Hey everyone, I’m Meredith Kirk, LPGA Class A teaching professional. And today I’m at the beautiful Grand Dunes, and I’m going to give you a really simple tip on how to square the clubface. And I have some really cool alignment sticks that I’m going to use. So if you have alignment sticks, you need to go ahead and grab those. Now, let’s get to it.
Okay, as you can see here, I have two alignment sticks. The first stick is the target line. The second stick right here is going to be for body alignment. Look, it looks like a railroad track. That’s what we want. Now, you’re going to step into the sticks. So you’re going to be on the inside, and you’re going to align your heels against the back of the alignment stick. Now, I’m going to go ahead and square the clubface.
Now, this drill is really focused on squaring the clubface, and that’s why we have these alignment sticks. I’m going to square the clubface to where the leading edge is perpendicular to the target line. So this gives you a really good visual on how to make sure that you’re squaring the clubface properly. Okay? You have to try this. It’s great.
Now, as I set up here, I’m getting comfortable, and I’m going to take a little peek down at my feet, my knees, my hips, my shoulders, because I’m using the alignment stick behind my heels to make sure that I’m aligned. Okay, so go ahead and get set up here. Let me go ahead and give it a swing because I look really square right now.
That felt really good. The ball went straight. Such a good drill to try to get the clubface square because, look, your shot is going to revolve around what that clubface is doing at address. As you’re swinging through, you want to make sure when you make contact with the ball that the clubface actually gets back to square.
So I hope that this drill helped you. Okay, so let me know if you like that drill. Go ahead and like this video. Don’t forget to subscribe. Comment below.
