Dunes Golf & Beach Club

    {hotel-image-caption}
    {hotel-image-caption}
    {hotel-image-caption}

Since the Dunes Golf & Beach Club opened all 18 holes in 1950, the recognitions and accolades have been countless.  The Robert Trent Jones course consistently ranks annually as a "Top 100" course in both Golf Magazine and Golf Digest.  The design has been the proud host of a US Women's Open, six PGA Senior Tour Championships, USGA Championships and multiple PGA Tour Qualifying events. After playing it for the first time, Lee Trevino said, "That's a fabulous golf course.  It's one of the best I have ever played."

The signature hole at the Dunes Golf & Beach Club is the 590-yard 13th.  A long, three-shot par 5 with water to the right off the tee, the player must also carry this water on his or her second shot.  A mid to short iron approach to a small two-tiered green keeps the player on their toes until the ball is holed.  Those thinking of an easy finishing hole will be quite surprised when they reach "Little Gator,” a long par 4 with water fronting the back to front sloped green – a great finishing hole to a fantastic golf course.

Have been coming to MB for 29 years to play golf and this was my first expereince at Dunes Golf and Beach Club. A friend got my group a very good rate and it was more enjoyable at that rate. I have heard so much hype about Dunes and I guess I was just expecting more. Don't get me wrong. Great golf course in excellent shape. I guess it just did not have the WOW factor I expected. Definitely was on my Bucket List and now it has been ticked off. The greens were super fast, the fairways in good shape and all in all the course is very playable. More of an old style golf course with moderately generous tree lined fairways. I can see why it gets high reviews but I have played other courses in MB with more of a WOW factor to them. If you have not played Dunes, at least play it once and decide for yourself.

Conditions were as close to perfect as we could ask. Fairways were lush, tightly mowed & we got some roll. Greens were perfect running about an 11. Great practice facility, and it was a joy playing a 4 hour round :) Yes it's pricey, but we felt it was well worth treating ourselves, & we plan to do it again on our next trip!!!!

We really enjoyed the course. Nice layout and the starter got us out a little early so we were ahead of several foursomes. Once we played through the foursome ahead of us, we had clear sailing and made it around in about 3-1/2 hours. Tees and greens were terrific. Greens are fast but run true. Lots of grounds crew out rolling the greens and maintaining the course after the recent rainstorms. Fairways were still carts on path and there was standing water in some areas; however, the course is quite playable. We'd definitely play again and would like to play it under drier conditions. One of the nicest rounds we played in Myrtle Beach. Restaurant overlooking the ocean had great lunch choices as well. The tuna melt was delicious.

I hadn't played the Dunes Club in a number of years. I won't wait that long again. This is a classic golf course with great shot values but it was the greens that made it a great experience. They were in perfect shape; very fast and smooth. It took us a couple of holes to adjust but they were great to putt on. The staff was great and our foursome finished in 3:40! A definite must play!

Keir (Rittman, OH)

07/12/2015

Greens roll great and and have softened after the reseeding. Fairways were unusually thin with some areas sparse of turf. Always an enjoyable classic layout.

06/11/2015

Yes, this is a nice course. But based on all the reviews i would have expected something special. The course is well maintained, lush and great fairways, greens were in quite good shape with some minor and small spots (a little slow) and bunkers were mostly ok. It's a 1980's layout which you will feel being on the course. It's a fair course with some holes along water and one along marshland. However, i would have expected much nicer views since it's called the Dunes. Just one hole, which is number 9 offers a view of the ocean but in some distance. Compared to other courses in the area it's definitely overpriced and there's way nicer layouts. The friendliness of staff was ok, food as well but with limited choices. The view from the clubhouse is nice, it faces the ocean. I wouldn't play it again, at least not for that price we paid.

Long delays because on lightning made the experience less than ideal.

06/02/2015

The third oldest golf course in the Myrtle Beach area. This is just a great layout. It reminds me of a plantation type golf course and is a fine layout offering very different type of golfing experience. I like this golf course a lot and enjoy the diversity of holes and required shot making requirements. As I recall it requires 5 left to right tee shots and 5 right to left tee shots so bring your A game. Just a grand old golf course that is fun and interesting to play.

KJ (Teaneck, NJ)

05/23/2015

A must-play course. Impressed in every way. Very challenging and yet fun to play. Top notch condition all around.

