Welcome to this week’s Maginnes Minute!

Just recently, I was down in Myrtle Beach. Boy, I love the fall in Myrtle Beach – I love the spring in Myrtle Beach, too, and obviously it’s a huge summer destination. But, for me, the golf in the fall and the spring is second to none. I played Long Bay Club with former PGA TOUR player Hugh Royer (he, well, he beat my brains in on the course), and we had an absolute blast.

We stayed at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, which is right near the Dunes Club, and right at the entrance to the Resort Club at Grande Dunes. Those two golf courses will host the Professional National Championship in 2014, presented by the PGA of America, and what a host those two sites will be.

Twenty of those professionals will earn a spot in the PGA Championship next August. As a matter of fact, I’ll be in Myrtle Beach next August for the world’s largest golf tournament, the Golf.com World Amateur Handicap Championship.

So much to do, so much fun to be had! Looking forward to seeing you on my next vacation to the Grand Strand.

John Maginnes’ daily radio show, “Maginnes on Tap,” airs live on SiriusXM Radio 5-7 p.m. ET Monday through Wednesday, and immediately following live coverage of PGA Tour events Thursday and Friday on Sirius 208 and XM 93.
