Oftentimes I have students ask me how to hit a power draw. I'm going to give you three tips that will give you the keys to unlock the power draw. [Music]
The first key to hitting a power draw is to make sure you strengthen your grip. And I’m not talking about the pressure of your hands — I’m talking about the positioning. You want a stronger grip for this shot.
The second key is in your setup. As you’re addressing the ball, make sure your hips are slightly closed to the target. It doesn’t have to be much — just a little. One easy way to feel it is to pull your lead foot back slightly.
The third key is your shoulder alignment. I want to block my shot just a little with the lead shoulder, so I really notice it poking out in front. Some players like to hold a club up to visualize this — the butt of the club should point just right of your target. You want the same with your hips.
So those are the three keys. And lastly, when you’re swinging, just swing along the plane of the draw with the clubhead. Feel that motion and how you want to direct the ball — that’s how you’ll create a nice, powerful draw.
All right, I feel good and set up to hit that pretty draw. Here we go.
I hope you enjoyed those three keys to hitting a power draw. And don’t we all want more distance? If you liked this video, be sure to like and subscribe — we’ve got more game-changing golf tips coming your way.