03/22/2015

There is a reason this course is always rated #1 in Myrtle Beach. The staff treats you like they are glad you are there. The course is always in perfect condition. The layout is tops. Our group plays here every year and that will continue.

Green were immaculate and rolled fast and smooth. The 13th is my favorite hole.

Glenn (Bloomingdale, IL)

12/08/2014

Simply top of the line...among the best. A traditional parkland course with raised green complexes, with very fast greens that take a little getting used to, and that can make for difficult approaches given their bunkering. All in our group always enjoy our experience here.

Range balls were provided. The course was in great condition everywhere. The new in summer 2013 Champions greens were perfect, also firm and fast. Just 2 days after a long heavy rain, the greens were very firm, so there can be some pins you can't attack. The bunkers are the best maintained in MB. The white tees are 6175 yards, but a bunch of holes have landing areas into an upslope, so it plays longer. The greens are elevated, so there are no bounce ups. There is enough challenge for low handicaps, even from the white tees, since the short holes have smaller and/or more undulating greens. High handicaps don’t get beat up like at some courses. The wooded areas are cleaned out, so finding balls in the woods is easy, helping the pace of play and scores. A few holes have houses, but they are way off the fairways. On Waterloo par 5 ##13, I feel it's better to hit your tee shot further down the fairway (staying left), for a better angle across the water to advance further up the fairway, rather than taking an iron and trying to play near the water from the tee. Hole ##13 is a good gator viewing hole, with some big ones.

Rick (Dundas, ON)

Loved the course. Greens as slippery as a kitchen table and true.

Menlo Park Mark

10/09/2014

This is a classic RTJ Sr. course design with elevated undulating greens and cavernous bunkers surrounding them. The greens were in exceptional condition and rolled true and smooth. The course plays long due to the moisture in the conditioning with lots of mud-balls. The variety of hole layouts made this a memorable round

Tom (Vandola, OH)

Great shape great golf course.

William (Carlisle, PA)

09/29/2014

Staff very good and friendly. Course very wet from recent rains and had to do cart paths only. This caused longer play and made course more difficult due to no roll. Greens also. Look forward to playing again sometime when weather conditions are better.

Another course we have played in past years and it was even better than the previous times. The course was in unbelievable shape for the last day of February. Rough was dormant, but the rest of the course was green and full. The course itself is challenging. Lots of trees to find if your ball drifts, but keep it straight and you are fine. Bunkers are well positions and many opportunities for risk/reward. Starters were professional and friendly, club house staff were helpful, the grill was 'fine'. Will definitely return to The Dunes. In my opinion, you can keep the stuffiness of TPC, the over-inflated self-opinion of True Blue and Caladonia, and the arrogance of the World Tour (all are nice courses, but the staff have a higher opinion of the property then any of them merit). If I had to recommend three courses in Myrtle Beach, the Dunes Club would make the cut every time.

Range balls were provided. The course was in great condition everywhere. The bent greens are great, smooth, firm, fast and true. Champions greens are coming this summer. The bunkers are the best maintained in MB, with tour style firm sand to walk on, but a SW cuts right through it. They also pack/roll the sand on the faces, which help prevent plugged balls and washouts. The white tees are 6175 yards, but a bunch of holes have landing areas into an upslope, so it plays longer. The greens are elevated, so there are no bounce ups, unless you hit a skull/stinger. The wooded areas are cleaned out, so finding balls in the woods is easy, helping the pace of play. A few holes have houses, but they are way off the fairways. On Waterloo par 5 ##13, I feel it's better to hit your tee shot further down the fairway, for a better angle across the water to advance further up the fairway, rather than taking an iron and trying to play near the water from the tee. There was a 4 gator cluster at about the 100 yard mark on ##13. That is a good gator viewing hole, but I have never seen a cluster like that before.

11/14/2012

First class golf course. Old country club type of course that is well laid out and taken care of. The 600+ par 5 around the lake must be played with caution and a certain way or you must expect a bogey at best. Key to this course is to play the tees that match your skill level or it will be a long day. Mostly raised greens so extra club required on almost every hole.

Bob (Jasper, GA)

11/11/2012

Excellent course. 13 is awesome. Would have liked better signage and know that there was an alternate hole to be played.

Larry (Colorado Springs, CO)

11/07/2012

This course has been rated the #1 course in Myrtle Beach. The layout is excellent and the par 5 13th hole is a bear. The greens were not in very good condition. You could see where they might have had some kind of fungus. For $122 it could have been better.

