Designed by renowned architect Tim Cate, Tiger’s Eye Golf Links in Ocean Isle Beach is one of four renowned designs in the “Big Cats” family at Ocean Ridge Plantation. Recognized by Golf Digest as one of the “Top 100 Public Courses in America” in 2007-2008, this links-style layout offers a true test of golf in a distinctive landscape that features native grasses and wildflowers, with scenic salt marshes and waterfalls. The signature hole No. 18, a 525-yard par 5, is said to be the most difficult of them all, but most scenic as well. Complimented by a waterfall at the tee box, stream running across the fairway and plenty of sand to challenge any level player, this hole is not one to forget.
Tiger’s Eye Golf Links has recently earned an overall rating of 8.5 from reviewers at the Myrtle Beach Golf Insider, with particular praise received for its friendly staff and all-around quality of golf experience.
Love the course, nicely laid out holes. Conditions were pretty good, service was great.

Course used to be in great condition, but when I play it 5/24/2020 it was not in good shape. The tee boxes were not mowed. The fairway was like playing out of the first cut of rough. The greens were bumpy and slow. Not sure what has happened but course needs some attention.

I played Tigers Eye Sunday 7/22/18 as a guest of a close friend. If not for the fact we were playing against 2 of his good friends, we would have left the course after 3 holes. By far, Tigers Eye is in the worst shape of any course I have ever played. Greens had bare spots the size of cars. (Seriously) Several greens had sod recently placed. Weeds were in the fairways and we had to drive around bushes and limbs hanging over cart paths. The rate was NOT reduced and we asked about condition before making tee time and were told "the course is in GREAT shape." Honestly, I think they have stopped trying to maintain the course and will shut it down after this season. I play 80+ rounds a year and Tigers Eye is in the worst condition of any I've played in several years.

Great layout. Overall course was in very good shape except for the greens. Greens on the back had several areas of damage from winter/whatever. Once greens come back should be real nice. I would wait about a month before playing again.

The course layout was so so for a premium cost course. The back side was definitely more interesting. 5-6 of the greens were in bad shape with areas that had little or blotchy grass. There are other courses that offer better value and at present time in better shape. Fairways, Tees and bunkers were all in good condition.

Course was in great shape tee to green. Not a very long course from the white tees (@6100yds), but challenging. Lots of dog legs. Shot makers course. Some of the bunkers were firm, but may be due to all the rain they had. Greens rolled very nice. Tough to read though. Would definitely play again.

I went there July 5 2013. It wasn't in good condition, there fairways are dug up. And the greens have sand and giant divots filled with sand.

The rudest, most unprofessional staff I've ever seen. The starter George took the keys from the carts until everyone stopped what they were doing and listened to him. Would not allow more than 1 foursome on the first tee at any one time. And they were surprised when we didn't want a picture? True Blue, Caledonia, Oyster Bay and King's North all allowed this, even encouraged it.

Holes 9 and 18 are beautiful finishing holes. Course puts a premium on driving. Greens are smooth, hard and require finesse. Frustrated with how fuzzy they were. Rolled slow, but the greens were so hard could not leave a divot and all approach shots bounced high and ran long.

Tiger's Eye is always the best course we play each time we go to Myrtle Beach. This course looks like a Pinehurst course. With multiple sets of tees it has always given our group of 4 handicaps to 30 a fantastic round for everyone. The staff has always been amazing. We will be there again at the end of April and looking forward to playing this again.

Tiger's Eye was a major disappointment. We have played there before and it was great, but this time the fairways were burnt out as were some of the tees. The greens were nice, but very slow. We will not go back there unless the conditions improve.

Typical Carolina layout. Not one memorable hole. Worst greens I have played in the Myrtle Beach area. The 2 best greens were the temporary ones cut in the fairway. BORING! Never again.

I have played Tigers Eye 5/6 times. On February 27, the greens had been recently plugged and were very bumpy. The fairways were thin and had many divots that had not been filled. My prior experiences at Tigers Eye were outstanding. This round did not meet my or my playing partners expectations.
