20 Years Later TPC Myrtle Beach Keeps Building on Impressive Resume

Meredith: We are at TPC Myrtle Beach, and joining me today is Head Golf Professional Kevin Williamson. Kevin, thanks for having us in.

Kevin: Thanks for having me, glad to be here.

Meredith: Well, TPC has long been recognized as Myrtle Beach’s best, and it’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since you guys opened.

Kevin: Yeah, that’s crazy that it’s been 20 years. We opened in 99, we hosted the senior tour championship in 2000, we’re the annual host of the Dustin Johnson World Junior event, this is gonna be our fourth year. And also in 2019 we’ll be hosting the NCAA regionals.

Meredith: Wow. And also, TPC is one of the only golf courses at Myrtle Beach that has a five-star rating by Golf Digest.

Kevin: That’s correct. And also, we were just recently rated by Golf Advisor the top 50 public courses in America, we come in at 49. And they also rated by state, we come in at number three behind Harbortown and Caledonia.

Meredith: That’s amazing. You guys are racking up these accolades, it’s well-deserved because, let me tell you, this course is always in great condition, the greens and you have a new bunker system.

Kevin: Yep, we just recently renovated our bunkers in the summer of 18, and to go along with wall-to-wall it just looks amazing when you see it from the fairway.