Deserves its place as one of the premier courses on the Beach. Outstanding conditions and a true test of every part of your game. No. 13 is a great golf hole, and the whole course is strong. A little stuffy and maybe over-priced, but still a very nice golf experience.

Cart staff not quite together with things when showed up. Was busy though. Pro shop very good. Course in great shape. Can't wait to play again. Grill was unorganized. Had to deliver our orders out on course. And it was cold food. Overall super experience. Course is awesome.

The course is one of my favorites.

James (Dublin, OH)

08/21/2012

The Dunes was excellent. Traditional layout, beautiful, established. plenty of sand and water on the course. Elevated greens - take an extra club on every approach. The greens were in excellent shape in mid-August. They rolled true, but were a bit slower than my home course.

Bryan (Denver, NC)

08/18/2012

Starter stated that pace of play was the most important thing to remember. The course allowed a member who was also an injured ex-NFL player and guest to ruin a good day. The course wouldn't do anything to help speed up the round and the group wouldn't allow other to play through ... they were very rude. We are all members of a club and our clubs would not allow this type of behavior or pace of play. We paid a lot to play this course and it was probably one of the best conditioned courses that I've played. Too bad they allowed this to mess up what could have been a great day.

Robert (New Milford, NJ)

08/16/2012

Great.

Jesse (Lancaster, PA)

08/01/2012

Awesome course! One of my top 3 of all time and it was not even in season! Greens rolled nice and fairways like carpet. Tee boxes were pretty nice. Immaculate mowing job. 13 was probably the most challenging hole and we even saw an alligator in water. We are used to playing at Bayside in Ocean City, MD area so the quality was a match for us and what we are used to. I can't wait to play there again.

Doug (Raleigh, NC)

07/31/2012

I had been waiting to play the Dunes for years, it is now in my permanent rotation. The service is as good as any private club, practice range is excellent and included in the greens fee. Layout is very enjoyable, a must play. My only minor complaint is the greens were a hair slow, but the rest of the experience was spectacular.

Rick (Saint Matthews, SC)

06/23/2012

Don't let members feel like they own the place. Our foursome was constantly waiting for a single who was playing multiple balls. That is unacceptable and very poor etiquette. When we made the turn and mentioned to the starter all he said was that he was a member. Then it got worse on the back side. He appeared to be getting a lesson. Again holding up our foursome. A single should never hold anyone up. When mentioned to another worker and were told the single does this every morning.

Pro shop is a little snooty towards non-members. Course was in great condition and I like the layout very much. Had a nice time in the grill afterwards - Ben the bartender was very nice.

Gorgeous place and a great experience. I hope to play it again when I'm playing better.

John (Oxford, Mass.)

02/24/2012

01/16/2012

Best course in all of Myrtle, and I have played over 85 courses. Greens have been near perfect every time I have played there. Great stretch of holes beginning at #9 and ending at #13. Also great finish at #18. Met, I believe it was Greg in the Pro Shop, and had a good time talking with him. Having trouble getting your slider ratings to turn green?

Danny (Owings, Md.)

01/12/2012

Always in great condition. Play it every other year.

Roger (White Hall, Md.)

01/12/2012

Very hard course, too much sand, greens hard to read.

Warren (Asheville, N.C.)

01/09/2012

I've played Dunes once before in pouring rain: still loved it. I was glad to play it in better weather. Both times the course - from tee to green - was in excellent shape. Best greens I've ever putted on. Friendly, professional, efficient staff. Wish I could play it more often.

Tom (South Hamilton, Mass.)

01/02/2012

Well maintained and fast greens. People were very friendly. 2nd time playing and thoroughly enjoyed the 4.5 hrs.

Frank (Middle River, Md.)

12/14/2011

Course had a nice layout. Greens weren't so good, especially 18.

John (Warren, Ohio)

11/30/2011

Did not live up to the hype. Starter very personable, bag attendant extremely pleasant.

Larry

11/28/2011

Always in great shape. That's why we have been playing it for 20 years straight.

Dianna (League City, Tex.)

11/15/2011

Pro shop employees couldn't have cared less if we were there (possibly because we weren't members). Course staff were fine, but nothing special. Doubt if we would play it again unless have new people in our group who wish to play it.

Mike (Boulder Creek, Calif.)

11/03/2011

Excellent.

