Designed by Gene Hamm, Burning Ridge opened in 1980 and received an extensive renovation in 2005 – catapulting it to earning “Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year” accolades by the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association based on the quality of the golf course, management and contributions to the Myrtle Beach community and the game of golf at large.

Measuring 6,780 yards from the longest of its four sets of tees, Burning Ridge is a par-72 course, with the standard 10 par fours, four par fives and four par threes. Those four par threes offer particular challenge—they all measure more than185 yards, with the 247-yard 12th leading the pack.

Burning Ridge is known for the widely varying size and shape of its greens - from long and skinny greens that reward straight ball flight as well as shallow, wide ones that place a premium on distance control. The green on the 529-yard, par-five 18th tests the former criteria: the right side is fairly deep, but the left runs only about eight yards from front to back, guarded by a bunker in front. Be sure to hit your highest, softest-landing wedge shot to keep it on the putting surface. Burning Ridge also boasts a full-service pro shop as well as an impressive practice facility with a grass driving range, putting green and chipping green with a practice bunker.

Fantastic.Tough track. It ate me up and spit me out !

Stanley (Etters, Pennsylvania)

Wet, cart path only, disappointing. Otherwise love the course.

Ed (Hot Springs , Arkansas)

Nice course, enjoyed playing, well planned, golf cart paths need work.

Ed (Hot Springs Village , AZ)

Enjoy playing at your golf course what you need to do something about the car path it's a little rough

Stanley (Etters, PA)

Loved the par 5's across water. Challenging.

Greg (Northfield, NJ)

I would have given the course a better grade & it probably wasn’t BR’s fault do to the bad weather lately

George (Brantford , ON)

Good condition considering hurricane

Ted (Myrtle Beach, SC)

Course is in excellent condition from Tee to Greens. The greens are very smooth & putting great. Some strong Par 5's & Par 3's on this course.

Ted (Myrtle Beach, SC)

Overall course is in good condition. Some rough patches on some front nice greens but very playable. Back nine greens are perfect. Nice staff. Pace of play was excellent. 3some teed off 7:30, back in the car by 11:20....

Pamela (Smoot, WV)

Beautiful and excellent place! We love it!

John (Aiken, TN)

The people were super helpful and nice. The course itself was beautiful.

Malcolm (Waterloo, ON)

Good course

Anthony (Sahuarita, AZ)

Great staff...friendly & knowledgeable!! Played twice in same day!! Great course conditions!! Will definitely be back to play again!! Thank you

Jason (MIichigan City, IN)

Greens in great shape. Fairways sporadic. Roughs have little grass. Traps are muddy colored. No cart girl. Not worth the listed rate of $72.

Ron (Corning, CA)

loved the whole experience

Marielle (St Romuald , QC)

Everything was good

John (Asheville, NC)

loved the greens, but course too crowded

Jean-Marc (Quebec, QC)

A little bit desapointed. I have had the same comment from others golfers.

John (Winston-Salem , NC)

The course was in very good shape. It was fully booked, so pace of play was a little slow, but it was expected.

Joel (Toronto, ON)

Great value for the price. Course was in good shape and a fun layout to play

Joseph (Duncannon, PA)

Nice course, will play again...well maintained and operated.

Chris (Delmar, NY)

Great day. 1 problem. They book both tees until 10 am, so when you make the turn you have to wait. Our round slowed down considerably at the turn.

Dan (Belleville, IL)

The golf course was fun the staff inside were extremely friendly. But are you ready the very best thing was their Grilled Chicken Sandwich!! It was absolutely delicious the best grilled chicken sandwich I ever had I’ve tried and tried to duplicate it at home I can’t do it I called the golf course up talk to the kitchen they told me how they make it my son and I three years later still talking about that same sandwich!

Wes (Iroquois, ON)

greens were in good shape for the time of year

Gerard (Gouldsboro, PA)

Great service by starters.

John (Poughkeepsie, NY)

Nice layout. Good challenge for average player.

George (Myrtle Beach, SC)

Very tight fairways and small greens. Some of the bunker placement is just “mean” to an average golfer. Beautiful setting and course in great shape.

Richard (Oakdale, CT)

Starter was very attentive and course was in great shape

Gary (Little River, South Carolina)

Well kept. Fairways and greens in good shape. Good people from bag drop to lunch counter. Look forward to playing again next year.

David (Richmond, VA)

Fair yet challenging course. Course is in excellent condition for Thanksgiving weekend. Starter was helpful on tips. Tee boxes level and flush-no bare spots. Previous players had used sand from cart to fill fairway divots. Greens were soft yet true to roll. Not crowded. 4 hour round. Must play gents and ladies!

Joe (Norwood, MA)

There is no sand in the bunkers

Craig (St. Thomas , Ontario)

Very busy front nine Much better back nine Many senior golfers playing just front none

Michael (Brantford, Ontario)

overall a very enjoyable round in all aspects - we would definitely play this course again as we felt comfortable with the layout (i.e. not too difficult / not too much water)

James (Fremont, CA)

Beautiful course, challenging, but not overly so!

Barry (Summerville, SC)

The course was in great shape. The greens were the best of the weekend. The staff were terrific and very nice. I recommend this course to everyone.

William (Wexford, PA)

Great value. Can’t beat it for the price. A very enjoyable round of golf.

Craig (Toms River, NJ)

Conditions great. greens beautiful. must play. real pleasant surprise

Jim (New York, NY)

Course is in very good shape and greens are challenging. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye.

Mike (Oneida,NY)

Course is in good shape. The greens are fast and true. Nice staff, definite must play.

John (Poughkeepsie, NY)

Course was in great shape. Enjoyed the layout

Fair but Challenging course. Tee boxes & Fairways are in very good shape. Some of the best Greens in Myrtle Beach right now. Course was extremely busy but pace of play was 4 hours as a foursome. Nice Staff.

James (Larchmont,NY)

Early in season , fairways and greens had a good set and condition . course is very fair for the golfer that plays in the fairway and even a little in the rough areas. Price well worth the experience .

Fair & Balance (local) The course is in excellent shape and we played 18 in a little over 4 hours as a twosome with a ladies group in front of us. This is certainly a shotmaker course, so even if the Gene Ham designs reflects over 6200 yard from the whites you can ease up on the driver. Place it and you will be rewarded! The greens are superb...kudos to the groundkeeper. JD

Loved the layout

This was our first time at Burning Ridge. The Staff was very professional and courteous, and the Course was in great shape. The Greens were fairly fast with subtle breaks, and playing from the gold/red Tees made the holes enjoyable. I would definitely play the Course again.

Douglas (Monroe, MI)

Had a great time . Play time was a little slow , but not bad. Greens were a little faster than other courses in area. Nice layout, risk/reward was at a playable level. Clubhouse was very nice. Only complaint was some sand hazards around greens needed more sand or deep raking.

Mike (Oneida,NY)

The golf course is in great shape. The greens are the best I've seen there in years. Fairways in good shape. The only negative were the traps were a little rough. The staff from pro shop to starter were great. Will definitely be back this winter.

Nothing really exciting about this course. The fairways are a little thin and some bald spots on a few greens. Not one of the better courses in MB.

Barry (Minden, Ontario)

Course was in great shape. Club house staff was friendly and helpful. Are tee time was 1:11 pm but we did not get off until 1:40 pm. We had to rush to get our round in before dark.

Drew (Myrtle Beach, SC)

Grill attendant was the only team member who does not seem to enjoy her job. Second time it's been noticed, unfortunately.
