Now in its third year, the Myrtle Beach Never Forget Memorial Golf Outing has been a gathering point for firefighters, their friends & family, strengthening the bond between the Myrtle Beach golf community and the FDNY that goes back many years. Tens of thousands of first responders have vacationed along the Grand Strand, but in the aftermath of the 9-11 terror attacks, that kinship has grown even stronger.
In the 11 years since the attacks, more than 7,000 firefighters have come to Myrtle Beach for an annual event that has grown into the Myrtle Beach Never Forget Memorial Golf Outing, a four-day extravaganza of golf and good times.
Recently, SiriusXM Radio’s Brian Katrek and John Maginnes, hosts of “Katrek & Maginnes On Tap” airing weekdays from 5-7 p.m., took time out to speak with Nick Giordano, tournament director for the Myrtle Beach Never Forgets Memorial Golf Outing being held May 18-21, 2014.
