Dunes Golf & Beach Club

  • Overall: - 9.20

Since the Dunes Golf & Beach Club opened all 18 holes in 1950, the recognitions and accolades have been countless.  The Robert Trent Jones course consistently ranks annually as a "Top 100" course in both Golf Magazine and Golf Digest.  The design has been the proud host of a US Women's Open, six PGA Senior Tour Championships, USGA Championships and multiple PGA Tour Qualifying events. After playing it for the first time, Lee Trevino said, "That's a fabulous golf course.  It's one of the best I have ever played."

The signature hole at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club is the 590-yard 13th.  A long, three-shot par 5 with water to the right off the tee, the player must also carry this water on his or her second shot.  A mid to short iron approach to a small two-tiered green keeps the player on their toes until the ball is holed.  Those thinking of an easy finishing hole will be quite surprised when they reach "Little Gator,” a long par 4 with water fronting the back to front sloped green – a great finishing hole to a fantastic golf course.

  • Rick - Have been coming to MB for 29 years to play golf and this was my first expereince at Dunes Golf and Beach Club. A friend got my group a very good rate and it was more enjoyable at that rate. I have heard so much hype about Dunes and I guess I was just expecting more. Don't get me wrong. Great golf course in excellent shape. I guess it just did not have the WOW factor I expected. Definitely was on my Bucket List and now it has been ticked off. The greens were super fast, the fairways in good shape and all in all the course is very playable. More of an old style golf course with moderately generous tree lined fairways. I can see why it gets high reviews but I have played other courses in MB with more of a WOW factor to them. If you have not played Dunes, at least play it once and decide for yourself. - 09/22/2016 - 10

  • Robert (Barnhart, MO) - The course was beautiful. It's a difficult course but not as bad as I thought. No complaints. - 09/06/2016 - 10

  • Tom (Long Beach, CA) - Favorite course on the Grand Strand. - 07/08/2016 - 10

  • Robert (Island Lake South, AB) - Excellent Experience. - 06/28/2016 - 10

  • Darren - Conditions were as close to perfect as we could ask. Fairways were lush, tightly mowed & we got some roll. Greens were perfect running about an 11. Great practice facility, and it was a joy playing a 4 hour round :) Yes it's pricey, but we felt it was well worth treating ourselves, & we plan to do it again on our next trip!!!! - 05/16/2016 - 10
