From Augusta to St. Andrews and TPC Sawgrass, World Tour Golf Links recreates some of golf’s greatest challenges, and it has done so to great effect.
Yes, the replica of Hogan’s Bridge and the Swilcan Bridge will draw cameras, and the plaques detailing each hole’s origin add a layer of history, but the real story is the golf. Strip away the backstory, and World Tour still stands on its own as a layout that delivers a memorable day.
As you make plans for your next Myrtle Beach golf trip, here are answers to the most Frequently Asked Questions about World Tour.
What can you expect?
The challenge at World Tour is significant and it’s varied. You will have the opportunity to pull off a heroic shot one hole and need deft touch on the next. Even if you showed up knowing nothing about the course’s concept, you’d still walk away having had a great day.
A round at World Tour is educational and it’s always fun to imagine yourself playing at Augusta National, but the Myrtle Beach layout isn’t a novelty act. Here is what you can expect:
Black Tees – 6,525 yards, 72.2/130
Gold Tees – 6,214 yards, 70.6/126
Silver Tees – 5,826 yards, 68.2/121 (M), 74.2/128 (W)
Green Tees – 5,334 yards, 71.4/120 (W)
How are the two nines different?
World Tour doesn’t number holes in the traditional 1-18 format, opting instead to brand the Open and Championship nines. Here is a quick look at both:
Open Nine: This is the slightly easier of the two sides. Your round begins and ends with wide, welcoming fairways inspired by St. Andrews, giving you room to swing freely. But in between, you’ll face one of the most nerve-wracking shots in golf: the island green at Sawgrass’ 17th (here, it’s No. 3). Same look, same pressure. If you are going to score, this nine is your chance.
Championship Nine: Buckle up. On the scorecard, the Championship nine is only marginally longer, but it plays tougher. Holes 4-6 were inspired by Amen Corner, and they are what everyone expects, but the three closing par 4s, modeled after No. 14 at Olympic Club, No. 14 at Oakmont and No. 11 at Bay Hill, will define your round.
What’s your favorite hole?
The par 3s attract much of the attention, particularly the holes that resemble No. 17 at Sawgrass and No. 12 at Augusta, but I’ll take a different one-shotter. The third hole on the Championship Nine, inspired by Royal Troon’s “Postage Stamp,” is one of the most fun shots on the course. It’s just 126 yards from the tips, but the tiny green leaves no margin for error.
What do you need to do well?
You could say approach play and putting, but your round at World Tour will likely be defined by your tee shot. Three of the four par 3s prominently feature water, and there is ample trouble off the tee when you are hitting driver. If you’re not putting the ball in play off the tee, it’s going to be a long day.
Where are you most likely to make birdie?
Pine Valley doesn’t give up many birdies, but this is your chance. The sixth hole on the Open Nine, modeled after Pine Valley’s 12th, is a short par 4 at just 344 yards from the tips. You’ll have a wedge in hand, but beware – the green runs from front to back, so you are going to want to play your approach short of the flag.
How can I book tee times?
The best place to book tee times is at TheWorldTourGolf.com, MyrtleBeachGolfTrips.com or MBN.com.
Can I play the West as part of a golf package?
Yes. World Tour, along with all 21 Founders Group International Courses, can be booked as part of the Founders Group All-Inclusive offer, which includes lunch, range balls and two drinks, or the Rewards Package, which includes a $100 gift card for use in the clubhouse and for food and beverage.
How is the practice area?
The practice facility at World Tour is outstanding and it’s getting better. A full driving range, a chipping area, a large putting green, and a 19th practice hole help players prepare for their round, and a TopTracer technology range is opening in the summer of 2026. World Tour is a great place to practice.
Does the course allow walking?
Yes. Walking is permitted.
