Winding through the luscious landscape of tall pines, Wild Wing Plantation is every golfer’s paradise. Designed as a signature course by the team of Jeff Brauer and Larry Nelson, the Avocet presents creative contouring, elevated tees and greens, double fairways, grass bunkers and even a double green serving 2 holes. The Avocet was recognized by Golf Digest as among “1994 Top 10 Best New Courses in America,” as well as being consistently rated a 4-star recipient since 1996 in its “Places to Play” guide.  Golfweek has ranked Avocet at Wild Wing as #6 in South Carolina in their 1995 “America's Best Golf Courses” listing.

Number 14 on Wild Wing’s Avocet course is considered by most as its signature hole.  From its elevated teeing ground, this hole gives players the option to be aggressive and try to drive the green, or lay up in one of its two fairways.   With water on the right, deep trees on the left, and a hog’s-back green, No. 14 provides everyone with a challenge. A close second to this hole would be the double green shared by Holes #6 and #17. With multiple pin locations on each hole, this double green will provide everyone with lots to talk about after the round.