Garie

10/28/2011

Would not play this course again. All the greens were very poor with dead grass in many big brown spots on every hole. They were in the worst shape of all the courses I played while I was in Myrtle Beach. There is no GPS and no maps on the tees or the scorecard to show you where you should be hitting to or where the green is. Sure, for $7 you can buy a course map but when you pay $177 for a round you think they might throw it in. The course is not too wooded and you can usually see 2 or 3 other holes wherever you are. This makes you feel like you are playing with 12 other people and does not make for a nice round.

10/20/2011

Our group has now played about 35 different courses on the Strand over the last few years, from cheapies to the premiums, but The Dunes stands alone. We played on 10-16-11 and found The Dunes to be a truly classy club and course. All the staff is friendly and helpful. The WANT you to have a good time. The course also delivers the goods, with a beautiful layout, great conditioning, and deceptively challenging greens. Cart paths are on both sides of almost every fairway, and the beautiful trees that line many holes are open at ground level, providing the appropriate knock it out penalty for an errant shot, without losing your ball. Even though the ocean was only partially visible from 2 holes, the breeze and setting were wonderful. We are already planning our next round at The Dunes!

William

10/18/2011

We always love the Dunes, and all of our group wants to play it on next year's trip. Premier course, in very good condition.

Robert (North Easton, Mass.)

10/18/2011

Always on our list to play.

Jim

10/12/2011

Very overrated. A beat up and ragged old golf course. Awful starter and high prices on everything. Cancel your tee time.

William (East Petersburg, Penn.)

10/03/2011

I think it would be great. I will come back again. We played after heavy rains. Cart path only and times very backed up.

Mike

09/28/2011

The staff was very nice and professional and the course was in great shape. The food at the guest restaurant was not very good, particularly for the price. Regardless of that, however, we absolutely loved Dunes Club and are planning to return there next year as well.

Ed (Ocala, Fla.)

09/22/2011

Beautiful surroundings.

Wade & Laura (New Cumberland, Penn.)

09/21/2011

09/04/2011

Very nice course, but the greens were heavy and slow.

Eugene (New Hyde Park, N.Y.)

08/30/2011

Very big bunkers, great greens, excellent practice facilities; 13th hole unique.

Robert (Richmond, Va.)

08/24/2011

08/21/2011

08/19/2011

One of my favorite courses. Always in great condition and just a fun course to play.

Sandra (Middle River, Md.)

08/07/2011

Nice course and in great shape. Loved hole #13, even saw a large gator swimming in the water. We tried to purchase bag tags but they had run out of them. Staff was kind, but the starter was not too friendly. I don't think he meant to, but he made us feel like we were invading a private club.

Fred (Thousand Oaks, Calif.)

07/25/2011

Best course on the Grand Strand, bar none. Superior in every way. The Waterloo hole, #13, is one of the most unique in golf and is a blast to play.

Derek

07/20/2011

They had it all. A little snobby to non-members but worthy of the pride. The starter was great with great tips.

Mike (Baldwin, N.Y.)

07/16/2011

Great Trent Jones course, you can feel the history.

Carl (Birmingham, Ala.)

07/12/2011

A favorite layout with great service, great conditions and a good pace of play year after year. What more could one ask for? Thanks.

Scott (Bremerton, Wash.)

07/12/2011

The amenities were excellent; ice, water, etc. The course was very challenging, particularly the back 9.

Jeremy (Webster, Mass.)

07/11/2011

Love the greens. It's like putting on a pool table.

Kim (Lakewood, Ohio)

07/11/2011

A longer than printed course due to raised greens. Greens rolled true and were for the most part in excellent shape.

Merle (Birmingham, Ala.)

07/09/2011

Outstanding.

Vince (Charlotte, N.C.)

07/07/2011

It was worth it and I will play here again. I'm already trying to get a spring outing with the guys for next year and I want to include The Dunes on the list of courses to play.

Dominic (Syosset, N.Y.)

06/10/2011

Just cam back last week. We were all looking forward to playing this highly rated course; course was in horrible condition. Not only greens but fairways; also very disappointed and it was not fair traveling all the way from NY to play this course in horrible condition.

Luis (Valencia, Ontario)

06/07/2011

Course was aerified, however playable, thus fair. Challengin course. Great attention by Cindy at the pro shop, who was superbly cooperative! Look forward to playing the course next spring. I am planning to come over with my wife and children.

