Five Accessories That Will Make Your Next Golf Trip Even Better

The packing list for a Myrtle Beach golf trip doesn’t vary greatly from year-to-year, but some of us spend too many waking hours looking for golf gadgets or accessories that will make the next vacation even better.

If you are that person, here are five accessory items you will want to bring on your next golf trip.

— Bluetooth speakers aren’t new but if you want to take your on-course listening experience to the next level, buy the Sonos Roam ($169) and put it in your bag. TechRadar.com calls the Roam “the best bluetooth speaker on the planet,” and with more than 10 hours of battery life you can play 2+ rounds without so much as a recharge. Great sound and an efficient design make the Roam a must have if you enjoy tunes on the course.

— If you really want to familiarize yourself with the courses you are playing, “The Book” from PuttView (pictured right) maximizes your chances of playing well. “The Book” provides a yardage book that is detailed to PGA Tour standards and golf’s most accurate topographical greens maps. This is a relatively new accessory – it debuted in July 2020 – but “The Book” is a best-in-class product. Cost: yardage book only ($29); yardage book and greens maps ($49).

— Given that everyone needs to wipe their clubs off, may I recommend the Players Golf Towel ($24,95)? The PGT has been used for more than 50 PGA and LPGA Tour wins, including nine major championships, but quality alone isn’t what makes it special. You can personalize each towel, allowing you to deliver the message of your choice.

— For many, a little liquid lubricant is needed to get through a bad round, and if that is the case for you, the stainless steel “Swing Fluid” hip flask ($18) is a welcome aid. The 8-ounce flask comes complete with a leather cover to boot.

— If your game doesn’t require as much information as “The Book” provides, the Garmin S42 ($299.99) is golf’s premier GPS watch. Pre-loaded with 42,000 courses, the S42 (top photo and right) allows players to analyze and record shot distances with up to 15 hours of GPS-enabled battery life. Best of all, the watch isn’t just for wearing on the course. You can use it for fitness, sleep and step tracking as well.
