Crow Creek Golf Club
Crow Creek Golf Club is rated among the Top 50 golf courses in North Carolina by NC Magazine and was nominated by Golf Digest as a candidate for America’s top new public courses. Crow Creek features an artistic layout of lengthy holes with water and vast bunkers, undulating L-93 bentgrass greens, manicured Tifsport bermuda fairways, and a clubhouse that is fashionably designed for the golfer that enjoys an atmosphere of chic hospitality. Crow Creek fulfills every bit of its 4-star status (Golf Digest “Places to Play”). Straddling the NC/SC border, this is the course that golfers return to every year for its close proximity to Myrtle Beach, comprehensive course features, and tranquil environment that every golfer finds irresistible.
Crow Creek’s signature hole is #7, the colossal Par 5, yielding 574 yards. This hole has water running along both sides of its narrow fairway. Additionally, sand bunkers are present midway through the hole, presenting an additional challenge to reach the green for par. This is the hole that you want to maximize your distance, so don’t be afraid to crush your driver. Conversely, if you don’t care for the challenge of the lengthy #7, you will love Crow’s Creek #13 on the back side. This 169-yard, charming par 3 gives the golfer time to wipe the sweat of their brow and enjoy pristine nature of the land. Although water is present on this hole, most golfers find it easy to play and easy to birdie.
Crow Creek Golf Club Course Course Reviews

Fairways and greens were in great shape. Challenging course, with large greens.
JefferyDate Played: 10/27/2022
Excellent course! We thoroughly enjoyed our round here. The course was in great shape and while challenging plays fair. The Greens have a lot of undulation, but the pins were placed in fair areas (flat spots/not side hill). Even if you were on the top shelf, you had a reasonable putt that did not run wild forever. We had a lot of fun and will be back!
WilliamDate Played: 03/27/2021
Sporadic Wet spots throughout course. Poor grasses on tees.
CarlDate Played: 05/16/2020
Very playable. Hazards and fairways are well marked, although the greens are a little tricked up. Tee boxes and fairways were sparse in spots, but that could be from the recent dry weather.
StanfordDate Played: 05/15/2020
Enjoyed Crow Creek and played 27. Greens were excellent. The fact the course is in NC kept us from using inside facilities...We enjoyed the starter!

Great experience course in good condition greens were quick
MichaelDate Played: 05/22/2019
Love this course. Great condition. Pace of play was good, with a ranger keeping things moving.
NEALDate Played: 04/24/2019
Course was in excellent condition however the course was overbooked 3 groups on every holes! Too much wait time and no place to go course just Over booked by staff and no management of starter on times did not help the situation. Love the conditions but unless staff controls tee times better its going to be a long day at this track

Great track played my best round ever. Fairways were in great shape, greens were a little slow but true. This was the first time we played this course in over 30years we all agreed to add Crow Creek to our play again list.

Always a pleasure from bag drop on. Course is in front of you with few obstacles along the way. Greens are fun to play, they roll true and breaks doable.
JongDate Played: 04/26/2018
Course was in great shape. Greens were very firm so it was difficult to hold them on approach shots or chips. Course was in great shape. Lots of undulations and level changes on the the greens. Greens were average speed becasue they had not cut them down to their final cut but still rolled very nice. Tee box and fairways were also in great shape. Would definitely play here again.
TeddyDate Played: 02/27/2017
Played course 2/24/17. What a goat trail. Greens rough as a gravel parking lot. There was no green in fairways only dormant grass. Was told by employees the ownership was not spending any money until summer when course would be closed for 3 to 4 months for a make over. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!
DaveDate Played: 10/07/2016
The greens were in terrible shape. A mixture of bentgrass and Bermuda, they were very bumpy, with patches of sand in the middle and around the edges. They were slower than any we played anywhere. The fairways appeared to be coming back from disease or something, and although they played all right, there were still places with no grass. Course could be an excellent place to play, but not worth the money right now.
ChadDate Played: 10/05/2016
Would have liked to know that they are having problems with their greens and that they are supposed to replace them prior to the next golf season. All in all our foursome enjoys playing Crow Creek.
JimDate Played: 07/17/2016
Have played this course before and it's a great layout with excellent greens. I love the course. However the current conditions are horrendous! The fairways are almost completely ruined with at least 5/6 completely unplayable. The greens are thankfully Ok. This course should really be closed and allowed to recover it's way to nice a track to be played on right now. I fully understand the management wants to have the course open earning money but they're doing a disservice to a very good golf course right now.

