was worthy of complaint.
Michele
Great course, well maintained, some holes are very close to each other, noisy with some groups carrying on, endured some very slow play in front of us (beginners, groups who thought they were on tour and alone on course), marshall Tom was very good in helping out.
Earnest
Enjoyed this course will play again asap.
Glen
Fairways a little too narrow for me.
Charles
What i expected.
Steed
Staff were superior, greens & tees received less than excellent due to greens being new and tees had quite a large amount of divots - likely due to a tournament being hosted that morning, which we were not told about at time of booking, though resulted in our tee time of 12:20.
Michael
The course was great except for one thing, the greenside bunkers. Having all of that sand in Myrtle Beach, I was disappointed to see that they were thin to say the least. For the price of the course, I also expected raked bunkers. I also think the starter should have mentioned to us that when playing at sea level you should use one club higher than you normally would. I like the par 5 on the front nine that is a risk reward hole and think more courses should have such creativity in their course.
Craig
Playable, varied. Lots of water. The par 5 on the back is very challenging.
Olindo
It was raining so no carts on the course but not a problem because the curse was amazing from our perspective even with the rain. The only thing I would have liked is the the yardage markers be more visible - i.e., white 150, blue 200 and so on.
Shawn
Course was top notch ... One of the best I've played if not the best. We had booked 2 originally so we would have liked to know we were paired with another group. My nephew wanted to play and it caused a little issue with accommodating him in our group but all worked out. Once on the course it was unbelievable. Great prices on the Web as well saved us a lot of money!
Todd
It took us 3 hours to play first 9 holes. You waited before every shot. Not fun. Was so bad that we asked to play another course at turn. Played first nine in 3 hours. Second nine in 1 hour 50 min. However never got to play entire King's North course. Felt slighted because paid for King's North. No one asked about coming back. Guys that give you carts and clean clubs were nowhere to be found on arrival or at end of play. On arrival we got there 1:05, it took 15 min. to find guy to give us cart. At end they were never found. Pro shop guys were good. I feel like slighted because I paid for King's North and you are obviously booking 2 tee times cause we had two 1:30 starts and course was stacked. Poor play. Would not go back until I'm confident play is faster.
Derek
It was a little chaotic in the pro shop. The personnel were not very friendly and there was very little direction from them about anything. They didn't ask if it was our first time there, didn't offer info about the course or range, and acted like they didn't want to be bothered. Had no idea the range cost money, which felt like a rip-off, considering 90% of their business is from tourism. No course books available and there were no nice amenities (towels, GPS in the carts, etc.). The starter was great though and very, very nice, and the course was in very good condition.
Drew
Great course, greens were fair with many unfixed ball marks, other than that it was a great experience.
Sam
Course was interesting and challenging.
Brad
Really enjoyed this course, very forgiving, if you don't mind recovering from under pine trees or within traps. Buy the yardage book. Great par 3's. Great course for guys trip with varying HCP's.
Will
Beautiful course ... even in the rain!
Murnice
We always save the best for last. Enough said.
Thomas
Great layout with several memorable holes. Fairways and tee boxes were exceptional. Sand traps and greens were good. Definitely would recommend especially since they are changing the green surfaces to championship bermuda.
Brandon
Loved the course design. The Gambler is a very unique hole. The course is well manicured and the staff is top notch.
James
The Gambler is interesting. Complimentary yardage book would help for a course like this that people don't play often.
Michael
I took on the Gambler and won this time! If you are afraid of sand, go elsewhere.
Richard
(Would like to have known prior to play) the number of holes that water played a part of the fairway. I should have purchased a course guide.
Robert
Overall excellent course.
James
Great feeling and excellent use of the property. All of us would recommend GPS on carts because so many of us are travelers that do not know the course ... would speed play also. Out of 7 courses played 2 of 3 in our group rated King's North the highest.
Alain
Great golf and thanks for finding my cell phone which I left in cart.
Jim
Had first tee time of the day - but went off as part of the 4th group. Recognize the need to fit in a single is difficult but holding up multiple singles and doubles to accommodate a late group of 17 golfers does not seem an example of good starter management.
Harvey
It took over 2 and 1/2 hours to play 8 holes on back side. A foursome of drunk so-called golfers were allowed to start just before we made turn.
Chastity
Beautiful course! Staff was very courteous and accommodating through the rain.
Anthony
Course not in great shape. Average layout, old and tired feel.