Peter

05/25/2011

An amazing golf experience. The greens, fairways, tees, bunkers were absolutely perfect. The staff was excellent and I can't wait to return next year.

Dave (Toledo, Ohio)

05/18/2011

Course was in A+ condition and was a wonderful overall experience. Make sure your ego doesn't influence your choice of tees, as MOST greens are elevated and bunkered in front ... and FAST! At these prices a detailed yardage book needs to be in the cart to help on blind shots.

Art (Wilmington, Del.)

05/11/2011

All was great.

Jerott (Cedar Hills, Utah)

05/10/2011

This is one of the finest tracks you'll ever play. Very friendly staff (the starter was one of the best I've met) and putting green, chipping green, and driving range were ready for a PGA Tour event. The course plays pretty tough, the ocean breeze adding to the difficulty. Course was in excellent condition. Fairways mowed nicely, and greens true and smooth. Even the bunkers were perfect (I found a few); the top inch fluffy, and firmer underneath. Perfect sand. An absolute must-play!

Dan (Arvada, Colo.)

04/25/2011

Excellent course! A favorite for everyone in the group.

Harvin (Midland, Tex.)

04/23/2011

By far the best course we played. Looked amazing.

Joe (Middletown, N.J.)

04/21/2011

Guys loved the course and staff. Did feel a bit not wanted in the clubhouse. Seemed members were quick to point out where you were NOT allowed. Greens extremely fast.

Charles (San Diego, Calif.)

04/20/2011

Classic RTJ course with stately old trees, wonderful greens, beautiful bunkering.

Randy (Horton, Kan.)

04/12/2011

Our favorite course In M.B. We play it every trip.

Parker (Lake Orion, Mich.)

04/12/2011

(Liked the) ocean nearby.

Don (Glen Allen, Va.)

04/10/2011

Great experience. The staff does a great job of taking care of you from when you arrive, getting you on the course and afterwards. The course was in great shape.

Doug

04/08/2011

Classic experience like Pebble and Pinehurst. Will be back for sure. Price doesn't matter. Great layout and classy place.

Gary (Virginia Beach, Va.)

04/06/2011

Superb service - a really terrific, enjoyable experience. Class operation all the way around. Will most definitely return.

Mike (Kenmore, Ontario)

03/29/2011

Our group really enjoyed this course. Obvious why it is ranked so high, it was in great shape and made you hit every club. Didn't know about the alternate hole ... but that didn't matter either. Would be nice if there was a caddy program available, but that is increasingly rare. The lady in the pro shop was extremely helpful and very nice. We didn't eat much, but the lady in the grill room was also very accommodating. The excellent rating for the fairways is only because I never really got on one, but they looked excellent from the rough and ponds and lakes where I was.

Edward (Houston, Tex.)

03/18/2011

This was a nice course, but way overpriced for what you get. We thought it would be way up there and of the 7 courses we played, it came in 6th. We play at a lot of courses so we do know what makes a nice course and what makes a great course.

Matthew (Las Vegas, Nev.)

03/13/2011

Greens were nice.

Allan (Ogdensburg, N.Y.)

03/12/2011

I was playing in the afternoon & the wind came up, so it made the course tougher. I don't normally play above a course slope of more than 130. The Dunes from the blue tees was 139. Beat me up, but I enjoyed it because every hole has its challenge. Like the 286 par 4.

Matt (Spartanburg, S.C.)

02/25/2011

Great course. I would play it again.

Glenn (Palmerton, Penn.)

02/22/2011

The lady never called the golf director about crediting rain checks for 2 golf members which the golf director had taken care of before our departure. As far as the course goes it was excellent.

Chad (Ellenboro, N.C.)

01/21/2011

I was very impressed with the staff at the Dunes. They were very eager to make sure that we got the best out of our round.

Jack

01/08/2011

By far the best greens I've putted on this winter. Rolling at least a 12 and very true. Absolutely beautiful, only wish it was warmer.

Brad Neal

12/10/2010

The course is a true challenge and in excellent shape. It is a real test of your game.

Brad (Kitty Hawk, N.C.)

12/09/2010

The course is a true challenge and in excellent shape. It is a real test of your game.

Gary (Pinehurst, N.C.)

11/22/2010

No ranger to speed up play. Played front 9 in 2 hrs. 5 minutes, back 9 took 3 hrs. 10 mins. Waited every shot on the back nine.

Mike (Chicago, Ill.)