Staff in grill were great, pro shop had nice specials....greens could have been in better shape
KenDate Played: 03/20/2016
Crow Creek, an excellent golf course. Jack in the pro shop, was very helpful, and friendly. The food in the restaurant, was great too. The greens, and fairways, are in good shape. The greens were, fast and rolled true. Visually, the golf course, is fair, bunkered well, in good shape. For a course in Myrtle, I really liked, the bent greens. Would definetely play again.
MikeDate Played: 10/31/2015
The pro shop reception was great. The guy raved about the course and was sorry that it was cart path only, he said that they overseeded, and that was the reason. Strange, as every other course is cart path because of all the rain. The course layout is nice. but, the tee blocks and fairways were in terrible shape, all burnt up. Frankly not the cost. The green were just ok, short, but fairly fast. There are much better courses, one is River Hills.

Decent layout, but the greens SUCK!
JoeDate Played: 07/23/2015
This is a fair but challenging course with plenty water and sand. Conditions were good with the exception of the greens.
JohnDate Played: 07/09/2015
Green were punched some weeks earlier and have not recovered yet. Fairways have bare spots in prime locations. Need to work to improve fairway issue.
ScottDate Played: 07/07/2015
The staff was very friendly. The course lay out overall was nice but the greens were way to slow. Needed to be cut badly. And the fairway bunkers did not have any sand in them. I'm sure there is the excuse that they got rain but so did all the other courses I played and they had sand in the bunkers. If you don't want to maintain your bunkers then don't have them. Also our pace was great. No one behind us or in front of us the 1st 9. Then as we made the turn two groups were waiting for us to hit on 10. Why start them on the back. There was no one teeing off on one at the time.
TerryDate Played: 06/30/2015
Staff was outstanding, would have liked to know if my junior golfer was playing free prior to teeing off. I currently still don't know that we were reimbursed for our junior golfer. Have not gotten a revised receipt as we were instructed to receive.
SweeDate Played: 05/10/2015
Very well maintained course all around. What makes it stands out from the rest I played is that the real estate is set back far enough to give the course an openness that is lacking in the others. I rate Crow Creek as the best I played in Myrtle beach.
FrankDate Played: 04/25/2015
Crow Creek, over the years, has been our favorite course. But the fairways this year were not well mowed and cleaned up. There were rows of large clumps of mowed grass on just about every fairway.
HaroldDate Played: 04/10/2015
Holes were diverse and appropriately challenging from respective tees. The course was aesthetically pleasing from tee to green. Staff were friendly and accommodating throughout the experience.

LeonDate Played: 11/14/2012

JohnDate Played: 11/13/2012
Bad weather so played by myself. It was very windy and tee boxes were back so played very long. Greens were fast and very contoured which made putting a challenge. I liked the course and would play again. Cart path only made for a lot of walking.
RichDate Played: 10/30/2012
Tee boxes were burnt up, some fairways were in poor shape, greens were below par with damaged areas, pace of play 5 hours ... not good.
RyanDate Played: 10/10/2012
Wait staff / Cart girl were very friendly. The food was tasty. The course was in great shape, except for some greens which were lacking grass in some spots (spotty). But all in all, will definitely consider returning.
TimDate Played: 09/06/2012
I would have liked to know that the course was so wet. Made course conditions difficult.
RayDate Played: 08/23/2012
Very, very nice course, great layout no two holes look alike. Two of the nicest par 3's (8 & 13). Couple of the fairways were aerated that morning, bunker sand a little deeper than most MB courses, greens a little spotty (might be time to change away from Bent). Great course for mid to high handicappers and very woman-friendly.
GaryDate Played: 08/08/2012
Played Saturday 8/4, had a group of 24 in which we were running behind from playing that morning somewhere else. Called course and they worked with us to allow for later start, never any hassles. Staff was great, person working in snack/grill/bar was great but was only one back there so took a while to get an order placed. Course wise we were happy with exception of greens. There were quite a few greens where bermuda grass was growing in with the bent so greens did not roll as well as normal good bent grass greens would and they were pretty slow as well. Overall experience was average.
MattDate Played: 07/31/2012
Nice track, staff was friendly. Very fun to play for low and high handicappers, very fair, course is in great shape.
JoshDate Played: 07/29/2012

BrianDate Played: 07/24/2012
The course was in excellent shape. The greens were fast, smooth and receptive. Fairways and tees were great. Pace of play was good. No complaints on the golf side for Crow Creek. Grill was very slow and food average.
DavidDate Played: 07/21/2012
A few greens were starting to get a little rough and someone kept dragging their spikes a few groups in front of us. Other than that, this place is excellent.
CindyDate Played: 07/14/2012
Everything is perfect. The bent grass greens are the best on the beach. The fairways are immaculate. If you think this course is easy, try moving back a tee box or two.
K.Date Played: 07/11/2012
One of the least golfer-friendly places I have ever been. The staff is not very friendly, you are not allowed to take coolers, nothing but fried food in the grill. The atmosphere is just stiff. The course is not challenging in the least.

Great warm-up course. Open & forgiving with beautiful fairways and immaculate greens (rolled about a 9.5). Everyone was very nice. Played a leisurely 4-hour round with no one in front of us an no one pushing. The free hotdog & 2 draft beers weren't bad, either. Highly recommended.