James
Course was great & a real test. Bag drop attendants were not much help. Favorite holes - 6 & 18.
Chuck
I really enjoyed the challenging layout with all the water and bunkers. Many more hazards than I play normally. I really liked it and will play again next year.
Michael
I play the majority of my rounds on a private Palmer course ... very much alike. All you would expect ... play was very slow (5+hour round).
Sean
Great course. Definitely would play again. Only suggestion is to have the yardage books give details about each hole and how to play.
Dario
Enjoyed it very much.
Roger
One of our favorite courses, great condition; generous fairways on most holes; everyone likes the Gambler.
John
Course was in great shape. Greens and fairways were excellent. Enjoyed the day and will definitely return to play here on future visits.
Jason
Loved hole 12, the Gambler (no. 6), hole 18.
Lisa
Extremely difficult course ... should not be recommended for women golfers or anyone that shoots above 85.
David
Great course ...
Trevor
I loved the course, it was a lot of fun and in great condition. Greens were quite slow but still fun. Range balls are very hard. I would definitely play here again and plan to next time I am in the area.
Matt
Greens were in great shape. Good value. I would play it again.
Yves
Layout is superb, great course.
Drake
Friendly and well-organized operation; course was in excellent condition; greens running long and grainy.
Ron
This has quickly become my favorite course on the Strand. The course is in excellent shape ...
Jerry
The best course that I have ever played. The astro-turf like fairways were fantastic. The greens were fast and very challenging. I was pleased to shoot a 92 and even more pleased not to lose a ball into the ample water on the course. A fun and challenging course that I hope to play again in the future.
Rich
This course may be the best course you ever play in Myrtle. The layout and hole design are genius. The course will leave you breathless.
Daniel
Course is always in good condition at minimum considering time of year. Greens were a bit beat up. Always enjoy MBN!
SouthGA
This track is on our normal grouping. Course was in great shape today. The fairways were excellent and greens fast. Saw other posts relating to the greens being dinged up. The greens ARE dinged up because inconsiderate players don't bother to fix their divots. Never seen anything like it. It's like people think they pay the fee and don't have to have any manners and leave the greens in the same shape when they leave them. Not the fault of the course grounds crew at all. Pace was okay. Again, the group in front of us had an open hole in front of them and couldn't care less about the pace. Good time and we'll be back again next year.
Mike
Really enjoyed the layout. Lots of water, and the bunkering was challenging on some holes. Unfortunately we played it on a cold day with wind gusts of 40 mph, so we were not able to enjoy it to the fullest. Definitely would like to come back on a nice weather day to be able to concentrate on the course without being blown over sideways! My only 2 complaints: 1)The yardage book was not very helpful, as there were no comments/tips on how to play the holes ... almost all yardage books include comments on the best way to attack each hole, and never having played the course before, I definitely lost some shots due to unfamiliarity. 2)There was not a single golf shirt in the pro shop that said King's North on it. I even asked the pro there. So I bought a MB National shirt, but with KN being the headliner there, I really would have liked a KN branded shirt. I have to imagine that many people feel the same way. I was shocked that you literally did not sell KN shirts at all.
Quenton
Loved the layout and design. Everything about this course from the pro shop to the tee made me feel important.
John
Great course; consistent.
Wallace
Played the North on 2-18-12 and could not have been more pleased. James obviously is not a golfer if he thought these greens were bad. Bentgrass greens tend to have different color schemes in the winter from purple to green but there was nothing wrong with the playability. They were smooth and fast and like all bentgrass greens they had some ball marks. My group thought they were the best of the week.
James
I played King's North this past Wednesday afternoon. I expected a lot from a premium course based on the price and reputation. Although I was impressed with some of its gadget holes ... I was not happy with the greens. They look as if diseased or have 10 different grasses growing. Beat up; unrepaired ball marks made the putting tough. Other less expensive courses in town seem to have their greens in a lot better shape lately. But my biggest disappointment was the 5.5-hour round. We waited every shot with not one sight of a ranger to move the pace of play at a more enjoyable speed ... I can't imagine what it would be like in season. Not exactly the overall experience we were hoping for.
Joe
Excellent course from layout, challenge, fun, and fairness. Is one of the top 5 courses on the Strand.
Steven
Great landscapes.
Greg
Great place to play golf. We play here every time we come to Myrtle Beach. Keep up the good work.
Alvie
Yardage books would have been nice - overall, it was great golf experience.
