After a two year renovation to the course and the clubhouse, Pine Lakes Country Club reopened in March 2009.

Much of the course remained true to original architect Robert White’s design. White was the first president of the PGA of America and co-founder of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. Pine Lakes golf course opened as a complement to Myrtle Beach’s first seaside resort, Ocean Forest Hotel. Pine Lakes opened in 1927 and currently is on the National Register of Historical Places.

For the redesign, Craig Schreiner was contracted to bring the Granddaddy of all Myrtle Beach golf courses back to the spirit of the 1920s. Schreiner preserved 16 of Pine Lakes’ original 18 corridors. To make the turf more environmentally friendly, SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum grass was planted.

Affectionately, called the “Granddaddy” this course is a must play.