Played Crow Creek on Friday, Nov 10, 2011. The course was one soggy mess. Almost every fairway were sloppy and wet. We were told they had overseeded. I played the course several times before and the course was always wet. Not sure why they need to water that much. Me and my friends do not plan to play here again!
ColinDate Played: 11/14/2011
Excellent, but it was so wet because of overseeding that it did somewhat spoil the experience. The free lunch was much appreciated. Will come again.

BrianDate Played: 07/04/2011
The course is in great shape. Tees, greens, fairways and traps were all in top condition. Good course for all handicap levels if you choose the correct tees. The par 5's are long from the Blues and the 4's are set up to allow you multiple club selections from the tees. Good Par 3's, with wide range of distances, making you play anything from a 9 to a hybrid, depending on the hole and wind. If you have the chance, put it in your package rotation.

MichaelDate Played: 02/21/2011
Really enjoyed the layout and plan to play again. The attendants were a little bit rude but that was probably because they were busy. We arrived more than an hour before our tee time and had planned to hit the range. Check-in took longer than expected, and we weren't given a cart to go to the range even though there were several carts parked at the clubhouse. Someone shuttled us over and said they'd be back to pick us up. In 10 minutes they came back to get us, and I hadn't finished warming up. I had to leave almost half of my balls there. As you know, the range is located near the first tee. When we came back, someone else was hitting the balls that I had paid for. I was disappointed that although there were plenty of carts available, we weren't allowed to use one to go to the range. I take my game seriously (4.1 hdcp.) and I need the time to warm up before a round. I couldn't understand the need to rush us around. But once we were on the course I had forgotten all about our problem. It is a beautiful course, and we do plan on playing there again.
AndyDate Played: 02/11/2011
CC has always been a favorite of my group. Finally got to play in good weather. Course has always been in great condition for late January.
JustinDate Played: 02/09/2011
Best course by far of the three we played. Course had been well manicured. The only downfall to this day was that we were unable to get any food from the snack bar area because they had sent them home because of the weather conditions predicted for the day. But I think if you are letting people play the course there should be someone who can access the snack bar for at least a pack of crackers and a drink. This won't take away from my experience at Crow Creek as this is my third time playing the course and the conditions are always second to none.
DavidDate Played: 11/25/2010
The fairways were overseeded and it was cart paths only. However the back nine was extremely wet, like a swamp.
TomDate Played: 10/26/2010
We play this course on many occasions and we go back because it is such a great experience.
DavidDate Played: 10/19/2010

RonDate Played: 10/16/2010
Don't know what the reviewer below me was seeing, the greens are in terrible shape. They suffered some kind of trauma this summer, and we found them to be lumpy and not cut or rolled in days by the looks of them. Made the putting almost futile. Would avoid this course 'til next spring, maybe the greens will be reseeded by then.
SteenDate Played: 08/25/2010
Played on August 25th. Was greeted by a very friendly staff. We were the first off so no problem with pace of play. Good course with challenging holes and more water than I had imagined. Par 3's were a good challenge and looking good and a bit intimidating although very playable. The greens had a couple of spots with bermuda grass creeping on in spots, but in general rolled very nice and with good speed. Fairways didn't roll much, but were in great shape. All in all a very nice golfing experience, with good conditions and a fair challenge. Will play again.
ClintDate Played: 08/21/2010

MikeDate Played: 05/06/2010

RickDate Played: 04/20/2010

LarryDate Played: 04/15/2010
Truly a first-class experience all the way around. Staff was friendly, course was in immaculate condition with some of the best fairways I have ever played upon, greens rolled true with appropriate speed for amount of slope, course layout is extremely fair allowing good shots to be rewarded and visually allows golfer to see shot shape required. Pace of play was slightly slow due to a large group immediately before tee time, but nothing to be overly concerned about. Would absolutely return and looking forward to doing so in the near future.
NealDate Played: 04/14/2010

Very disappointed with quality of the golf course in August. Greens in poor shape, chewed up, ball marks, crabgrass on greens, brown spots on greens. Fairways soggy from too much watering. I know it's August and you have to water bermuda to keep it going, but it was very soggy in a lot of places.

Played Nov. 9, 2008: Sopping wet and overseeded. Cart path only. Tees back at the worn edge. Pins upfront on greens. I won't play there again unless I confirm that it wasn't overseeded and soaked. Some in party couldn't finish. Ugly experience for an expensive course.

Played Nov. 1, 2008: Nice course. Fairways a little wet the day we played (not from rain). I assume there was a lot of watering to help the over seeding to take effect.

Commented on September 12, 2008: Great course, I played in early April and it was in great condition. Good value for your money.

Played June 8, 2008: The starter at Crow Creek gave us a lecture because we got to the golf course 5 minutes before tee time. He said we were lucky he didn't bump us. It was our first time down and sometimes it takes you a little longer to find the golf course.