Mr.
Always a pleasure to play King's North. Holes No.3, 6 and 12 are always fun.
Alex
Look forward to playing this course when it is not so cold and windy.
Gary
It is a tough but fair course, demands excellent tee shots. It would always be nice if all the golf courses would have a way to inform first-time players what part of the green to hit to, relative to the pin positions. I know that is not easy but would be nice. The overall experience was wonderful. A course I would like to play every day.
Seung
King's North ... What a beautiful course! Very well maintained fairways and greens. Lots of water hazards made for difficult shots, but really enjoyed this course. I wish I could visit and play again.
Lon
(Would like to have known prior to play) how many water holes were on the course.
Dave
Replay price too high.
Tom
Great course. Have always loved playing this one.
Paul
Played King's North Saturday with a group of 11, had a wonderful time. Beautiful course, and only the greens could have been a little better. I'd like to play it on season to see if that makes a difference, and the Gambler is great fun in one hole.
Rob
We played all three courses at MBN and this is the best of the three courses; in great shape.
Kitch
King's North is a course that is easy on the eye but can be hard on the scorecard if you forget to manage it. It's constant risk vs. reward which leaves you excited one minute and humbled the next. The Gambler lives to chance another day.
Rick
The joy of playing King's North is the gift of the round. A great mixture of challenge vs. reward shots makes it fun. The Gambler got me once again but I'll be back for another attempt.
Stephen
Enjoyed the uniqueness of each hole. The course was challenging but fair. Found greens difficult to read. Hole #10 was my favorite because I birdied it :-) Gambler was fun to play (went for it). Would definitely recommend.
Mitchell
I really did enjoy playing this course and look forward to playing it on my next trip to Myrtle Beach.
Ray
Will make it a point to return.
Robert
The most pleasant place to play.
Kevin
Very challenging course, with plenty of water. Loved holes #6.
Matthew
Very pretty course to play. Good layout of holes.
Don
Excellent layout. Exactly as advertised - no complaints!
Michel
Great golf ... nice look.
Jacques
Very nice golf course but yesterday, greens were awful ... lots and lots of unrepaired ball marks.
Jerry
Great course. Very friendly staff and they rate right up there with Wild Wing. Very relaxed start to the round. This course is one of the most golfer friendly, playable courses in Myrtle Beach and we always return to it every time we come (and that has been 8 times for me)!! I especially love the par 3's. Challenging, but not just because of length as most courses tend to do now. Average golfers can really shoot a good score here as there are no severe holes waiting to punish you to the maximum!! Always well conditioned and beautiful.
Asher
No GPS.
Mike
Great condition, weather.
Jack
We always enjoy Kings North, especially the Gambler.
Mayer
King's North had to be one of the top 10 courses I've ever played, challenging, but with the right shot placement, the course played fair, everything about it was great.
Gregory
I would play that again.
Mark
Enjoyable course to play. Pick the right tees for your group. Memorable holes ... island green, short par 4 over water, Gambler, and the 18th.
Ron
I have played here before and is one of my favourites, but every time I play here the starter always stresses too much about slow play. I play fast but sometimes get teamed with 2 slow players. I want to enjoy my day on one of my favorite courses, too.
Jason
Great all around.
Judd
Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful layout and unique design. Very challenging and FUN! Will come back again.
Jeff
Cart path only made pace of play seem rushed. I did enjoy the experience. Greens were in great shape.
David
Gambler hole is just fun. Clubhouse is superb.
Tom
Great venue.
Jimmy
The course was in great shape. We were the first group off and the pace was really nice. The course set up is fair and brings in distance decisions. The landing area about 130 yards out from the hole was really wide keeping some errand tee shots in the fairway.
Billy
We liked the course layout. I would play again. The pace of play was good.
David
Very scenic, demanding layout but carts on cart paths only took a little away form the experience.
Billy
Loved the layout of the course. Greens and fairways were excellent. A must-play course.
David
Beautiful course, challenging reachable par fives to start both nines. The Gambler is a cool risk/reward hole, you can go for the generous island and have a good angle to the green in two, or go for the outer fairway and make it a three-shot hole with a very challenging angle for the third shot. I recommend every golfer experience this golf course.
Tyler
Great course in great condition late in the year. Starters are a little rude and paired us up with another twosome even though there were no other tee times around us. That turned a 3-hour round into a 5-hour round. Very fun course to play and well worth the money.
