Many golfers believe that when you are 30 to 40 yards from the green you need to hit a high lofted shot to make it stop close to the pin. This type of shot requires your wrists to swing the club. The precentage is high that you will usually hit it short and not reach the green. The easiest shot in golf is a low rolling type to the green.
Using a sand wedge place your hands forward of the ball with the shaft leaning towards the target. This will take de-loft the club face. The golf ball will be in the middle of the stance. Using more of a shoulder arm swing land the ball just short of the green and let it roll up to the hole. The key here is to keep your wrists firm and make sure the club face does not get in front of your hands during the shot. Remember you are trying to hit it low. The loft of the club will let it go into the air. The odds are with you in that you will 9 times out of 10 get the ball closer to the hole than the high lofted shot.