11/03/2010

Grass was too long, as (course was) reseeding.

Vadim (Aurora, Colo.)

10/27/2010

Excellent.

Dennis (Duxbury, Mass.)

10/22/2010

Great course.

Rich (Toms River, N.J.)

10/05/2010

I have had a condo in MB for years and have not played this elite club because of the price. Apparently the club does not know that the nation is in a money crunch or they don't need the income? If they only lower the price some and permit some outside golfer access, the course would benefit to a much greater extent. Come on, Dunes, give it a try.

09/29/2010

Favorite course in MB. Would have liked to have a drink afterward but the lounge was for members only. That, and we followed an individual watering greens by hand a number of holes making the greens seem inconsistent, were the only issues. The beauty of the course eclipsed anything else.

Bill (Lexington, Ky.)

09/15/2010

(Would like to have known prior to playing the) condition of greens. Of course, I realize the strange weather this year.

John (New York, N.Y.)

09/14/2010

Greens had just been tended to, so they were very sandy. However, the ball rolled true. Nothing you can do about it, since courses must be taken care of. The staff allowed us a free replay due to the condition of the greens, got in 36 holes in 6.5 hours. Best staff in Myrtle Beach. Not incredibly long, but certainly difficult.

Bob (Owensboro, Ky.)

09/07/2010

This is a great golf course. Greens were slow but rolled true.

Timothy (Ravenna, Ohio)

08/31/2010

The greens were absolutely terrible. I feel it is ridiculous when you pay close to $100 to play a course and have to putt through bare dirt and sand spots on the greens. The starter was very rude to me at the start of the round because I did not have my shirt tucked in my pants. Also, later in my party's round the same starter stood on the 15th green while we were chipping on and putting to tell us that we were scuffing the greens with our golf shoes. I asked him if he saw our party scuff the greens and his reply was no but that complaints were made by groups behind us so he wanted to follow us for a hole to see if we were the culprits. My party wanted to enjoy a great round of golf on our vacation but the Dunes Golf and Beach Club treated us very poorly and the green conditions were terrible. We will not play this course ever again.

Best course down in MB!!!

Paul (Goldsboro, N.C.)

08/12/2010

Great course and great layout.

Dave (Bethel Park, Penn.)

08/06/2010

Staff was very accommodating. Would like a GPS system. It was my first time playing the course and did not know exact yardage and watger locations.

Kevin (Schwenksville, Penn.)

08/03/2010

First class experience from start to finish - including service and course. Absolutely wonderful and will play there again next year.

Jeff (Maryville, Tenn.)

07/30/2010

Played this course last year and have it booked this August again. Fantastic place. Staff very professional, the atmosphere here is one of a kind. Don't miss this experience!

David

07/28/2010

My son and I just returned from Myrtle Beach and played 2 rounds at the Dunes course. The staff was very friendly, especially Bob the starter, on both days. We found the course conditions were superb for July. This course is the complete package, excellent golf holes, excellent conditions, and an excellent setting. We can’t wait to go back.

Barry (Midlothian, Va.)

07/26/2010

The best, well-rounded, fair but challenging course I have played at the beach. The rough is a penalty due to the thickness, but yet short enough to easily find your ball. The people are great. A wonderful golfing experience.

Robert (Covington, Ga.)

07/10/2010

Would have been a better pace if paired with the twosome in front of us.

Scott (Wilmington, N.C.)

07/01/2010

Great course. Thoughtful layout, great condition. All good. My only complaint is that they should provide you with more info about the course. All I got was a scorecard and that didn't even show the hole layouts. This was especially confusing on the famous #13 Waterloo hole, which is very deceptive your first time through. Aside from that I loved it and look forward to playing it again.

Dave (Texas)

06/08/2010

I like the old style course. The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating.

Joseph (Fredericksburg, Va.)

05/25/2010

Clubhouse and the service were outstanding.

Bix (Lexington, Ky.)

05/20/2010

Pace of play very slow (5 1/2 hours).

Brandon (Georgetown, Ky.)

05/16/2010

Played Dunes on May 14th and it was in great shape as always. Although, pace of play wasn't great. We have been playing this course for 13 years and this year was by far the slowest round. Maybe the ranger took off that day. Advice would be to play it on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Phil (Huntersville, N.C.)

05/14/2010

Excellent experience. I enjoy this course.

Steve (Peabody, Mass.)

