Jackson’s View Restaurant —named in recognition of River Club architect Tom Jackson, has given golfers and Pawleys Island residents a new reason to visit River Club—even when they aren’t playing a round.
Located inside the River Club clubhouse, the restaurant combines a full-service menu, welcoming sports-bar atmosphere and sweeping views of the course’s 18th hole. Although the renovated space began welcoming guests in October 2025, Jackson’s View celebrated its grand opening in February and has continued to build momentum within the surrounding community.
“The clubhouse is original to when the golf course opened in 1985,” said Lucy Stem, food and beverage manager at Jackson’s View. “Even though we remodeled the inside of the restaurant, we kept the floor-to-ceiling windows that provide those beautiful views of the golf course. That’s why we call it Jackson’s View.”
The redesigned restaurant features a horseshoe-shaped bar, fireplace and numerous televisions, creating a comfortable setting for watching major sporting events or enjoying lunch, dinner and drinks with friends.
The renovation has also allowed River Club to expand well beyond the traditional golf course food-and-beverage experience. Neighborhood groups regularly visit for lunch and dinner, while Jackson’s View has also become a popular gathering place for local mahjong groups.
“We’ve had a lot of people from the community bring groups from their section of the neighborhood for a luncheon or dinner,” Stem said. “People are excited that we now have this operation with a full-service menu.”
Golfers have been equally enthusiastic about the changes. Returning players who have visited River Club for years are discovering a completely refreshed restaurant, and more local golfers are staying after their rounds to enjoy a draft beer or share appetizers.
Among the most popular menu selections are Jackson’s View’s flatbreads, including Stem’s personal favorite, the putter pepperoni flatbread. It features cup-and-char pepperoni served on a lightly charred crust.
The grilled chicken club has also become a favorite among golfers and neighborhood diners. Stem describes it as fresh, filling and an easy choice for lunch.
One of the menu’s more unexpected standouts is the Snappy Pork Chop sandwich.
“Not a lot of people would think to eat a pork chop in the middle of the day, but it is truly one of the most tender, delicious sandwiches,” Stem said. “Some people even eat it without the bread, which is my secret preference.”
Jackson’s View will introduce a revised food and cocktail menu for the fall season. While many of its current favorites will remain, the restaurant plans to add more vegetarian selections and gluten-free alternatives based on feedback from guests.
With its golf course views, approachable menu and relaxed atmosphere, Jackson’s View has quickly developed into much more than a place to grab something at the turn. It has become a gathering place for River Club golfers, Pawleys Island residents and anyone looking to enjoy a meal overlooking one of the area’s most memorable finishing holes.