05/12/2010

(I liked the) speed of the greens.

Tim (Canonsburg, Penn.)

05/11/2010

Course is challenging but fun. Recommend.

Donald (Gibsonia, Penn.)

04/28/2010

Typical Robert Trent Jones course with big greens and bunkers, very fast greens. Tee positions created too many long par fours to elevated greens, and short par fives. Difficult course for higher handicap players.

Arnold (Derwood, Md.)

04/21/2010

Great old course starter and lady in pro shop are top notch.

Rick (Fairview, Penn.)

04/20/2010

Great facility, love the practice tee, just wish the weather was better.

Brian & Lisa (Champlin, Minn.)

04/17/2010

Loved the experience and plan to come back next year!

Detlef (Munich, Germany)

04/10/2010

Played the course for the first time, 13th hole Waterloo is unique, general rating of the course too high - it's not so exceptional, more comfortable tee times are blocked by members.

Ernest (Columbus, Tex.)

03/21/2010

Robert (Flushing, N.Y.)

03/18/2010

Excellent experience.

Ed (Pennsville, N.J.)

02/27/2010

There is nothing the staff at The Dunes could do to make our experiance any better. 5 stars top to bottom.

Michael (Bel Air, Md.)

01/22/2010

Good experience.

Harvey (Saint Laurent, Quebec)

01/05/2010

A most enjoyable experience.

12/09/2009

Great course, conditions and staff. We played 36 holes in under 7 hours!

David (Easton, Penn.)

12/04/2009

It was great.

Fraser (Toronto, Ontario)

12/03/2009

The most outstanding golf experience in the Myrtle Beach area, bar none.

Stewart

12/03/2009

Best greens we played. Big layout.

Dave (Helena, Mont.)

11/28/2009

Nothing I have played in Myrtle Beach beats the Dunes. They have done a lot to modernize the course condition, and the staff works very hard to create a good experience. They will take care of you ... the Dunes is a fair, fun and still very demanding challenge. Outstanding!

Glenn

11/27/2009

Top notch all the way around! Treatment by all staff made the day special for everyone. Conditions overall the best we saw over 8 days! Great chili in cafe. Outstanding as always!

Kevin (Peoria, Ill.)

Dennis (Wyomissing, Penn.)

09/28/2009

Great old course.

Benoit (Gatineau, Quebec)

08/30/2009

A league of its own. I had played all of the other top 15 MB beach according to Golf Digest before playing Dunes in early July this year. We normally play in October and it is almost impossible to get a tee time and also very pricey. In July we got a tee time at a reasonable rate. It is classic design, tough but peaceful course, all the obstacles are there but no gimmicks or surprises. Be sure to putt well, but you are in for 4 hours of pure pleasure. The only low point would be the snobby lady behind the pro shop counter who seemed to smile at the members but visitors seemed to annoy her.

Corey (Lamar, S.C.)

07/20/2009

It was perfect - absolutely loved the course. My new favorite course at the beach! Thanks again, hope to play here again.

Robert (Beverly Hills, Mich.)

06/29/2009

Can't get much better than this!

Michael (Bermuda)

06/03/2009

Will play every time I'm in Myrtle Beach!

Susan (Sugar Land, Tex.)

05/31/2009

Outstanding, first-class course. Would recommend to anyone. The course is challenging but well worth it! We would love to play the back 9 again; we just live too far away.

Curtis (Boonsboro, Md.)

05/26/2009

Course was immaculate and service was excellent. Best course of the week.

Commented on February 6, 2009: I have played the Dunes seven or eight times on trips to Myrtle Beach. The Dunes is and will always be my favorite place. The Dunes is a must on any trip!

Russell (Lynchburg, Va.)

01/12/2009

Played Aug. 18, 2008: Played this course about 30 years ago, course is better than I remember. Will try to make this a 'play every year' course.

Kenneth (Matthews, Hawaii)

06/14/2008

Played June 20, 2008: Three groups from the staff at the Dunes stood out - the attendants meeting our group at 18 to clean our clubs and just have a friendly conversation, especially when they were about to watch the CEO and his 'friends' from Samsung Corp. tee off; the course marshals, always looking to help and inquire as to how our round was going; and the young lady at the grill/bar offering local knowledge of restaurants and pubs openly, and with a pleasant and friendly outlook. That's what the term 'Ambassador' is all about, and especially when you are the public's connection to any business.
